Captain Montgomery Scott
Chief Engineer, USS Enterprise

Montgomery Scott is well-known for his role as the Enterprise's "miracle worker." Serving under James Kirk, Scotty was responsible for maintaining the ship, powering the warp engines, and working the transporters. Time after time, Scotty was able to squeeze his way out of a tough situation and save the day by making adjustments to the ship's systems and using his engineering expertise. He played an important role during the Enterprise's complete overhaul and refit and was one of the few officers who knew his way around the inside of the almost-new ship. Scotty was promoted to Captain and assigned as the USS Excelsior when the Enterprise returned to space dock and was scheduled to be de-commissioned. However, he sabatoged the Excelsior and embarked on a dangerous mission with Kirk to rescue Spock. When the Enterprise was destroyed, Scotty had to learn the workings of a Klingon bird-of-prey, and eventually, had to familiarize himself with a brand new Enterprise-A. Scotty was with Kirk on the Enterprise-B when Kirk was presumed dead, and when he finally retired from Starfleet, he found himself in danger when the ship he was on crashed on a Dyson Sphere. He rigged the transporter to recycle his pattern over and over again, and stayed in statis there until the Enterprise-D under Jean-Luc Picard found and rescued him.
