WWII Online Phase V Update February 22, 2001
By: Mystery
A massive update to the WWII Online forums over at Playnet was made by Chris Sherland, Producer for WW2O. Here's some of what he had to say:

Server issues have been keeping us on our toes. Integrating strat and mission system stuff into the host loop has been a major undertaking. It’s becoming more and more stable as we debug the combined comm. systems and it’s looking like we’ll be able to handle a lot of players without a problem. With the sheer size of this first environment you can imagine how much info needs to be managed, all the cities, bases, their ownership, status, players, their side, country, position, velocity, damage state…it goes on and on. Now if we can only find a few extra bits laying around for convoys and signposts :)

You can read the rest of the post, and the resulting thread, here.

PlanetSide New FAQ February 22, 2001
By: Mystery
Danny Han updated the FAQ on the official Planetside site yesterday. Here's some of what he added:

What happens when you die?
Players will have the ability to choose where they respawn, although the length of time that must elapse before a respawn can be initiated has yet to be determined.

What if the enemy camps out at respawn points?
Multiple respawn locations will be available to minimize this problem. If all else fails, players will also be able to respawn at their Main Base which almost always will be safe from enemy attack.

You can check out the rest of the FAQ here.
