Knot Magic goes back at least 4,000 years, when cuneiform tablets were produced in the Near East describing various types of magic involving the use of knots. Sadly Knot Magic has fallen into disuse today and is in jeopardy of being completely forgotten.
Magical Knots were frequently carved into churches to guard against the entry of pagan magic or'spirits'. Knot magic is simple and practical and is still being worked with good results by those who remember the craft.
The act of tying a knot brings into physical form an idea or thought. When you tie a knot, while thinking or focusing on a desired outcome, you are making a connection in your mind between the knot (the physical) and the thought (the mental). Tying a knot around an image or object, literally 'binding' the image with a cord , or the image to an object.
Magic is an emotionally-charged experience in which the words and actions are used as focal points or keys to unlock the power that exists in all of us.
KNOT MAGIC
The cords should be of natural materials, such as wool or cotton. For most spells you won't need more than a foot or two of cord, unless there are several knots involved because knots eat up a great deal of length. KEEP YOUR MAGIC CORDS OUT OF SIGHT! This way they won't be picked up by others and used for something else or empowered by anothers energy or vibrations.
You can weave, braid or just tie your cords. Use whatever feels best to you. Braiding is in itself a magical act.
When you have received that which you performed your spell for, you may burn or bury your cord, or save it in a safe secure place.
BINDING RITUAL
Write your wish or desire on a piece of paper, fold as small as you can and wrap a piece of cord or string around it seven times and knot it securely. Then bury or burn it and scatter the ashes in a stream or ocean. IT IS DONE!
LOVE SPELL
Take 3 cords of pastel colors and braid them tightly together. Firmly tie a knot near one end of the braid, while thinking of your need for love. Tie six more knots until you have a total of seven. Wear or carry the cord until you find your Love. After that, keep it in a safe place or give it to one of the elements.

7 knots for Love
8 knots for Peace
9 knots for Protection or Healing
It is said if you wake and have knots in your hair, elves and fairies have played in your hair while you slept.
