SCORPIO (the scorpion)

• The male Scorpio is well known for his judgment; he can criticize perfectly and impartially, and he is able to give his verdict in a clear and decisive manner.
• Attributed with quick thought, Mr. Scorpio can immediately see the purpose and meaning of things which come under his penetrating eye.
• The love of power is well-developed, but his ambitions are not confined to himself; he desires progress for others also.
• His perceptions are strong and when his career relies on them to any great extent, a high position is often attained.
• The Scorpion man can make an excellent doctor, policeman or inspector.
• The highest achievement is his ability to use this power in the most difficult of situations.
• He strives for self-mastery or improvement, but his downfall is frequently brought about by the sting in his personality which is too often aimed at the wrong people at the wrong time.
• In love, this man tends to be intense and exclusive, prone to sudden attachments and equally sudden separations, this generally stemming from the positive love or hatred felt for his fellow man.
• It is impossible for him to feel indifferent about anyone or anything.
• Sentimentality is frowned upon, the Scorpio male loathes gush of any description and although he many attempt to express inner emotion when in love, it does not come without much effort and eventually defeat may be acknowledged in this direction.
• This man is rarely easily matched, but once this step has been taken, his fixed views on loyalty and trust come to the fore.
• His eagle eye can serve him well here, for it may prevent him from rushing into a hasty marriage or engagement, and despite the fact that many Scorpios can recognize their future wife or husband on sight, nevertheless, they will still wait and watch before taking the final plunge.
• He can be abrupt when he wishes, but his self-control is strong and regularly exercised over his intense sexual urge, for the Scorpio male is motivated by a fear that rightly tells him it would be impossible for him to be ruled by his keen passions.
• No woman will find him an easy person to live with. He can be tiresome and irritating on occasions; trust is rarely totally given for little faith is placed in his fellow man; and when betrayed, though it may only be to the slightest degree, he feels justified in these beliefs. Because of these tendencies, friends will belong to a tight, close and exclusive circle.
• Mr. Scorpio could be summarized as determined, reserved, tenacious and secretive, somewhat proud and capable of unmistakable traits of character which cause him to be intensely liked or disliked.
• His strong backbone, however, helps him to accomplish far more than subjects born of the weaker signs.
• Sexually, this is an active male who is stimulated by passion and emotion, and he needs a female who is sufficiently warm and sensitive to appreciate this.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HIGHER FEMALE

• Miss Scorpio does not find it easy when it comes to personal relationships for she is apt to be exacting and hard to live with.
• Efficient and strong, it is most difficult for her to make allowances for the weaknesses of others; and she is rigidly stern when matters of principle are at stake.
• Too often, this type will become detrimentally involved with a weaker man who will awaken all of her most undesirable characteristics, but she may consider him better than no man at all.
• Depsite her strength of personality, this is a pure female, passionate, sensual and with a large capacity for love. Generally, these good qualities are not wasted on just anyone, only to those who have won her love and respect will she show her softer and more loving side.
• This subject makes an excellent mother though she tends to expect too much from her offspring, often placing before them almost impossible targets.
• Jealousy is an inescapable part of her personality and the man she eventually marries will discover that no matter how much reassurance is given, it will never be enough.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE LOWER TYPE

• When this individual is bad, he is very bad.
• Incidents which create mild resentment or dislike in others create in him violent anger, fierce pride, jealousy and hatred.
• His passions are all-consuming and his courage never fails him, for his will is of iron; but unless he can harness these characteristics, he may become a reckless gambler or an insatiable drinker.
• It is impossible for this man or woman to take a back seat, and he may resort to unfair or unjust criticism in an effort to attract the attention of others.
• He is secretly delighted if he should uncover a weaker or more fallible being and usually proceeds to expose his or her faults to those around.
• Such a man openly enjoys watching friends waste their time and this can lead to a love of practical jokes, which does little to enhance his popularity.
• These obvious shortcomings find their origins in the Scorpio sting, and this type can unconsciously turn it onto himself and become self-destructive while attempting to destroy others.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

• This sign endows its subjects with a powerful frame and inclines them towards being thick-set.
• The eyes are dark and penetrating; the features often heavy.
• A certain pride is displayed in the command of feature and immobility of expression.
• Feelings are rarely shown on the surface even when deeply stirred, and he enjoys turning his perceptions on to others, enabling him to read them as he would an open book.
• In health, there is a tremendous amount of endurance and his powers of recovery are great.
• A Scorpio subject takes pride in the length of time he can work without sleep and mostly will be lucky enough to get away it, but when he finally does fall ill, no patient is more trying for this man will refuse to put his faith in anyone other than himself.
