Where to even start. I apologize for this email and the fashion in which I have to dispense such news, but I have limited time and many things to wrap up. Thus...

1.) I'm terminating my PC service and coming home, hopefully by early April. Some of you have been in the know, but I know this may come as a shock to many of you. I've been wrestling with personal issues and decisions since December, and recently came to the conclusion that I need to be done. I could write pages about how I arrived at this decision, but brevity is the name of the game now; there will be plenty of time for verbal discourse when I'm back in the States. Essentially, Gabon/this experience is now negatively affecting my mental health and I can no longer justify staying if it means sacrificing my sanity and the aspects of my being I treasure the most, simply to stay afloat. PC has been the most significant life event for me thus far and I'd do it again in a heartbeat, but I need to leave while I still have positive memories. There's no glory in staying and no shame in leaving; there is absolutely no hesitation on my part in regards to this decisiona nd I'm thrilled to be returning. NO REGRETS! Leigh will also be leaving, tho for very different reasons--the timing coincided perfectly and since we started this together, we want to end it together.

2.) Yes, the dogs are coming, tho it will take some severe strategy over the coming weeks. Don't ask. Plus, on the health side, Minger was spayed recently and is in the process of recovering, in addition to battling a nasty skin fungus she picked up from Bousco. Bousco, on the other hand, went into heat before we could yank out HER innards, and after one brief, unfortunate incident, is now pregnant. The vets are giving her a series of shots today and tomorrow to induce miscarriage, so as soon as the dogs are healthy and cages are found, we'll be on our way to Libreville where WE need to get medically cleared before they ship us all home.

It's a crazy time filled with myriad emotions and last-minute tasks, but as I said, there has not been a moment's doubt about our decision. Hell, I even have my first meal planned out--broccoli, lima beans, brussel sprouts, my dad's hamburgers, and fruit salad. Oh, yeah!

I hope this finds you well and I'll try my best to keep you updated over the coming weeks. Until then, take care and keep your fingers crossed that everything works out!

More excitement than words can convey-
