DAY 14: WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31st (Continued)
Were too tired to go to village after dinner as had been our intention. Will go over early in the morning. Fished from the point for bull-heads this evening, and had fine luck,- Fritz 14, I 5. Cleaned what we wanted by the light of
a mammoth fire of drift wood,- the first real "camp-fire" we have had.
At midnight tonight the deer season opens, and already occasionial shot betokes the "early bird". This is probably the last we will write as a diary of the trip proper. The rest will be added
when we "polish off" at home.
Though we have lost a few pounds each, we are feeling fine, and have enjoyed the trip to the limit. Next time we will know better as to some things and not as to others. Bed at 9:00 P.M.
