Cambodian riel and US dollars serve as acceptable tender. Thai baht is accepted in some restaurants and hotels. There are no ATMs. It is best to carry some small Cambodian notes for small purchases and motorcycle taxis. Credit cards and traveler’s checks are unknown outside the banks. Both MekongBank gives cash disbursements on Visa credit cards.

Do not accept torn US dollars. Though marred Cambodian riel are no problem, even a small rip in a large US note makes it nearly impossible to pass.
