See Sweeney family story. Mary Sweeney, Thomas' daughter, christened in Sydney about 1833 had married John Wright Murray in 1849. Thomas had met Bridget Coleman and on Sunday, February 18th, 1833, they were married at St.Mary's Cathedral. As a convict, he should have received official permission so that the ceremony was allowed to take place with `promised retribution'. Permission was granted on Wednesday 6th March 1833 for Thomas Sweeney (Isabella 3) aged 30, Life sentence to marry Bridget Coleman, priest Rev. J. McEncroe. | ||||||
