Medical Mission Proposed

December 19 - In a recent interview with Malou and Ige, preparations for the December 1997 reunion is ongoing. There was a scheduled class reunion for 4-A, where all the class representatives were invited to further discuss the plans for the grand reunion.
One idea being promoted at this time is for the batch to sponsor a Medical Mission in Santiago. Malou is urging Monchit to communicate with organizers in Santiago and let them know if this is feasible. They are also calling on all graduates and spouses in the medical field to contribute ideas.
Apparently this suggestion was made by Dr. Jeffrey Demano, who is now based in Santiago, at the Emergency Center in Rosario.

Reunion for U.S.-based alumni is set

When we were toying with the idea of a mini-reunion, several dates were thrown on the table. After confirming with Monchit, we have decided to meet here in Los Angeles on the 3rd weekend of February.

Grace Sillos has confirmed her travel plans. She will be arriving at LAX on February 19th. Michael and his family are currently contemplating on taking a long vacation so they could drive across the plains. Edwin de Guzman and family may follow suit but is definitely coming, by land or by air.

Monchit, who confirmed this date will let us know about her plans as soon as she comes back from her two week vacation. Hopefully Ronabee can join us. Gladys can’t make a decision yet because of school commitments. Maricel may not make it because of her condition.

Bernardo, Atong, Higee, Fely, Ronald and I will be your waiting hosts.

Ring in the new year with joy and lots of luck! Let those new year’s resolutions be a reality too!

1997 is here and we should be celebrating our 15th year homecoming. As I look back, I remember a promise I made on graduation night, "to cast a shadow brighter than what I had when I left." It is ironic that however hard I tried to learn to focus on what’s here right now, I can’t get away from the past.

This is my 12th New Year’s Day celebration here in the U.S. and I am dead-homesick! I can’t wait to be home for the next year’s celebration!

Maricel and Pablo are on the way

On December 1st, I received the news! Maricel and Pablo, married for six years, are finally expecting their first child in June. They welcomed the news after their vacation in the Philippines. No, it was not made in P.I.

To both of you, congratulations!

The computer world is here to assist us

We’re proud to announce that Higee will begin to write a column in the next issue of Dimension 1982. He is also in the process of adding our class reunion information on to his home page for further advertising of this event.

We’re in the process of discovering new ways to spread the news. If you have any suggestions, please send them in. So far, I have found only two e-mail addresses in Santiago, that of Michael Navarro and Joel Miranda. If any one of you know these two persons and can get their approvals to receive our newsletters for quicker distribution, please let us know.
