Commander Uhura Communications Officer, USS Enterprise Little is known about the exotic and intelligent Uhura. She came on board the Enterprise as the ship's communications officer and proved to be quite intelligent and resourceful in strange situations. Uhura stayed on the ship during Kirk's five-year mission and resumed her duties on the ship after its refitting. Uhura served as intstructor at Starfleet Academy with other Enterprise officers and was assigned to the ship during a training mission that wen awry. When the Enterprise was to be de-commissioned, Uhura was reassigned to work at spacedock, but only to help aid Kirk in his plot to rescue Spock. Uhura helped Kirk steal the Enterprise, and then rendezvoused with him and the crew on Vulcan. Uhura served the Enterprise crew again on the Enterprise-A and experienced many things, including being controlled by Sybok and being present for the Khitomer conference. She also devoted time to chairing seminars at the Academy. images:
