What is Astrology? Astrology takes the position of the planets and stars and correlates these with the signs of the zodiac to provide quite accurate and individual results.  The individual horoscope, or natal chart, is actually a map of how the planets, sun and moon, appeared at the moment of birth. Man has always been fascinated with the stars and planets sensing that a connection with the "creator" lies in our exploration and understanding of the universe. Before the written word, thousands of years before recorded history, stories of civilizations based on the cycles of the Sun, Moon and stars can be recounted by every race. Astrology started before Babylon and spread throughout the world. It is the oldest science known to man and at one time was more highly regarded than medicine. However, with the rise of Christianity came the suppression of astrology.
I am giving you the easiest way to understand the chart of astrology!!
I will go in the order of the zodiac calendar, starting with Aries and ending with Pisces...

ARIES:     Aries (scroll down for your birth totem summary)

Dates:  March 21 through April 20
Name:  The Ram
Element:  Fire
Color:  Oranges and Red. That's what you like best, and that's what makes you look and feel your best. It also provides the energy you need when you're out there doing battle, which is what your warrior personality loves best. Remember, however, that colors affect our personalities and the type of magic we project in subtle, yet powerful, ways. Whether you're choosing it for a candle-burning or deciding what to wear, use red wisely. Red belongs to Mars, your ruling planet, the ancient god of war, and his is not an energy to be taken lightly.

Tarot:  Suit of Wands
Compatible Signs:
  Sagittarius and Leo
General Profile ~ You're initiating, bold and impatient, your fiery nature making you irresistible and exciting. While you can be impulsive and combative, you're the absolute leader of the pack; in team sports, business, friends and family. If you're an Aries, you're likely to be the most energetic life on the block! Aries is a Fire Sign, which means you get excited easily and you're always ready to run around doing anything fun. You get bored easily, and you're constantly fidgeting.  Aries is represented by the Ram, an animal with tons of energy and spirit -- and a bit of fight in them. Do you get mad fast and then get over it and move on just as quickly? Yes, you're a true Aries! Do you have a project needing a kick-start? Call an Aries, by all means. The leadership displayed by Aries is most impressive, so don't be surprised if they can rally the troops against seemingly insurmountable odds -- they have that kind of personal magnetism. An Aries won't shy away from new ground, either. Those born under this Sign are often called the pioneers of the Zodiac, and it's their fearless trek into the unknown that often wins the day. Aries is a bundle of energy and dynamism. With Aries ruling the head, face and brain, those born under this Sign need to be on the lookout for headaches and are well-served to take the occasional deep breath. Easily bored, need constant refreshment of new fuel; strong initiators and idea people who like to complete a project rapidly and keep on traveling; move and think quickly, often athletic, competitive, enjoy risk; desire to be # 1, or the only one working on a project; courageous spirit which encourages confidence in others; ardent romantics, prefer the chase to the long-haul relationship; lifelong lessons in patience. When it comes to Aries, it's truly a case of 'what you see is what you get.' The life of Aries is an open book, and those born under this cardinal sign just 'are' -- plain and simple. Think of them as the kids of the zodiac, the youthful, exuberant upstarts with boundless energy and ambition. Ruled by Mars, the planet of passion and ambition, Aries lives to move forward and to prove to a rapt world that they are strong and savvy. And Aries doesn't just move forward -- the Ram charges ahead, a competitive force to be reckoned with, filled with spirit and fire sign heat.  As a Ram, you figure things out by butting your head right into them, discovering the world through direct action and engaging wholeheartedly in life rather than hearing about it second-hand. You prefer to make your own mistakes, and since you're so independent, you also prefer to make your own mistakes ON YOUR OWN. While you're not the best team player, others rely on you to get things going. Watch your responses to and interactions with friends and coworkers: Others can find you intimidating (particularly your very healthy ego) and your very direct style can antagonize the more timid. And you may not even notice your effect on others, as you've got your eyes focused so intently on the prize. Keep in mind that while you're decidedly the center of your own world, the universe perceives things a bit differently; and watch that you toe that line between being assertive and being aggressive. But, of course, the Ram is also warm and vivacious, positive and passionate, full of fun and impulsive energy that attracts excitement and admirers. They're the kind of friend who will often respond with an emphatic 'Exactly! I totally agree!' While Aries can be centered on her- or himself, they've got a fabulous way of making those around them feel special, loved and inspired.
Traits: Energetic, impulsive, initiator, the doer, the rabble-rouser, firebrand, positive, irresistible, exciting, charming, passionate, red-hot energy, enthusiastic, courageous, decisiveness and enterprising

Green, of course, is quite empowering for you, it's the color of spring, your season. You're ruled by the lovely planet Venus, so you'll also be quite comfortable in pastels, but no matter what color you wear, your beauty and grace are the stuff legends are made of. Burn green candles to bring your natural gift for prosperity to life, and pastels to stimulate your artistic, musical side.

