I send out lots of inquiries to guys asking if they'd be interested in trading swats, dozens, hundreds. Even though they are guys listed groups or directories of those supposedly interested in CP, I get very few responses. Most don't respond at all, or a couple write back, "Hey, that sounds cool." Then you never hear from them again. And then unexpectedly there's a surprise. Was searching through the directory at Spankboys for new listings. Found a few and sent out the usual, "Interested in trading swats?" with my stats. And out of the blue a 22 year old kid from not too far away responds. Tells me about two experiences he has had and says he'd be interested in getting together. We send a few messages back and forth, decide to meet at my place Wednesday morning. So I open my e-mail, and sure enough there's a message from him saying he has been called into work a little bit that morning, maybe we'd get together another time. Right. Been there. Let down. Oh well, go out and paint the fence. Write him a quick e-mail. Later in the day would be OK for me, or let me know another day. So an hour later, covered with paint, I check my e-mail, and damn if he hasn't responded sure he'd come by later. I tell him 2:30 at the nearby fast food place we agreed to meet. Well, surprise, surprise. It happened. He arrives right on time. Just a kid. Had his 22nd birthday the day before. Jeans and t- shirt, sun glasses, a cap. Kind of quiet, maybe a little nervous, but no more than me. Says he's willing to try it. So it's over to my place. The usual card game of low draw takes swats. He seemed to be enjoying it. Took his share. Needs a little practice giving, has to improve his aim. My hip is kind of sore. We chat, we laugh, we pound on each other and drink a couple beers. Just a nice summer afternoon. Happy to have met him. Says he's interested in trying it again. We'll see.
