LEO (the lion)

• His very presence commands attention. His regal bearing and good appearance can usually guarantee this.
• His clothing is a source of much talk amongst friends due either to its flamboyance or expensive appearance.
• He is a man who cannot fail to impress for good or evil on first meeting.
• This subject makes an ideal head of any enterprise.
• Many-sided himself, he understands and appreciates the different qualities of other types and rarely wastes time or energy asking from anyone what it is not in his or her power to give.
• Commands, to be effective, must be easily understood and, therefore, his style is simple and straightforward; approval is definite and unmistakable, displeasure intimated without hesitation or circumlocution.
• The past is held in reverence; the future looked forward to with the faith and optimism of a child.
• Shining as a host, he delights in giving of his best to guests and strangers.
• The emotions of this type tend to be over-generous and too widespread; his characteristic faith often leads to misplaced affections and unwise relationships.
• His magnanimity and power of forgiveness can frequently bring success out of failure or enable him to adjust himself to almost impossible conditions.
• Mr. Leo is capable of enduring much work but his method is erratic and exasperating for those around; he will toil without rest for a period of time and then, quite suddenly, relapse into an utterly lazy phase during which time he will be immovable, stirring only when he deems himself ready to carry on.
• This individual makes a wonderful, warm and open friend, nothing is too much trouble for those he loves, and when he marries, Mr. Leo is an excellent provider.
• Being at the center of the fire triplicity, he possesses a strong love nature which makes him ardent and sincere in affections. Because his emotional force springs directly from the heart, the Leo man feels deeply, often resorting to arrogance in an effort to hide his sensitivity.
• No sign can equal the pride of this type, many of his actions or lack of actions are guided by this; and when his vanity is wounded, he can suffer so considerably that his health may be impaired.
• The love of luxury is intense, often acting as a spur to his ambition, for he appreciates all the good things in life.
• His sexual appetite is well developed and this makes sex of paramount importance to him, much thought goes into affairs and he abandons himself heart and soul into each experience.
• Women are very attracted to this man, they sense his masculinity and love of everything feminine.
• His generosity and warmth, endowed on him by the Sun, radiates from him to all with whom he comes into contact.
• The weakness in his personality is a love of flattery and admiration: both are needed depserately, and any female with designs on this man should remember that flattery will get her everywhere.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HIGHER FEMALE

• The female of the sign is very similar to her male counterpart she, too, makes a wonderful friend, has fierce pride and takes naturally to the good things in life. Clothes are of consequence, jewelry treasured, often collected, and a lot of money is spent on her appearance.
• Although her sex drive is stong, the procedure for her necessitates comfort and ease: no back seat of a car or cinema for her.
• The unshakable faith she possesses seems all too frequently to be placed in the wrong people; and she suffers unnecessary heartache because of this.
• Broken engagements, separations and divorce are as a rule to be found in her past.
• Her judgment is too easily deceived by appearance and her desire for comfort can lead her entertaining the idea of marriage for material reasons but should this in fact become a reality, failure would be almost unavoidable for this is a woman who feels deeply and needs to love constantly to remain well-balanced.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE LOWER TYPE

• The lower Leo is cursed with the unquenchable thirst for personal glory; he is ambitious for responsible and high positions which, if acquired, he would be totally incapable of filling with success.
• He assumes self-importance, trying to lord it over whoever he considers to be his inferior, and he attempts to get too far too soon, losing all through lack of experience, laziness or restlessness.
• His biggest weakness is favoritism, selecting colleagues and friends for their ability to flatter and feed his ego rather than for their talents or warmth.
• Many of this type marry beneath them, trying to ensure that they can at least feel superior to someone.
• The lower Leo is incapable of judging character through anything other than appearance and is much impressed by outward wealth.
• His sexual appetite is insatiable and uncontrollable. The subject, when very weak, will arrive at all sexual deviation at some time or other.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

• The Leo is recognized by his regal bearing, deliberation of speech or movement and his generously sized skull.
• Most subjects of this sign are inclined to be tall in stature, but even a small Leo cannot be overlooked in a crowd.
• He is well-proportioned, has a light step with a stride longer than the average, and his laughter will frequently resemble a roar.
• Dancing may be popular with him for he possesses a natural grace.
• In health matters, Leo is either exceptionally strong, radiating vitality all around him, or forever on the sick list.
• Discordant and unharmonious environments, hurt pride and unrequited love can all react on health.
• His best medicine is peace, love and harmony.