  Virgo, Cancer and Capricorn
General Profile ~  Taurus loves the rewards of the game. Think physical pleasures and material goods, for those born under this Sign revel in delicious excess. They are also a tactile lot, enjoying a tender, even sensual, touch. Taureans adore comfort and like being surrounded by pleasing, soothing things. You may be stubborn, but your grounded, steady demeanor makes you someone others can count on. If you're a Taurus you probably like to sit while everyone else runs around. Taurus is an Earth Sign, which means you like to eat food and you don't like to move too fast! In fact, you like to do everything when you're good and ready, and not a minute before. Taurus is represented by the Bull, a sturdy, tough animal that likes to move at its own pace. Just like you! Taureans far prefer to take each day slowly and steadily and work toward their ultimate goal. Along these lines, those born under this Sign are happy to stick with their projects until they have reached a successful conclusion. They are also extremely patient and dependable along the way. When it comes to love, the Taurus-born are devoted, romantic and somewhat possessive. Their sensual nature has a way of erasing any mistakes! Since Taurus rules the neck and throat, Bulls would be wise to keep a silky scarf at hand, ideally in a warm (and soothing) earth tone.  Physical appearance is attractive or handsome; takes special pleasure in luxurious items and places; sensual, particularly to touch and taste; slow and careful, deliberate, wary about change; must learn the difference between caution and sheer stubbornness; naturally stable; needs to work toward an organized plan; prefers long-term relationships; often musically talented; especially sensitive to financial security and will work toward that goal. Often misunderstood as either the thick, stolid Bull yoked like a pack animal or as the brutish, rampaging Bull in the china shop, Taurus is actually a little of both -- and much more. You're very concerned with your well-being (and a little afraid of becoming vulnerable), so you sometimes work overtime to accumulate the material possessions that make you feel safe. But you're also the most tactile of all signs, finding security through physical touch. Safety may be your goal, but your currency is sensation. Your instinctual yet deliberate attention to physical sensation makes you an amazing lover. You're also meticulously caring as a friend; you notice the needs of others and attend to them tenderly and affectionately. And once someone is your friend or honey, you're unwaveringly devoted. You move through the world quietly and calmly, listening intently to the advice of others and responding to the stimuli that make concrete sense. If it's too abstract or
vague, it's just not that important to you. You consider how to invest your energies very carefully, and because of your cautious approach to life, you rarely take major missteps. You're the eye of many a storm, tranquilly taking on even the hardest tasks in an almost Zen-like state, focused on completion. You may be happy, but others can misinterpret your serenity as disinterest. Tell the doubters that centeredness and focus are forms of passion!

Traits: Stubborn, steadfast, musical, somber, hard working, systematic, kind-hearted, patience, stability and persevering

Name:  The Twins
Element:  Air
Color:  Yellow, Pink, Violet and Silver: Since you so love having choices, it's no wonder you love each and every shade of the rainbow equally. Gemini is the sign of duality and diversity, born to wear coats of many colors, so your taste in clothing will show your love of variety.  For candle-burning, look to yellow or silver, colors as light as Mercury is on his feet. After all, he's the only god with wings.

General Profile ~
If you're a Gemini your mouth probably runs a mile a minute. Gemini is an Air Sign, which means you're full of ideas and love to talk to anyone and everyone. Your mind moves even faster than your mouth; you probably love to read and usually have three different books going at once. Gemini is represented by the Twins, which makes you great at settling disputes: you can always see both sides of an argument. You've also got a great sense of humor. You're flexible, flirty and inventive. Intelligent to the extreme, your idea of a good time is a lively conversation or a friendly debate. Thanks to the Twins' influence, you sometimes feel split in two directions and don't know what to do! Since Gemini's are a mix of the yin and the yang, they are represented perfectly by the Twins. The Gemini-born can easily see both sides of an issue, a wonderfully practical quality. Less practical is the fact that you're not sure which Twin will show up half the time. Gemini's may not know who's showing up either, which can prompt others to consider them fickle and restless. Even though their intellectual minds can rationalize forever and a day, Gemini's also have a surplus of imagination waiting to be tapped. Can a Gemini be boring? Never! They can be wishy-washy, changing their mood on a simple whim. It's this characteristic which readily suggests the Mutable Quality assigned to this Sign. Mutable folks are flexible and go with the flow. Further, the Twins are adaptable and dexterous and can tackle many things at once. It's a good thing, too, when you consider their myriad interests. The downside of such a curious mind, however, can be a lack of follow-through.  Restless nature, bores easily, uncomfortable in an enclosed environment; bright, alert, good vocabulary, enjoys learning for its own sake.  Retentive memory for facts and languages, good at trivia, may skim the surface of whatever is being studied but covers a wide territory;  facile talker, sometimes stretches the truth to make a good story; social, outgoing, mercurial and adaptable; needs to learn to finish projects; would choose to have both spouse and lover if possible; multifaceted and prefers to do more than one thing at a time. Communication is Gemini's focus and for those of you born under this mutable air sign, it's probably the source of much of your personal pleasure AND pain. Since you channel so much of your energy into the spoken and written word, being understood becomes the crux of your existence. An endless stream of words, ideas, images and insights keep you restlessly seeking knowledge -- you're always curious and always exploring books, your surroundings and the people around you. It's as though you're both hyperaware of how much goes on in the world and obsessed with knowing about it all! If you're not careful, you could scatter your energies by not taking enough time to know any one thing or person well. Find ways to concentrate: Practice meditation, yoga or just remind yourself to take a deep breath now and then. You also risk annoying others with your chatter and inquisitiveness. Quiet down once in a while; you could have a fear of silences, so you may blab away to avoid them. Listen mindfully to what's being said, and you'll realize that there's no need to fill the gaps.
Traits: Restless, versatile, clever, exuberant, artist, inventor, curious, dexterity and expressive

General
Profile ~  If you're a Cancer, you like to stay home a lot, close to your parents and your siblings. Cancer is a Water Sign, which means you're emotional and sensitive. This can be a good thing: You're very artistic and creative, and loyal to those you love. Family is really important to you. Plus, you're so moody, you can run back and forth between happiness and sensitive grumpiness countless times in a day! After all, Cancer is represented by the Crab; why do you think they call it "crabby"? You're deeply emotional and intuitive, and your top concern is family. Something of a homebody, you prefer to stay in rather than go out on the town. You can be moody, drawing into your protective shell if things get too intense around you. Attuned to emotions and feelings of self and others; often alternate between introversion and extroversion; strong appreciation for the earth and its natural resources; protective of personal security and also any persons who are included in the "inner circle"; loyal and devoted lovers and parents; good cooks; prone to weight difficulty; will work to make the living environment cozy; must learn to stabilize emotions. You tend to present a harder demeanor to the rest of the world, and you don't let the real you come to the surface. But Cancers are deeply sensitive and vulnerable on the inside -- that protective shell of yours is crucial for your sanity! Because of this polarity, Cancer has a reputation as the moodiest sign of the Zodiac. Cancers can be the most gentle, caring people in the world. You have a motherly quality about you, and you love to nurture and ensure that everyone is cared for properly. But beware insulting a Cancer or loved one ~ the Crab's bite can sting! Cancers are also known for having an excellent memory. Though a fight might eventually be forgiven, it will never be forgotten. But then, Cancer, you never forget kindness either. And you're more than happy to repay someone with generosity of your own. Crabs love everything to do with food from cooking it to serving it to eating it! This goes right along with your homebody tendencies.  Cancers like anything having to do with the home, and you feel most secure and comfortable when you're settled somewhere. A cozy place to live is sure to bring out your best side, and tone down some of those emotional extremes. On the romantic side of things, you can be a shy, sensitive soul with a romantic but easily bruised heart. Cancers desire big, romantic love, but you may avoid putting yourself out there for fear of getting hurt. So rather than make the first move, you seem to wait for your Prince or Princess Charming to come along and sweep you off to happily ever after. But don't forget the old saying that it's better to have loved and
lost than never to have loved at all. Don't be afraid to start taking some chances.

