The Gathering 2000 is proud to be the first Gathering to have an official Travel Agent. Her name is
Susan Longley, and she is from K Travel, Inc. (You may already know Susan through her daughter, Sara 'Little Demon' Longley.)Susan is going to do her best to get discounted airfare to Orlando International Airport for our attendees, and is generously waiving her usual fee for Gathering 2000 attendees who book their travel to Orlando through her. One of the benefits to using a centralized Travel Agent is the possibility of getting our special guests here for a substantially discounted fare, so we encourage you to contact Susan first when you are ready to make your travel arrangements.
Susan can be contacted via e-mail at: susan@ktravel.net
Or by telephone at: 1-800-731-1132 or 1-207-743-6364.
Her business address is:
K TravelHere are some general guidelines for getting the best airfare, but the most important factors to keep in mind is that airfares change constantly and airline rules are often confusing and complex.
14 Maple Street
Norway, ME 04268
- Try to reserve your air travel as far in advance as possible. By reserving your flight as early as possible, chances are your first choice for date and time will more likely to be available, especially during the very popular summer season in Orlando.
- Try to be flexible in your times of travel. The airlines price their seats according to supply and demand and sell only a certain number of seats at the lowest price. As the flight fills, the price for the remaining seats tends to rise. An airline may be sold out at the cheapest fare for a flight departing at, say, 10 a.m., but could still have plenty of seats at the lowest fare on a flight that leaves at 2 p.m.
- Be sure to check out all your options when deciding which airline to fly, and even which airport to use. Supply and demand applies to airports, too - the largest, most popular airports also tend to be the most expensive to fly into and out of. Many larger cities have more than one airport serving the area, and the one nearest to you may not necessarily be the best one to fly from, especially if you're willing to trade a little bit of added travel time to save some money on your airfare.
- Keep in mind that most airfares can only be held for 24 hours before tickets must be purchased and paid for in full. Airfares and seat availability are never guaranteed until your ticket has actually paid for and issued.
Susan is happy to answer any questions our attendees may have, so we encourage you to give her a call or send her e-mail, and take advantage of her expertise. Happy travels, and we'll see you in Orlando!
- Remember that 99% of airline tickets are nonrefundable. Please have your travel plans set in stone when you purchase your air ticket. It can be very expensive to make changes to travel dates after your ticket has been issued. Most airlines currently charge a change fee of around $75 for most changes to airline tickets. In addition to the $75 change penalty, if the same fare is not available for the new date or time, the airline will charge you the difference between the old fare and the new higher fare. It can be very costly to make changes after you purchase your ticket.
