Poem of the Blog:
MERRY...
No one's hangin' stockin's up,
No one's bakin' pie,
No one's lookin' up to see
A new star in the sky.
No one's talkin' brotherhood,
No one's givin' gifts,
And no one loves a Christmas tree
On March the twenty-fifth.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know it's not March 25th, but I read this poem and figured I'd most likely forget about this poem by the time March 25, 2005, rolls along=P May 25th's close enough, right?

Come to think of it, May 25 has proven to be quite a "merry" day=)
- went to school early for GCF at 7:30am, but the teacher didn't get there until 8:10am or so to open the door=P
- got called down (along with Julie and Cedric) to Ms. Habib's class during announcements (I'll explain later)
- another spare during period 2 , cuz our French teacher had to do ISU interviews and didn't want the rest of us disturbing her
- finished all my physics homework at lunch
- math class, even though it was a li'l on the boring side today, we didn't have any homework
- Cecilia picked me up from school and we went to Square One to get ideas for our dad's upcoming b-day!

Anyhoo, as for the getting-called-down thing - don't worry, I didn't get into trouble=P Yes...I come across as the trouble-making type, don't I? hehe...I dunno if you remember me talking about that Carleton University design competition. Anyhoo, Julie, Cedric and I did a project with the contest criteria as our project criteria for our design tech class last semester and we ended up entering it earlier this month...and well, we won for our category! haha...I guess those 7 hours of sewing and endless hours of stress really paid off, eh?

Talkin' about stress and school, Vicki sent me her "spoof" of Evanescence's My Immortal...hehe...Thought you guys might like to read it=P

MY ASSIGNMENTS
I'm so tired from being up
Rushing to finish these dumb assignments
They have to get done
I wish I could get them done
But the questions still linger here
And they won't leave me alone

PRE-CHORUS
The questions make no sense
It makes me really tense
There's just too much that I just do not get

CHORUS
You gave us too much work to do
You said it's all due the next day
I did them and I handed them in
But you still have all my marks

You used to scare me with your demanding criteria
And now I'm bound by these marks that are delayed
Your course it haunts my once pleasant grades
Your tasks it chased away all the sleep I badly need

PRE-CHORUS
CHORUS

I tried so hard to tell my prof I want to drop
But it's compulsory
So I had no choice all along

CHORUS

Anyhoo...That reminds me, I should really get working on that French ISU...grrr...my computer keeps saying "program not responding"...ahhhh! Technology - a blessing and a curse...2 sides of the same coin=P

Merry May 25th!

Poem of the Blog:
TELL ME
Tell me I'm clever,
Tell me I'm kind,
Tell me I'm talented,
Tell me I'm cute,
Tell me I'm sensitive,
Graceful and wise,
Tell me I'm perfect -
But tell me the truth.

Quote of the Blog:
"I’ve been around the world and never found a love like this..." - Inside Outside, Delirious

Sunday, May 23, 2004
6:51pm

Hey everybody! Just wanted to pass along the link to one of Delirious' videos that my dear cousin Vicki sent me today=) Inside Outside is from their newest album "World Service". They're a great Christian band and they've written a few well-known worship songs (i.e. Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble, I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever, and Majesty).

Inside Outside

Inside outside, under my skin
Never ending love I don’t know where it begins?
I don’t know where it ends, I don’t know how high
I don’t know how deep, I don’t know how wide
Outside inside around the world
Never ending love envelops me like a cloud
I feel you in front, I feel you behind
I feel you up above, And I feel you at the side

And you, you’re all over me, you’re all over me
Your banner is over me, I give it all ‘cos

You still captivate me, fascinate me
You still captivate me, saturate me

Inside outside, pulling me in
No matter where I run I know you’ll never give in
I see you in the storm, I see you in a kiss
I’ve been around the world and never found a love like this

You’re all over me, you’re all over me
You’re everything I want to be
I’m all over you, you’re everything I want to see
You’re all over me

You still captivate me, fascinate me
You still captivate me, saturate me
You still captivate me, liberate me
You still captivate me
(Written by Martin Smith/Stu Garrard ©2003 Curious? Music UK)

So, I hope you guys enjoy it...I've gotta go eat dinner now! Later!