Dates:  July  23  through  August  23
Name:  The Lion
Element:  Fire
Color:  Orange, Yellow, Gold and Red. Red appeals to you most, Leo, and suits your temperament, too. Remember that red is a power color, though, and you're already quite a powerful sign, so go easy. You'll probably also have a special fondness for yellow and gold, the colors of your planet, the Sun. These are ideal choices for candle-burning, as they'll conjure the warmth and light your sign is famous for.

Planet:  The Sun
Gem:  Ruby, Amber, Sardonyx, Jade, Jacinth, Tourmaline, Peridot and Diamond. When it comes to gems and stones, the royal ruby springs to mind immediately, but have it set in that most royal of all metals -- gold. Nothing suits a legend better

Tarot:  Suit of Wands
Compatible Signs:
  Sagittarius and Aries
General Profile ~  If you're a Leo, you love drama and being the center of attention! Leo is a Fire Sign, which means you have a bottomless well of energy. You're the hit at all the parties, since you're fun and sunny and all your friends love to laugh at your jokes. Parties are your favorite, you love to make everyone around you happy and at ease. You also love sports of all kinds and you tend to be the leader. Leo is represented by the Lion, a proud, golden animal commonly called the King of the Jungle. You're stubborn yet impulsive. You're also showy, dramatic and sometimes vain. You have a sunny demeanor and love to be the center of your loved ones' adoration. You'd make a great actor; in fact, many actors are born under a Leo Sun. Warm, generous, open spirit; strong leaders, readily noticed whenever they enter a room; enjoy being center stage; regal appearance and often a dramatic personality; strong pride and occasionally arrogant; susceptible to flattery and easily embarrassed; good follow-through, will see a project to its conclusion; often artistic and creative; natural understanding of children; loyal and ardent lovers; may make fun of themselves, but won't appreciate others doing so. When a Leo enters the room, everything seems to brighten up. Like their kingly symbol, the lion, Leos are known for their courageous spirit, but it's their infectious exuberance that everyone remembers. You live life to its fullest, and your constant stream of energy manifests itself as a natural warmth that makes you a joy and comfort to be around. One of your mantras could be 'Work hard, play hard,' as you have a strong work ethic, but you also believe in the art of entertainment. Whether you find yourself with a career in the arts, or just consider it your  job to entertain whoever's nearby, the lion always manages to find a way into the spotlight. But perhaps the compliments should end there, a Leo, you do sometimes
let praise go to your head.  Leos struggle to understand that not everyone shares their beliefs and values. You are extremely loyal, and you have difficulties realizing that not everyone is as dedicated as you. These lions are also adamant about keeping their flamboyant personality front and center. You would be horrified if anyone realized just how vulnerable you actually are. But be careful with your act. Don't go overboard to protect yourself all the time. People like you for who you are and
sometimes it might even be easier to just sit back, watch and listen to others. When these strong traits get mixed into a steamy affair, playful Leo turns out to be quite the interesting lover! You are uninhibited sexually, and you can have both a manipulative and a romantic streak. Your partner won't know what hit them! But perhaps this is all part of your act, too. Although you have a tough exterior, you desperately need love, and when that certain someone successfully wins your heart, you will be loyal and committed for life.

Color:  Gray, Purple, Deep Royal Blue or Navy Blue. In general, Virgo, since you're an earth sign, the earth tones suit you best -- green, tan, and amber in particular -- lovely colors to wear while tending your herb garden or sipping a cup of steaming chamomile tea. For candle-burning, choose a deep green or pink to promote good health

The agate and aventurine are your birthstones, both of which are associated with Mercury, the planet you share with Gemini. Agates come in all colors, but the type that seems to correspond best with your sign is the moss agate, a lovely clear stone with feathery green fern-like threads running through it. This stone is also well suited to gardening.

Tarot:  Suit of Pentacles
Compatible Signs:
Capricorn and Taurus
General Profile ~ You're flexible, yet practical. You get a kick out of organization and anything that puts your analytical mind to use. Watch out for perfectionism! Virgos feel and operate best in a position in which they can help others. Virgos are possessed of an ability to reason clearly, resolve issues and take a romance to new heights. With Virgo, it's all in the details and doing things right. If you're a Virgo, you might be a little bit shy around strangers, but with those you know and love you're sweet, warm and sympathetic. Virgo is an Earth Sign, which means you're honest, reliable and down-to-earth. You like facts, both analyzing them and challenging them! You might be a bit picky, too. You know what you like and that's that! You might like to be alone more than other people. You thrive when you're left alone to read, think or do any other quiet, solitary activity.  Sensitive to the environment with delicate nervous systems; particularly susceptible to dietary issues; usually sweet-natured and tactful, self-effacing, quiet; strong need for order and routine; ability to organize, though this activity is a nuisance; good at research and inductive reasoning; sometimes gets caught in details and misses the bigger picture; the Inner Critic is the worst enemy.  Usually marry, but actually are often happier in the single life. Virgo has been called 'picky,' 'critical' and 'petty' for far too long. Well, here's where it ends. You certainly are into details. But that doesn't mean you don't care about others; you care so much about helping them look, sound and be their best that you're willing to risk coming off as 'picky' or 'critical' to do it, which is quite a sacrifice. You have an extremely tender heart, you're always willing to help and your keen eye for details allows you to take charge of even the toughest situation. Now, when you're that good at particulars, it's quite natural for you to see flaws, hence your reputation for being critical and nitpicky. Because of you, we see the trees in the forest. We all need trouble-shooters in our lives, someone who's able to see the potential problems in a situation before they develop, and that's definitely you. Just know that you're appreciated, and that your ability to see tiny details is precious, even if people can't always express that.
When it comes to relationships, you're as devoted as a sign can possibly be, willing to do whatever it takes whenever it's needed to let your beloved know just how dear they are to you. You're also the proud owner of one of the keenest wits in the entire zodiac, thanks to your sharp eye and your quick, accurate comments. As a partner, you're as faithful as they come (like all the earth signs) and not nearly as 'virginal' as you're made out to be. Being earthy, after all, means that you were given the gift of knowing just how to use that sense of touch. Don't be afraid to touch who and what you love, let them know how valuable they are to you.

