Paul W.S. Anderson's visually splendid, pulpy piece of science fiction concerns a mission in the year 2047 to rescue the spaceship Event Horizon, which disappeared seven years previously and suddenly, out of nowhere, reappeared in the orbit of Neptune. Laurence Fishburne is the mission commander Captain Miller and Sam Neill stars Dr. Weir, the scientist who designed the mystery ship. In scientific terms, the "Event Horizon" is the point of no return before one is hurled into the endless unknown. There is much gore, special effects... but the bloody visions of Hell will frighten you the most.

The End of Violence

Wenders' first American film since Paris, Texas is a very interesting experience. A beautiful film of unsettling menace and haunting mystery. Bravo to Ry Cooder's soundtrack.

He won our hearts and carried an epic as a child and chilled us to the bone as an adult; yet Christian Bale is hardly a household name. But it should be. There is hardly a better actor out there today than Christian Bale. And this is one of my fav movies of all times. 

Enemy of the State

Director Tony Scott's best work since Crimson Tide. The plot is complex and hard-hitting. A true technological thriller with a great sound and picture quality.