Captivated,
     Angela

Poem of the Blog:
DANCIN' IN THE RAIN
So what if it drizzles,
And dribbles and drips?
I'll splash in the garden,
I'll dance on the roof.
Let it rain on my skin,
It can't get in -
I'm waterproof.
-Falling Up, Shel Silverstein

Well...perhaps I wasn't exactly dancin' in the rain, but it sure was raining when I went out with Cecilia to drop off SIX garbage bags full of old clothes at a nearby donation box. hehe...and we ended up going to Swiss Chalet afterwards, since Cecilia was feeling too tired to heat up leftovers and wash dishes=P

Anyhoo...today's been a relatively good, but tiring, day. I woke up at 11am - it's been ages since I last slept in that late! And then I spent the rest of it cleaning up my room - thus the bags of clothes=P But I'm totally exhausted...and I still have to get my math homework done before I go to sleep...that's my goal anyways.

So, I hope you all have a great Victoria Day weekend! oooh...that reminds me...there should be fireworks...Cecilia and I always get sparklers, but I dunno if we're that this year with all the rain=(

Letting it soak in...

Quote of the Blog:
"Math is a universal language..." - Justin Chu

Poem of the Blog:
FORGOTTEN LANGUAGE
Once I spoke the language of the flowers,
Once I understood each word the caterpillar said,
Once I smiled in secret at the gossip of the starlings,
And shared a conversation with the housefly
                                       in my bed.
Once I heard and answered all the questions
                                       of the crickets,
And joined the crying of each falling dying
                                       flake of snow,
Once I spoke the language of the flowers...
                                       How did it go?
                                       How did it go?
-Where the Sidewalk Ends, Shel Silverstein

hehe...You're probably wondering why I would ever put a quote like that on my blog=P Well...first period math class today, I was teasing Justin about how he's the ONLY person I know whose taken Kumon and actually likes it=P And I was saying how spending 11 years of my life doing Kumon was a few years too many...and then he asked me about spending the same time learning Chinese.

"But that's a language..."

"...well...Math is a universal language..."

Yes...don't ask me how he came up with that...but yeah...I just laughed when he said it and told him I'd post it up on my blog - so here it is!

Anyhoo...this whole language discussion also ties in with the French ISU I'm currently struggling with...It consists of a written, as well as an oral, component. Had a hard time coming up with a decent topic and now that I've kinda got one, I'm finding it hard to get relevant info...And having stared at the computer screen for so many hours, my eyes are starting to sting=S

hmmm...think I should go to bed soon. And talking about that...I found an old microcassette today. It has my mom singing some old Chinese lullabies on it - the ones she used to sing to Cecilia and me every nite, the ones we'd fall asleep to...It was so long ago...Sweet memories...

One of the world's li'l dreamers,
     Angela

Poem of the Blog:
SOMEBODY HAS TO
Somebody has to go polish the stars,
They're looking a little bit dull.
Somebody has to go polish the stars,
For the eagles and the gulls
Have all been complaining they're tarnished and worn,
They say they want new ones we can't afford.
So please get your rags
And your polishing jars,
Somebody has to go polish the stars.

hmmmm...So tired...just got back from Chinese school and lunch. I had my exam today...last Chinese exam EVER!!! But yeah...I didn't get much sleep...well...less than I had hoped for.

Around 4:30am, our carbon monoxide alarm went off blaring upstairs...and yeah...my parents thought it was the fire alarm...and yeah - that took a while=P

Anyhoo...I've gotta run...gotta go out with my parents=) Just wanted to post the poem and say "hi"=P

Polishing the stars,

Poem of the Blog:
C O L O R S
My skin is kind of sort of brownish
Pinkish yellowish white.
My eyes are greyish blueish green,
But I'm told they look orange in the night.
My hair is reddish blondish brown,
But it's silver when it's wet.
And all the colors I am inside
Have not been invented yet.