Aquarius and Gemini
General Profile ~ If you're a Libra, you probably have tons of friends! Libra is an Air Sign, which means that you love to talk, and others like you because of how smart you are. Libras are all about balance, so you get along well with everybody. You want people to be happy, and you don't like to argue. The hardest thing for you is making up your mind. That's just like a Libra! You like to look good, but you'll go through everything in your closet before you choose the right outfit  You have an eye for beauty, Libra, and you'd make a great artist. You're romantic but particular, diplomatic but indecisive, but ultimately happiest when you're in love. You don't really like to be alone, period. You abhor conflict, and have a highly developed sense of objectivity and conflict resolution.  Very bright and social; effective with language; deliberate about practicing social skills and manners; good at arbitration and diplomacy, searches for win-win solutions that make everyone happy; desires peace at any cost, even if it means stifling personal feelings or attitudes; avoids conflict or competition; more comfortable with intellect than emotions; performs best when sharing activity with a partner or peer; struggles with parenthood until children are old enough to communicate; will move to balance anything, including a relationship, which seems off-center. You, Libra, are a smiling representative of the planet Venus, the planet that represents love, beauty, harmony and cooperation. As such, you're always ready to do what you can to smooth things over, make peace and bring warning factions together. It's not an easy job, but you're good at it ~ really good. When you're with people you love, there's nothing you wouldn't do to keep them happy. You never barge through the door first, take the last piece of turkey on the plate or forget to write thank-you notes promptly.  You're the person we all think of first when we're planning a party or any social event, for that matter.  Contrary to popular opinion, however, you don't drift peacefully from one 'balanced' situation to the next. If you did, you'd never learn your real job: restoring balance. Libras aren't born with that knack, they're born being able to learn how to fix the scales in any situation when they're out of whack. That makes you an expert at bringing peace and harmony to even the most unbalanced situations. It's not an easy job, and you're often more worried about it than you'll let on. Being born with the ability to see both sides of an issue isn't always a gift, especially when someone calls on you for an opinion. You need to realize (especially when it comes to relationships) that keeping the peace at all times just isn't always possible, no matter how hard you try. Still, we can't do any better than
you for a partner. You're devoted sometimes even to a fault and always willing to change your plans to fit what your beloved wants to do. Just be sure not to lose yourself (or your friends, who could get tired of waiting around) in the process. Since you're so lovely to be around, however, you'll never be alone if you don't want to be. You're as social as a sign could possibly be, and adored by one and all.

Black is also associated with your ruling planet, Pluto, and red with Mars, who took care of Scorpio before Pluto arrived. When candle-burning, be careful with those colors, however -- they truly are powerful colors. To purify or bring peace to an over-focused mind, burn white candles.

General Profile ~   If you're a Scorpio, other people will see you as mysterious and very, very interesting. Scorpio is a Water Sign, which means that you're emotional and feel things more than other people your age. You may have a lot of secrets, but you won't tell a soul. Scorpions like to keep their lives to themselves  and that just makes you seem like you know more than others. You're totally loyal to your friends and family, but you may not take it well if someone does something mean or careless to you.  Intense and emotionally perceptive, you pick up on unspoken words and speak the language of gesture. Deep, mysterious and magnetically attractive, you yearn for emotional intimacy. If hurt, you really sting -- and you don't forgive easily!  Deeply attuned to the emotional condition of self and others; highly intuitive; acutely aware of words or people whom they sense as false or insincere; readily go to battle over injustice; enjoy the mysterious; prone to personal secrecy; slow to genuine anger, but long on resentment, once offended; attracted to the healing arts and spiritual pursuits, or may take the road of financial management. You're the most intense, focused sign out there, Scorpio, with a well-deserved reputation for never, ever quitting, no matter how tough the situation is or how difficult the project might be. You've also been gifted with a perceptivity that's second to none. In fact, if anyone dares to question you, they'll be quickly put in their place and it definitely won't happen again! You have a knack for automatically sifting through every situation for subtle clues the rest of us might miss, and for analyzing them carefully to find their real meaning. This ability to rerun details over and over again in your head will keep you awake nights, but you'll also be able to figure out puzzles no one else can even come close to solving. You can easily alter any situation by manipulating it with just the right word, gesture or suggestion. You want 'the real stuff' from all your encounters and you won't settle for anything less. As a friend, you're absolutely unbeatable. You're quite literally willing to walk through fire for the ones you love. If someone gets on your bad side, however, they'll have to deal with the sting of the scorpion which, as everyone
knows, is fatal. Not literally of course, but it does mean that with just one glance, the object of your anger may feel as if they'd received a lethal bite! Once you're done with someone, you're done. There's no going back. You may forgive enough to be civil in public, but you'll never forget, and every encounter with someone who betrayed you will prove that. You won't let them out of your sight, even if it means watching them surreptitiously in a mirror or window. As a lover? Well, let's just say your talents and appetites in that department are legendary, to say the least. This part of your reputation is also well-deserved. Your sign is the sexiest and most passionate in the heavens, as your fortunate lovers will be happy to attest.

