The name Goslin has a main alternative spelling: Gosselin
The name seems to originate from France, and many Gosselins may be found in
Canada.

John Goslin and his wife Jane married in about 1733 and the following year had a
daughter Elizabeth. Then in Feb 1737, they had twin boys, Nicholas and Thomas.
In 1770, Nicholas married Alicia (1747-1820), daughter of William Scott and his wife.
Nicholas lived in or near Portarlington, Queen's County and was church warden for
LEA parish in Queen's Co (now co Offaly) circa 1804. He is buried in the church
grounds of the Church of Ireland (Protestant) Church in Monasterevan, Co Kildare,
Ireland.
One of the six children of this marriage was Alicia Goslin (1792-1871) who, in 1813
married John Kelly
of Maddenstown House, The Curragh, Co Kildare, Ireland from
whom I am descended.
