Richard Ouseley, (born ca 1542 and died about 1598 was the great-grandson
of Thomas Osley of St Winifred's, Salop, who was living 1486. In 1572,
Richard held by Grant of the Crown the estate of Courteen Hall,
Northamptonshire. He married Magdalen Wake and was succeeded by his
first son,

* Sir John (born ca 1568, died ca 1624), who was a military officer and went as
Ambassador to the Emperor of Morocco. He fell at the Siege of Breda in
1624. He married in about 1588, Martha, daughter of Bartholomew Tate and
his wife Dorothy Tanfield. They had six children of which

* Richard Ouseley (1594- ca 1650) was a Major in the service of Charles I
from 1625 to 1640. He married around the year 1623, a daughter of Mark
Parker of Underwood, near Alderney, Buckinghamshire. Of their twelve
children, the second son

* Richard (born Oct 1625) moved to Co Kerry in Ireland and subsequently to
Ballycogley, Co Wexford, Ireland. He married Anne, daughter of William
Noss (or possibly Ness) and had by her, 5 daughters and seven sons. The
eldest daughter

* Mary Ouseley (born July 1654) married John Boxwell (born 1639) of
Wexford.