Dates:  November  23  through  December  21
Name:  The Archer
Element:  Fire
Color:  Blue-Green, Lilac, Mauve, Indigo, Gold - Red, Light Blue and purple, and that's the best color for you to use when working with candles to increase your prophetic talents and insight. Deep, royal purple is the color of wisdom, and Sagittarius wants to learn everything. When you're choosing anything other then clothing, you're more likely to choose a variety of colors than a single one. This makes sense -- variety, after all, is the spice of life, and no sign quite loves life the way that you do.

Tarot:  Suit of Wands
Compatible Signs:
  Gemini, Aries, Leo and Sagittarius
General Profile ~  If you're a Sagittarius, you're not just the funniest, smartest, you're also the one with the most bumps and bruises. Sagittarius is a Fire Sign, which means that you're creative, active and lots of fun to be around. Because you're so active, you're always getting into some kind of scrape. Take it slow and wear a helmet, Sagittarius! Learning is fun for you, but you sometimes get bored. You just want to get outside! You love adventure and animals almost more than people. Don't let it get you down if other people can't keep up with you or your constant questions. There are plenty of people looking for a fun friend like you! You're impulsive and inquisitive, needing travel and constant exposure to new foods, people, landscapes and things to do. Change is one thing you can't do without; you are a truth-seeker, and will go to the ends of the earth to find answers! Sagittarians are truth seekers, focused intensely on learning about their lover and exploring them more deeply. These versatile and charming folks enjoy taking a long drink from the cup of life, something which also makes them exceedingly flirtatious and great social animals. Those born under this sign are intuitive, and as a result, have a good sense of what and who they want. Sagittarius is a philosopher, wanderer and explorer who insists on living life to the fullest. The zest for adventure and quest for knowledge they possess will move many. Only independent folk need apply for this red-hot ride!  Restless nature, bores easily; loves to travel, often athletic and needs to be outdoors; exploration is the spice of life, whether mental or in the body; optimistic, often has good fortune just when it is needed the most; may be a risk-taker; interested in theoretical and philosophical fields; naturally gifted teacher; difficulty with follow-through, procrastination, and commitments; prefers to keep all options open; temptation to move on without materializing results; often leans toward the single life. Breezy and outgoing, but not the best in the concentration department. Likes to flit both socially and artistically-trying first this, then that. Many acquaintances, but few real friends. Loves to be on the move and variety IS their spice of life! Inclines toward religion and philosophy, very talkative. If female, this is the 'tomboy", if male likes adventures in natural surroundings. Has big ups and bigger downs, sometimes all within the same five minutes. Don't goad them into a real rage-you wouldn't like them when they are angry.
You, Sag, know how to live the 'good life.' You're the most casual, laid-back, easygoing sign out there, famous for your humor, love of life and ability to see the silver lining in any cloud, no matter how dark it happens to be. Speaking of humor, there's absolutely nothing you won't do for a laugh, especially if you have an appreciative audience, which isn't hard for you to find. You're definitely the life of the party -- in fact, getting several Sagittarians together at a party is an outright guarantee that it will run very, very late, be very, very loud and be the event everyone talks about for months to come.
Needless to say, you're also famous for being a tad on the excessive side -- okay, more than just a tad. In the Sag mind, if one is good, then two would be great and several would be just perfect! That goes for anything in any category, so self-restraint, willpower and discipline are ongoing challenges. But then the reason you're so beloved is because you don't see boundaries -- none that you can't easily break through, anyway. You're famous for pushing the envelope, for taking everything to the absolute nth degree -- and for having a wonderfully contagious laugh.
When it comes to friendships, you have a wide and varied array of companions, not just from other cities or states, but other countries, too. You enjoy a variety of viewpoints, and there's nothing that appeals to you more than an accent, except possibly a good debate. In relationships, you're famously honest, funny and easy to be with -- although you may be a bit fickle, especially in your early years. You have only one fear the loss of your freedom, it's not easy to tie you down. Of course, once you find someone whose sense of humor, wit, intelligence, curiosity and love of travel rivals your own, then, that's someone you can live with  (literally) long-term. One thing is for sure: Whoever lands you will never be bored, will always be happy and will thank the heavens for the day they found you!

Traits: Impulsive, optimistic, philosophical, jovial, candid, restless, freedom lovers, impatient, generous, curious, travel, inquisitive, knowledge-seeking

Tarot:  Suit of Pentacles
Compatible Signs:
  Taurus, Virgo and Libra
General Profile ~  If you're a Capricorn, people are always thinking you're older than you really are. Capricorn is an Earth Sign, which really does mean that you're down-to-earth. You like to have two or three best friends you can tell your secrets to, but you'd prefer to sit quietly with a book, getting yourself ahead of the game. You're a natural leader, so think about starting a club based on your interests. You're motivated, determined and practical. You see no need to take unnecessary risks. Capricorn's energy can seem conservative and cautious. Concerned with responsibilities, strict about fairness and determined to be taken seriously, the Sea Goat can make a less than thrilling first impression. Career is a major concern for you; advancement and recognition are alluring concepts. You are ambitious and strong, but also somewhat conservative. The worker bees of the Zodiac are Capricorns, an ambitious and determined lot who are willing to do what it takes to get what they want. Capricorns represent the middle age of life, a time of hard-earned wisdom and self-assessment, a time when security and accountability become key. Those born under this sign, like the other earth signs Taurus and Virgo, are not afraid of hard work or of patient progress toward a distant but worthwhile goal.  Strong leadership ability; generates ideas, delegates the details to others, and moves toward fresh pasture; may be perceived by other signs as lazy, but mainly has a desire to accomplish everything with greatest efficiency; matures early in life, detests the condition of being a child; tendency toward conservative attitudes; high goal setters, rarely satisfied with results; internally emotional, but sometimes appear cold and distant, interested only in the business at hand;  loyal and committed in love, but often undemonstrative; may appear distancing. Yours is the most stable, stoic and responsible of all the signs, Capricorn, fond of discipline, order, rules and boundaries. But does that mean you don't know how to have fun?  Absolutely not! Contrary to popular opinion, you don't spend all your time shaking your finger and saying things like 'better not,' 'shouldn't' and 'let's not rush into this.' You've got the wittiest, driest sense of humor out there,
but it's intelligent humor, so much of what you say may zip right over the head of the average bear. Still, there's definitely a serious side to you and when you buckle down to work, there's no distracting you from your mission. You're a born leader, and you know it. Of course, so does the rest of world so you're often put in
the driver's seat, both literally and figuratively. You probably don't mind in fact, you may secretly even enjoy it. Your sign is the personal property of Saturn, the ringed planet, who's famous for playing by the rules, having a no-nonsense attitude and never letting anything slide. Talk about dotting all the i's and crossing all the t's! You're an expert in that department and you know how to prioritize, too. Never let yourself forget that as an earth sign, you've been gifted with an appreciation for the good things in life and that includes sensuality.  So the next time someone accuses you of being cold, or more into rules and regulations than having fun, remind them that you're an earth sign, and earth is all about touching. Oh, and say that with a smile. Charm, after all, is built into all the earth signs. Speaking of charm, there's really nothing like being romanced by a Capricorn. Your lucky companion will be treated to the best of everything from limos and elegant dinners out to thoughtful gifts and amazingly well-planned adventures. And if you're romancing someone, there's no doubt that you're interested in a long-term relationship.
You're not after anything that even remotely smacks of a fling. You want permanence and a total commitment nothing less. Once you're involved, your partner also won't ever have to worry that you'll stray. There's no lover more devoted than a Capricorn. You're a rare commodity. Make sure you're appreciated.

