Christine Chapel Nurse; Medical Officer, USS Enterprise Head nurse aboard the USS Enterprise under Captain Kirk. Chapel served along side Dr. McCoy in sickbay during the 5-year mission. She eventually became a doctor and served as such on the refitted Enterprise during the V'ger incident. Chapel eventually left the Enterprise and took a position at Starfleet Headquarters on earth, where she coordinated efforts during the attack by an alien probe. Janice Rand Yeoman, USS Enterprise Communications Officer, USS Excelsior A Yeoman to Captain Kirk during the 5-year mission. Rand had various duties aboard the Enterprise, including transporter operator on the refit. Rand left the Enterprise but was at Spacedock to welcome the ship home after the incident with Kahn and Project Genesis. By the time Rand reached the rank of Commander, she was assigned to the USS Excelsior under Sulu's command, and was present for the incident at Praxis and the attempted peace with the Klingons. Saavik Helm Officer, USS Enterprise One of Spock's protege's during his time at Starfleet Academy training cadets. Lieutenant Saavik formed a close bond with Spock and had an interesting relationship with then-Admiral Kirk. Saavik was very outspoken but kept herself in control via her cool Vulcan senses. Lieutenant Saavik failed the Kobayashi Maru test like all cadets do, but that didn't stop her from being assigned to the Enterprise with several other young officers. Saavik survived the encounter with Kahn and was later assigned to study the Genesis planet on the USS Grissom with Kirk's son David Marcus. She is the one who discovered Spock's regeneration on the planet and tried to help the "new" Spock. Saavik was rescued by Kirk and his crew, and she returned with them and Spock to Vulcan where she remained. Valeris Helm Officer, USS Enterprise-A Another Vulcan protege' of Spock. Valeris was closely watched by Spock and he intended for Valeris to succeed him on the Enterprise and in Starfleet when he retired. Valeris volunteered for the helmsman position on the Enterprise-A after Sulu was promoted and assigned to Excelsior. Valeris was secretly working with members of the Federation and Klingons who wanted to prevent peace between the two peoples. She assisted in altering the Enterprise computers, helping her accomplisses beam over to a Klingon ship to commit murder, and allow Kirk and McCoy to be arrested for a crime they didn't commit. |
