LIBRA (the scales)

• The Libran male is noted for his keen sense of justice and fairness which when offended is championed with formidable energy.
• All that is truly beautiful around him is appreciated, admired and delighted in, ugliness in any form is despised.
• Dishonesty, melancholia, hysteria are all abhorred and escaped from at the first opportunity.
• He goes through life attempting to establish a beautiful and harmonious environment for those with whom he comes into contact.
• He labors in vigorous phases followed by periods of complete relaxation, during which time he may isolate himself from the outside world while he recuperates. Once back on his feet, he resumes the previous hectic pace. Such behavior is quite normal for him, and when successful in life it is generally as some kind of specialist.
• As a friend, this man is in great demand as his charm, courtesy and genuine appreciation of what is good in others make both male and female find him an illuminating companion.
• At the onset, his vocation or career may cause some anxiety for he may make a wrong decision or take a wrong turning, but in time his particular talents will reveal themselves and will frequently lead him into an artistic activity.
• Love is of paramount importance in his life, even in old age he rarely loses interest. The real danger to him is his urge to propose to the first attractive female that happens his way, living in many instances to regret it.
• With luck, his refinement and fastidious tastes may save him, but should he fall in such a snare and then awaken abruptly to his foolishness, he may launch into many affairs in search for what is missing from his life, normally bringing much unhappiness upon himself and others.
• Children are attracted to this man, they sense the fun that radiates from him, and he is usually ready to respond to them, provided they can refrain from imposing on his kind nature too much.
• Sex plays an important part in his life though it is the love of chase and challenge that really stimulates.
• Mr. Libra begins early in his pursuit of the opposite sex.
• Any female who takes him on on a permanent basis will be forever busy controlling his wandering eye, and she will need to be glamorous and imaginative at all times or his interest may soon begin to fade.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HIGHER FEMALE

• Although sister Libran runs the same risks as her brother, she also shares the same protections and her uncritical mind and frank admiration for the male generally lead to popularity with the opposite sex.
• The chief source of trouble seems to be her manner of appearing too obliging, for she finds it difficult to hurt another's feeling and the word NO comes too infrequently to avoid problems and stress.
• This female attracts complications and is puzzled as to the reason, although it will usually lie in her mistaken kindliness.
• Miss Libra makes an excellent wife and one whose entire world will revolve around her man, and often this is taken to such a degree that her children may play a poor second fiddle.
• The maternal instinct is not to the fore of her personality, and she will always put the man in her life before all else, for she discovered at an early age that self-sufficiency is not for her, as only with the man she loves can she find true expression.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE LOWER TYPE

• The lower Libran is a jack-of-all-trades and his parents may despair over his start in life but to no avail, for he tries this and that rarely making a success of anything attempted.
• Believing himself to be on the search for perfection, he splits hairs and potters over work, his indecision painful to those around.
• This type has a short memory in affections, and it is impossible for him or her to suffer from a broken heart for very long, despite protestations to the contrary.
• To be easily pleased and to please easily, to be born attractive with a need for all that is fair and lovely in life, and to possess a hatred for ugly, unharmonious and mean fellow creatures can be sufficient reason for an impossible life, but add to this an inclination to always live in the present and for the present, caring little for what hides in the future or what has hurt in the past, and you have an individual with a burden to carry. Because of these tendencies, this type will bring misfortune to himself and all those who enter into his life, still protesting his innocence after each unhappy incident.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

• The true Libran has a heart-shaped mouth, a dimple in his chin, and generally appears to look happy. He seems well-fed and is prone to plumpness, dimples, curves and rounded contours, but not necessarily to excessive fat.
• A sweet voice, a bright ringing laugh and an appreciation of fun in those around are all usually in evidence. Fair skin and hair are associated with this sign.
• In health, this type is strong as long as his sense of balance remains undisturbed, but when upset the nerves and constitution will suffer indirectly. If rundown, he should rest, watch his diet and develop his appreciative qualities through poetry, music or some art form.