Name:  The Water Bearer
Element:  Air
Color:  Electric Blue. It's noticeable even in the darkest places, you see, and you certainly do love to stand out in a crowd. You're probably fond of other shades of blue, also (and they're all wonderful colors for use in candle rituals). Try sky blue to help with communication, since your ruling planet, Uranus, holds jurisdiction over the skies.

Although your birthstone is the amethyst, your energies seem to blend well with stones that conduct ideas. Try aventurine to enhance mental clarity and sphere, a greenish stone that's also reputed to help in processing information.

Tarot:  Suit of SWORDS
Compatible Signs:
  Libra, Gemini and Aries
General Profile ~ You possess a quick intellect and an expansive mind keen on innovation and progressive thought. You're a rebel, but one who really needs people around. You have tons of friends, but you tend not to get too intimate with any one person. If you're an Aquarius, you have a zillion friends of all kinds. Aquarius is an Air Sign, which means that you know how to talk to others. People like you not only because you're smart and full of fun ideas, but also because you always have the latest gadgets and computer games. You're a quick thinker, and you like to question the way things are. That's good, Aquarius -- the world needs people like you! Think about a career as a politician or activist for some cause you really believe in. When you talk, everybody listens! These independent souls are a fountain of ideas, forever dazzling friends and other groups with their quicksilver mind and humanitarian spirit. Mental fireworks are the sexiest kind for the oft-overflowing Water Bearer, and they are captivated by a lover who shares their quest for a better world.  Very bright and most comfortable in the world of the mental, theoretical; good at developing an information network and generous about connecting those they feel should meet together; sensitive to the needs of the group or larger social order; idealistic and strives to make a difference in the world; good sense of long term future trends, often think light years beyond their time; tendency to the absent minded professor syndrome--may appear completely out to lunch about the common activities and objects of life.

Amethyst has always been your stone of choice -- it's the stone of peace, and that's right up your alley.

Tarot:  Suit of Cups
Compatible Signs:
  Cancer, Scorpio and Virgo
General Profile ~  If you're a Pisces, you like to get lost in your daydreams, don't you? Pisces is a Water Sign, which means that you are very sensitive to other peoples' feelings and to the world around you. You sense things that others don't notice, and you have the heart of a poet -- you really should write down all the little things you see throughout your day. You do well in art and you have a lively imagination. You're empathetic, openhearted and intuitive. You rely on your instincts rather than facts or logic, experiencing things almost completely subjectively. Daydream and creative, you prefer to go with the flow rather than fight the current.  Intuitive, emotional, imaginative, artistic or musical; flows easily between the realms of the conscious and unconscious mind, dream life vivid and informative; naturally mystical; deep need to remain connected to spiritual life, though often not attached to traditional forms of worship; temptation to dependencies on others or on chemical substances; compassionate and strongly affected by color and the emotional environment; must learn how to protect the self from manipulators; adaptable, flexible, and creative. You practically defy description, Pisces. You're a mutable water sign ruled by dreamy Neptune, and you're a native of the twelfth house of the unconscious. You change your colors (and your mind!) so often you're hardly recognizable. Your chameleon-like adaptability to your surroundings sometimes gets mistaken for naiveté, but it's not like you choose to view the world through rose-colored glasses; you just float through life so gently, and so filled with hope, that those around you are fooled into thinking you don't know what's going on. Little do they know your wheels are turning all the time; they may
be turning differently, but they're always turning -- with intuition, imaginings and spot-on insights. Your vast inner life can occasionally be overwhelming, but it's ultimately enriching. You face everything with your emotions bared -- thought, logic and action all come after the initial emotional response. Some people may try
to take advantage of this, and you won't be able to rely on shyness, generosity and good intentions to ward off those with less than pure motivations. On the other hand, being so sensitive makes you perfectly suited to the arts. Your ability to project yourself onto your creations is innate; music, art and dramatic performance are all fabulous ways for showing and telling the world who you are without having to declare it directly. Pisces is one of those hard to understand signs that we define with words like "dreamy," "foggy," "illusion," "dissolution," "psychic," and "prison" - all of which carry negative connotations. In fact, Pisces and its polar opposite Virgo get an unfair amount of negative press for very opposite reasons - of course. Where Virgo is considered nitpicky and vigilant, Pisces is thought to be abstract and vague - hard to understand, difficult to grasp, slippery. Words like abundant, prosperous, and flourish also define the state of being successful, so we can think of success as another quality of Pisces. We frequently see a strong Pisces influence in birth charts of musicians, actors, and artists. Pisces, like the oceans it symbolizes, is also "abundant," "prosperous," and "flourishing." Pisces is a mutable sign, and it holds a cadent house position (Twelfth House) in the natural horoscope. Cadence means to fall; in music, it's the close of a musical phrase. In astrology, mutable (meaning to change) and cadent apply to the sign and month that close a season, in this case - winter.

