| SWOT ANALYSIS SWOT analysis defines the current and the future position of an organization. The SWOT analysis of Alumni Society of the Faculty of Political Sciences is as follows; · Strength: Alumni Society of the Faculty of Political Sciences strength is mainly resulted from its members. It has approximately 9000 members all over Turkey and they are bounded with a slogan 'Önce Mülkiye sonra Türkiye'. Position of members in the government and private sector increases their power. Alumni Society of the Faculty of Political Sciences is a rooted and settlement organization in Turkey and it has strong relations with UN and UNESCO also in financial matters. · Weakness: The main weakness of Alumni Society of the Faculty of Political Sciences is financial. Because of this organization cannot realize all the plans they have in mind. An example for this may be international activities. Another weakness is their static structure, which means not elastic due to changes of the environment. And the last is directors are not professionals and all have other jobs. That means they could not fully utilize their time for Alumni Society of the Faculty of Political Sciences. · Opportunities: The main opportunity of Alumni Society of the Faculty of Political Sciences is resulted from the location of the organization. First in Ankara then in Kizilay provides many opportunities. Many of the members are in Ankara because of Ankara is the capital city and all the government organizations exist here. Alumni Society of the Faculty of Political Sciences has facilities in Kizilay, which is an advantage for the organization. Alumni Society of the Faculty of Political Sciences has strong communications with other nonprofit organizations such as TMMOB and acts in coordination with them. Also it is a well-respected organization in the society, which increases the affects of the organization activities. · Threats: Alumni Society of the Faculty of Political Sciences takes its strength from the members which are the mainly the graduates of SBF. And a change in the characteristics of the students of SBF would affect the future position of the organization. If there would be a decrease in the level of the students in average, which may be resulted from the decreasing popularity of the SBF with respect to other universities, then Alumni Society of the Faculty of Political Sciences would lose its current situation in the future. Another important threat may be that Alumni Society of the Faculty of Political Sciences loses its function of a non-profit organization and would become an ordinary restaurant due to lack of interest of both directors and members. The last threat may be the competitive associations. Nilay Vakfi and Istanbul Mülkiyeliler Vakfi are both competitors of Alumni Society of the Faculty of Political Sciences. However this is not so important that these associations effect are small. |
