Do's
Tell your jokes casually.
While using cards for notes, always number them.
Don'ts
Don't start your speech with a joke unless you feel confident that it will work.
Don't tail off at the end of the speech; finish properly.
Don't start your speech before everyone is ready.
Don't offend anyone.
Body language
Stand with your weight on both feet so that you feel balanced.
If you have notes, hold them in front of you at about waist level with one hand. With your free hand lightly grasp the note holding wrist. If you have a lecturn rest your hands on either side of it.
Never hold your hands behind your back nor put them in your pockets.
Otherwise just stand with your left hand lightly holding your right wrist in front of you.