BIRTH TOTEM SIGNS:

A birth totem is similar to an astrological sign of the zodiac. Your birth totem can tell you many things about your personality, your attitudes, your abilities and your short comings. An animal totem is simply an animal or group of animals that a person identifies with spiritually. They can also be called animal guides. One of the most delightful inner connections that many people enjoy is with what we identify as Animal Spirits or Totems. That this experience and tradition goes back many thousands of years is shown by such evidence as the fact that 9 of the 12 Zodiac symbols are animals, there are archeological records indicating the use of Totem Spirits in almost every area of the Globe and dating from as far back as 3200 ACE and as recently as 100 years ago. It is also supported by the vast amount of corroborative lore supplied by, Norse and Celtic Mythology, Japanese Folklore, Australian Aboriginal teachings, Native American scholars, and spiritual development teachings from all areas of the world The spirits of these animals chose to dwell with your own spirit and stay with you throughout your lifetime. It is believed by many that you do not choose what animal you are spiritually connected to. But some do believe that you choose your totem, and they also choose you.

Earth
Adonis - amaranth - barley - comfrey - grain - hops - ivy - maize (corn) - licorice - millet - oak - oats - rice - all roots - rye - wheat

Jupiter
These are the natural benefactors of all the herbs, having an innate sense of bringing into our lives just what we need. (Also needed is the awareness to perceive these opportunities and benefits.) Remedially, they rule the liver, blood (along with Venus), vitality, attitudes, the manufacture of adrenalin, and fats. Jovian herbs (herbs of Jupiter) are good for those desiring growth.  Taking these herbs as a tonic brings an understanding of how the individual relates to the 'system' and to make use of it for personal advantage without violating ethics. They are excellent for those who pursue the study of ritual, for they provide a conscious link between the microcosm of the Circle and the macrocosm of the Universe, with understanding of how they are both part of the perfect balance. Herbs of Jupiter are said to give tact, and are excellent for office managers, diplomats, and any professional who must give knowledge and advice to people. These herbs are recommended for those unable to give of the self, or who go through emotional upheaval on occasions of gift-giving. They allow people to both give and receive with good feelings and an understanding of karma. For those trained in serious Magical workings, I would highly recommend reading Hurley's 'Herbal Alchemy', in which he gives several planetary formulae for Jovian herb mixtures.

Mars
These herbs are used to heal muscle strain, external sex organs, and for force and vitality. They add a desire for momentum to one's life, and are used to cure lethargy, although the mixture should include other herbs to bring a sense of direction and focus, as well.  These herbs are very basic, as they relate to the sexual organs, and as they affect the inner person, for they contain energy similar to that of survival. They release the instinctive quality of the Moon in order to preserve the self. If one desires a great tonic, try herbs of the Sun with herbs of Mars. Martial herbs always impart a strong energy, and when combined with those of the Sun, it is more focused and directed. It is easier for the self to manifest the energy to accomplish goals and achieve desires.  Magically, Martial herbs relate to manifestation, by learning how to be the 'divine' and see Magic occur on the physical planes. Hurley tells us that for powerful manifestation, mix herbs of Mars, the Moon, and Mercury. The herbs of Mars give us more activity, and a sense of being with other active people. They are recommended for those suffering from apathy, a sense of uselessness, boredom, wastefulness, and are most useful for athletes and those whose jobs require physical exertion.

Mercury
These herbs have been associated with the brain, nervous system, respiratory system, throat, nerve sensations, defects of speech, memory, and of the tongue. They are essential for those who have difficulty in thinking or communicating. Some say the Mercurial planets govern the bowels (particularly for Virgos), lungs and hands (particularly for Gemini). The herbs of Mercury will have an effect upon the intellectual processes, such as those of thinking, logic, reasoning, and conclusion-reaching. Regular use of these herbs makes the process more facile, keeping the mind sharp and alert. This is particularly effective when working on books or a particular project, but not for prolonged use, for then they lose their effectiveness.  For those who pursue spiritual paths, these herbs help one to understand the balance of conscious and subconscious, and should be taken in equal mixtures with solar and lunar herbs. This brings to the person a sense of integration, and an ability to flow with the meaning of life. For the Magical practitioner, these herbs do well to be balanced with lunar herbs or Uranian herbs, thus enabling the self to bring forth the ideas and answers found through intuition. Usually, one of the stumbling blocks in this process is learning to translate intuitive feelings into conscious words. In ritual use, the power of the word is learned, and also the value of holding true to the words we have given.

Moon
These herbs are for emotions and instincts. They help us to realize our ability to love. Their energy is like divine ecstasy. For the prognostic, these herbs remedially govern the uterus and ovaries, the breasts, the stomach and parts of the brain, and the esophagus. They are often used to treat coughs and colds.   These herbs work with the subconscious mind, and are of value for those who work to develop their intuition. They may help us to understand our childhood, even those parts which we hated, yet are essential to our health and maturity as adults. Thus, we are better able to understand those feelings which cause fear and inhibit our ability to love and be loved.  They bring a higher degree of sensitivity, and increase the childlike wonder of imagination. They are excellent for diseases caused by fear of change or lack of imagination. They are good for those whose limited vision causes stress and inflexibility.  These herbs help us to flow with the rhythm of life about us, as the ocean and earth flow with the tides of the Moon. They are good for soothing domestic troubles, and for the woman who serves a family and is not appreciated.

