My g-g-g grandma is minnie(lansford) sasser and my g-g-g grandfather is henry sasser!! my dad, Ronnie Gene Sasser, Jr. told me stories of Minnie and how she was full blooded cherokee indian. My grandfather, Ronnie Gene Sasser, Sr. died of lung cancer in 1992. his father was Augustus Sasser. My grandafather's mother is still alive. I call he mema. I am curious about your John Smith, husband of Sarah Mosley and father of Nimrod Smith, born about 1802. I recently discovered that my ancestor Nimrod Smith's parents were John and Annie. I wonder if Annie might have been a nickname or a middle name of Sarah. We believe that my Nimrod was born in Hardy (now Hampshire) County, (West) Virginia around 1800 and died 1866 in Lewis County, West Virginia. Do you have any further information that might help? Great site.I really enjoyed reading about all the Cobbs. My gr.grandfather was Anthony Blackburn Cobb b. Margate England in 1842. He was a banker in the 1880's . Maybe it was Cobb's bank. I was told the Cobb family bank printed its own money!!.They were also involved in shipping and owned a well known (at the time) brewery. Maybe down the line there will be a connection. The family line traces from Barnstable to Pomfret, CN, to Caswell Co., NC, to Anderson Dist., SC, to Tishimingo Co, MS to Clarke Co. (Mars Hill Community) now Oconee Co., GA. John D also lived in NY and married twice, first to a woman named Rose, and later to a woman Name unknow, John D did not have children, and he too died on the homeplace in Mt. Vernon, Mar 24, 1995.

I stumbled across your webpage today and was shocked and pleasantly surprised to find the 1912 Taylor School Picture from Tedders, KY which included 7 of my uncles and aunts in the picture. The 7 are older siblings of my father, only one of whom I met when I was a child in the 1970s. My father was Roy Layton Tedders, born in Tedders, KY; great grandson of George and Angeline Tedders. I don't know very much about my family heritage but I am so pleased that I was able to learn about my great-great grandparents and, see a picture of my great-great grandmother, as well as the childhood pictures of my uncles and aunts (most of whom I've never met). My husband was James Allen Jarvis, who was born in Barbourville, KY in 1921. He died in 1992. His father was James Dutton Jarvis, who was mayor of Barbourville at some point in his life. His father's name was Henderson Jarvis. They are all buried in the Barbourville cemetary with a large Jarvis monument, near the shelter toward the back. The names of JD Jarvis and his wife Zella are listed on the pillars at the entrance of the cemetary. I was wondering if there was any connection to your family.
