Cuckoo's nest One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

"Get out of my way, son. You're using my oxygen, you know what I mean?"

One of the greatest American films of all time, directed by Czech Milos Forman. The unauthorized screenplay was adapted from author Ken Kesey's 1962 popular, best-selling novel of the same name. The novel was originally dramatized on Broadway beginning in 1963 with actor Kirk Douglas starring in the lead role as McMurphy and Gene Wilder as Billy Bibbit. Douglas bought the rights to the novel, but couldn't convince film studios to produce the film. Many years after Douglas transferred the rights to his son, actor/producer Michael Douglas, who co-produced the United Artists film with Saul Zaentz.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest brought Jack Nicholson his first Oscar.

              Original Sin   (Unrated version)

With Antonio Banderas, Thomas Jane

Antonio hit big but of late his star his faded, but this is completely undeserved. Antonio is sexy, funny, and he has an enormous screen presence. He is overlooked often and in my opinion could headline any movie at the box office today and play the role exquisitly. Antonio should be embraced as a super talent and not shelved along with other has been action stars like Bruce Willis. Check out his performance in Original Sin.

                  Owning Mahowny  Mahowny

Dan Mahowny (Philip Seymour Hoffman) travels to Atlantic City to so some serious gambling. How serious? He soon becomes a favorite to the manipulative casino general manager, Victor Foss (John Hurt), who does nothing to discourage him from casually placing $70,000 a hand bets! Mahowny knows that he is being played for a sucker. However, he lacks the will power to say no. Minnie Driver is memorable in the thankless role of the woman who loves the loser Dan Mahowny.
Parents of teenagers should make sure that their siblings view Owning Mahowny. They should not get overly concerned by the R rating resulting from the brief nude scenes and vulgar language. It's important that youngsters learn early on that gambling addicts are to be pitied and not emulated.