11:02pm

I had a bit of time before heading out to prayer meeting tonite and I spotted my 3 Shel Silverstein books on the shelf and I figured I'd skim through them...And since I'm running a li'l low on good quotes, I decided to do some "Poems of the Blog" instead of just plain old "Quotes of the Blog"=)

I've been doing some research for a French ISU...planning to do it on the Moulin Rouge...trying to find some good info and come up with a possible rough essay thesis/topic kind of thing=P hehe...it's 11:42pm already...I am really bad multi-tasker!

Anyhoo...life's been a li'l crazy for the past bit...I can't wait for this Saturday to be over - Chinese school will basically be over=) No more Chinese classes for the rest of my life! *sigh*...I'm just soooo anxious to get it all done and over with! I want to be able to sleep in at least once a week, and maybe watch Saturday morning cartoons with my sister=P...although I don't really like cartoons nowadays - Animaniacs and Bugs Bunny were sooo cool...now, I just dunno...all those weird plots, characters, etc...

I'm a li'l tired and I've still gotta finish up my French research, so I guess I'll talk to you guys soon!

Colorful me,
     Angela

Quote of the Blog:
"Mother's Day is not just about ideal relationships in a perfect world. It goes beyond that. It's about real families like ours who've shared life's troubles along with it's joys. It's about mothers who care...who love through it all." - Hallmark

hehe...Hallmark does say it all, doesn't it?

Well, I've gotta go celebrate with my mommy soon=P So I guess I'll catch you all later!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hey peoples!!! First blog entry of the month! (I had hoped to write yesterday - it being my birthday - but that didn't happen=P) But with all the belated b-day surprises I got today, it might as well have been my b-day today too! These past 3 days have been the best!

Wednesday, I celebrated with my family. We ate out at a Japanese restaurant, saw Mamma Mia and didn't get home 'til really late=P

Yesterday, went to school for jazz choir at 7:30am, left the music room to find Gloria and Justin in the hallway trying to stall me from getting to my lacker=P hehe...eventually went to my locker to find it decorated for the first time in my high school years=) With balloons inside - which I still dunno what to do with...guess I'll drag them home on the bus Monday afternoon...People sang "Happy Birthday" in 3 of my 4 classes and I also got a card signed by I dunno how many people!!! But man...it was so great!

And just when I thought it was all over, today (first thing in the morning) Fify, Shefali, Justin and Celine gave me the sweetest gift ever!!! It consists of 3 photo frames - one with digital pics of all of us, one with the "quote of the blog", and one with this on it:

Top 10 Reasons Why We Love Angela
10. She's always willing to lend a brain to a friend in need.
9. Happiness comes in slightly vertically challenged packages...Just slightly.
8. She smells like freshly squeezed fruity juice.
7. She keeps us mentally sane by giving us weird looks.
6. She laughs at our jokes, even when they're not funny.
5. She inspires us to study at lunch, even when it seems hopeless to try.
4. She never tells us to go away (we still wonder why sometimes).
3. She listens to our never-ending rants about stupid things.
2. She still hangs out with us in public even though we act like total freaks.
1. She always puts a smile on our faces!

Thanks guys!!! And then at lunch, Fify and Shefali come in to the cafeteria late with a home-baked cake! hehe...you guys are crazy, but that's why I love you guys=P

And all the other gifts I received these past few days have been such a blessing! Big or small, well-planned or spontaneous, expensive or economical - even if it was just a simple "happy birthday"...hehe...even if people didn't really know or remember until they heard someone else say it=P

I pray that God blesses you all for have been such blessings to me=) This has definitely been a sweet way to end my "sweet sixteen" and a great way to begin my 17th year=)

Counting my blessings,
Realizing I'll never be able to count them all...
     Angela