Neptune
These herbs should work well with the kidneys and systems which pass fluids within the body. In some ways they work in similar fashion to those of Venus. They also rule the spinal canal and the parathyroid. For those who have a limited sense of vision, Neptunian herbs open the mind to a greater sense of vision, in which we may find avenues to escape destructive boredom. They bring an ability to dream, both when asleep, and awake. They increase creative imaginative processes, and are the herbs of artists seeking new ideas. They lead to the visions, and other herbs will enable one to put them into manifestation.  Herbs of Neptune have been used to enhance astral travel, but may only do so when reality is held in one's mind at the same time, for they can lead to dependency. They are best used as a key, learning as one flows through the astral realms, but only for brief periods at a time, for that form of psychic travel is only of value when it can be experienced independently of physical assistance, including herbs.
ocean plants, such as seaweed. Psychic Efforts, Dreams, Intuition. Mysticism, music, imagination, dance, illusion, sacrifice, service oil, chemicals, paint, drugs, anesthesia, sleep, religious experience, matters related to Pisces and the Twelfth House

Pluto
These herbs affect our sexual drive and desire to procreate. They work upon our deepest senses of motivation, based upon childhood training and influences, and can have a real and profound effect upon our lives, although the changes which will manifest do so slowly. They affect our understanding of the need to preserve life, not self preservation, as with Mars, for herbs of Pluto relate to generations. Thus, they help to understand racial and cultural preservation, and the reaching out to embrace humanity.  They are recommended for those who have lost sexual desire and drive, and for those who feel frustration when working with groups of people. Remedially, they are used to stimulate sexual drive, and to increase procreation.

Saturn
These herbs deal with structure. Remedially, this means the skeletal system, ligaments, teeth, and possibly hearing and the gall bladder. Esoterically, their energy proves a source of grounding, or bringing one's feet back to earth. They will settle our attitudes, making us more willing to be stable, and are recommended for those given to excessive daydreams and who get lost in their flights of fancy. These herbs balance karma, helping us to understand cause and effect, and showing us how to bring discipline into our lives to accomplish goals that will give us increased freedom. They are recommended for those unable to complete projects, and for those who are unable to translate ideas into manifestations and action. Elixirs made of Saturnian herbs help us to manifest our Magic on the earth, and when mixed with Mercurial herbs give us a sense of tradition, as handed down through mysteries, Magic, and religion. Working with Saturn must be done with caution. These herbs can be used to induce change when a person is too caught in a rut, but it will involve letting go of much of the past, until dependency upon the past is alleviated. Only then will the person be free, and able to take both from the future and past to achieve a new and better life.

Sun
Herbs of the Sun give our inner self a sense of future. They will help us to better realize our goals. In prognostics they are said to heal the sides of the body, the right eye of men, the left eye of women (which may be sexist and needs exploring on a personal level), and the back. Solar herbs are excellent for those who have trouble with their self-image, and who suffer illness because they are afraid of dealing with the public. Herbs of the Sun will build self-confidence and an ability to complete one's goals. Remedially they also govern the spleen, thyroid, spine and the vital fluids of the body.
For those of us who have trouble understanding our place in the world, these herbs will help us to realize how we are one of many, and know that there is divine work. It helps the individual to see his or her life as being part of a large plan in which each person is essential to the harmony of the universe. These herbs help to strengthen the ego. They are often associated with Christ and other Sun Gods, helping us to be strong in our purpose, and good in our intent. These are recommended for depression, inferiority complexes, and fear of the world around. They help us to be generous with our love and our energy, and seeing all, even those of whom we disapprove, as part of life, each essential and capable of choice.
For those in need of ambition, independence, and the ability to take charge, solar herbs should be taken with the sunrise. These are the herbs which help us to get in touch with the self, and to find that process joyful. Even though we may be fault-finding when examining the self, we know that growth is a life-long process, and we should see the self compassionately as evolving gradually toward perfection. We may be joyful creatures, if we view ourselves as becoming better and better

These herbs govern the nervous system, many areas of the brain, and nerve impulses. They are used for those suffering from agitation, a too inflexible attitude, and a need for mental freedom. Working with these herbs brings inspiration and an ability to follow one's feelings in trying new endeavors. They bring a lighter approach to life, and are useful in alleviating depression.  Magically, they allow us to trust our impulses, and to follow divine insight. They are good in learning to work with symbols, and to trust initiatory paths. They work with the child within, resurrecting those delightful aspects of one's self. They may be used when one's thinking is stuck, going round and round in the same old circle, unable to break old mental patterns. They are good for relationships that have become based upon habit and need an injection of new vitality, and work well followed by herbs which will stimulate sexual enjoyment.

Venus
These herbs are highly recommended for those sullen and unhappy, particularly when those states of distress are caused by a lack of social grace. They will make us feel more attractive, and freer in giving a sense of joy. They are for persons desiring to be more outgoing and social. They give us a sense of self-comfort which leaves us more open (yet safely) to the vibrations of others.  Herbs of Venus are recommended more in healing for young people than for old, but are not recommended for anyone when the ailment is caused by love. In that case herbs of Jupiter are the best, for Venus will only increase the longing, whereas Jupiter will allow us to see other options.  These herbs have remedial associations with the blood, kidneys and urinary system, the tactile nerves, complexion, throat and skin. Many ailments of the reproductive system are connected with Venus. These herbs work to refine our sensory perception and aesthetics. They often have with them energy which increases our ability to attract those we desire. They are best used in this manner to attract imagery such as sought by artists, musicians, and others involved in the creative arts. They affect our sense of taste and value judgment of beauty. They also increase psychic perception, opening our awareness to many other senses. They have been used successfully for those who work on the astral planes.

I HAVE STUDIED ASTROLOGY FOR MANY MANY YEARS.  I FEEL THE GOOD OR  BAD OF ASTROLOGY IS BASED ON HOW A PERSON PRACTICING,  INTERPRETS IT.  HITLER USED MANY ASTROLOGERS TO ADVISE HIM ON THE TIMINGS OF HIS OFFENSIVES DURING THE WAR.  MANY PEOPLE MISUSE ASTROLOGY IN DIAGNOSING ILLNESS OR DEATH.  I FIND ASTROLOGY TO BE PURELY FOR THE SAKE OF  SPIRITUAL AND INTELLECTUAL GAINS OF MYSELF AS WELL AS OTHERS.
