Last month I went down to the local shopping
mall and I ran into a bunch of kids dressed like Mauler. Mauler,
for those of you who don’t know, is a brutal thug who wears lots of leather,
has half his face pierced with one thing or another and a large tattoo
on the other side. I stared at these kids and wondered, why the hell
are they idolizing this man? Then I realized what Mauler represented.
Mauler isn’t afraid of anyone; he isn’t afraid of the police, lawyers,
his mother. Only twenty people on the entire planet have a chance
of taking him down in a one-on-one fight. Mauler never had to grow
up because he never had to. No wonder kids love him.
