My grandmother was a Cobb, Dau. of Oliver Perry Cobb and Maud Chester Cobb. Her grandfather was a Joseph Cobb. We are trying to find Joseph's grandfather, who we think was John Cobb of Knox Co., KY. Joseph was born in 1840, illegitimately to the dau of John, and was thus raised by John. Joseph's mother may have been named Savannah, and may have married a Cottengin, but we don't know for sure. Any info you may have would be greatly appreciated. Janet

What a great web page - fantastic job. I am descended from Williams James Sr. through his son Reverend Jesse James. I am very interested in sharing information. I show a marriage for Tandy James and Betsy Cloud on September 30, 1820 in Grainger County, Tennessee. Marriage bond was signed by Thomas Waggoner. Was this your Thomas? Tandy was the son of Thomas James and Elizabeth Matthews. I can't tie my Hale 3rd great grandfather James C. Hale born Virginia 1803 who married Mahala James (granddaughter of Rev. Jesse James to his parents so I'm looking for Hales also.) Would appreciate any info. Thanks!

very impressive! I'm searching for a link to my husband's grandparents William and Nannie (Robinson)Cobb of Kansas (Nebraska and Iowa). Family records were stolen which has made search very difficult in that the family lineage is Afro-american. My son accidentally came across this when looking for Faversham after discovering our descendants came from there. After viewing your site we have discovered that we are descendants of Robert Cobb, Jr. and Rebecca Vinckler, third son of Robert and Elizabeth. Your site is great!

I am a decendant of Adin Sasser through Nancy"Nannie" Sasser Morris. My grandmother was Elizabeth Morris Nuckols b.07-30-1877, in Laural Co.KY.She died 06-28-1964, in Shawnee,OK.I have Birthdates and birth places for all her children, if you are interested. Nice job. The original crest that my father drew (in black and white) is very close to the one on the left of your crests. Never have found out what Henry Cobb did to become a Baronet. Our side (I'm adopted) is from Henry Cobb and the Plymouth colony Cobb's. Have a great day. Dave

I've visited your site before and posted a family Civil War story earlier in the year. My Tuttle line is Samuel Joseph(7) James Henry(6) James(5) John(4) Thomas(3) Peter, Jr.(2) Peter, Sr.(1). Most of my direct line still resides within a 10 mile radius of Thomas Tuttle's land grant east of Germanton, NC. There seems to be some confusion about Anna Maria "Mary" Tuttle Laird, both east and west of the Blue Ridge; Our family history here has Mary's first husband listed as "Son Tuttle"; the Frey family history has him listed as "Unknown Tuttle". Anna Maria "Mary" Frey Tuttle remarried to John Laird and removed to Giles Co., TN in the mid-1790's. This "Son" or "Unknown" Tuttle was youngest son of Thomas and Elizabeth Tuttle, and youngest brother of Rev. veteran John Tuttle who married Anna Maria Barbara "Barbara" Frey in 1783. Anna Maria "Mary" Frey was youngest daughter of Johann Michael and Maria Dorothea Schmidt Frey, and youngest sister of "Barbary". Can someone help unravel this? Up until recently we here in NC had assumed this youngest son of Thomas and Elizabeth had died young, but perhaps this is incorrect. I've enjoyed visiting your site. Michael Tuttle

Please help my great grandfather was Henry cobb and was said to be some type of marshall in Knox county Ky. He was shot while on the job. His son Henry Cobb(who died in 1945)married Isabelle Sasser,who later married his brother Samuel Cobb. I cant seem to find anymore than that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
