Made in the great tradition of the second version of No Pressure, Choice Cuts was an album made to fill the void of not having anything out for some time. The band was in a lull at the time. Mark broke his ankle August 9th 1996 and there was not a drummer to fill his place until August 15th 1996. There wouldn't be anything worth while to put out until Yvan could learn the songs. So August 30th 1996 saw the release of Choice Cuts, to the surprise of other band members who didn't even know Rob was making it.
Choice Cuts was known for its famed recording of the Counting Incident where Jeff freaks out at Mark's drumming abilities. Choice Cuts was reviewed in Issue #7 of Humpin' In The Back Room, December 1996.
