I see a note regarding Paul E. Larkam in your Barber/Snodgrass research. He is not in my direct line, but he is a nephew of my great grandmother's, Lura Belle (Larkam) Ocker. I know Mary Ellen Larkam married a "Mr Snodgrass". Would sure love to know who he is if you happen to have that info. My data says Mary Ellen died & is buried in Woodward Oklahoma in 1908. My mother is a Cobb so I guess that makes me at least 1/2 Cobb. Her name was Lavenia May Cobb. Her father was Samuel Cobb of Oklahoma (lived in Macomb near Shawnee). Grandpa Sam Cobb married Opal (not sure of last name) sometime between the years of 1920-1930. Mom was born in 1927 and had several brothers and sisters. Their Names: Ellen,Delphia,Marge,Blanch,Reva,Al,Sammy. Sammy died when he was about 12 and I am named after him. Grandpa Samuel Cobb died about 1953. He was logging in the state of Washington when a choker chain broke and hit him in the forehead. He died on the spot. I was only about 2-3 years old at the time but I do remember seeing him sitting at the kitchen table. He had curly black hair and my mom still has a lock of it. My dad's name was Joy Dean Triplett of Bledsoe Texas. He passed away approximately 15 years ago. His parents were Guy and May Triplett. He lived in California and the rest of us grew up in Washington State.My siblings are named Larry Dean Triplett,Guyle Brent Triplett, Marie LaJoy(Triplett)Pierce.Guyle was killed in an auto accident in 1971 and is buried in Seattle Wa. I am married to Linda (Menser)Triplett. She is from Neptune NJ and from a big family of Mensers there. Her Mom's side is named Tuoni (Italian). I think Menser is a German name. Acutally her dad named Haskell Paul Menser is from the Shawnee Ok. area and probobly lived quite near my Granpa Sam Cobb back in the 30's. Strange but true. I am curious about the name Cobb. I have heard it is a form of the name Jacob or Jacobson. If that is true, are we Jewish? Does anyone know? Thanks and hello to all you Cobbs out there!

Thank you for posting the Bailey material. My great-aunt Martha was a proud woman, but she died in Eastern State Mental Hospital, not a nursing home. The photographys you have of John and Bev are reversed; my grandmother knew them all very well, and I have a good copy of the original of that photo. She identified them several times, as did several cousins and friends. The original is still owned by Mr. Lee in Harlan County. Please switch the photos. Bill Smith was just confused; I am the one who told him who was who, and I guess he got them switched. I am also the one gave him the articles. There are literally hundreds more, and Grover Brit is almost right about the start of the troubles. Actually, the Bailey boys had their first murder in their teens in 1907. Let me know if you need a better copy of any of the photos or more articles.

Wm Bryant Gray was killed by one Hiram Benge shortly before 08 May 1891? First I must compliment your beautiful, informative web pages! I was so pleased to find the picture of the Shadrack Helton family! I would like to make one orrection, if I may? In the list of Zachariah Benjamin Saylor's children, you listed (11) Nancy Telitha and (12) Teritha both born 1840. They are the same person. Tesitha was my gr gr grandmother. Her name was spelled differently on every document. Very confusing! On her tombstone her name is spelled Tesitha. FYI Aritta was her twin sister. Tesitha married Levi Jasper Coleman and then they went to Kansas with her parents in the 1860s.

I was born and raised in NY state so I believe to be a descendant of Henry Cobb, however, so far I cannot prove it. I am trying to find the father of my g/g/grandfather, Uriah S. Cobb whom I believe to be one Ebenezer Cobb (deduction from census records). Sure am anxious to find the link.
