This Indenture made this Eighteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven Hundred & Eighty Six Between John Bradshaw & Hannah his wife of Goochland County both of the one part & Archer payne of the sd. County of the other part Witnefseth that the sd. Bradshaw & Wife for the consideration of Seventy four pounds ten shillings in hand paid the Rect. whereof they do hereby acknowledge have bargained & sold unto the sd. Payne a certain tract of Land lying on the waters of Beaverdam in the County aforsd. being part of the tract whereon the sd. Bradshaw & Wife now dwell Containing forty nine acres of bounded as follows beginning at three Sweet Gums in the flat Lands of the Eastern fork of the sd. Creek & at Thos. Underwoods Corner thence on his lines N29°E 30 poles to a corner thence N35°E 8 poles to a Corner thence N62°E 20 poles to a white Oak & Dog Wood. thence N81°E 13 poles to two red Oaks.  Thence N50°E 22 poles to a pin on a hill thence new lines N29°W 24 poles Crofsing the Eastern branch of Beaverdam to a Corner Maple on John Bradshaw, thence N41°W 9 poles to a Corner Hickory.  thence S89°W 80 poles to a Corner Sweet Gum thence S62°W 32 poles to a corner popular on middle Creek thence down the sd. Creek 82 poles as it meanders to a Corner sweet Gum on Archer Paynes Land on west side of the Creek.  thence S84°E 59 poles to the beginning.  To have & to hold the sd. Land & appurtinances to the sd. Payne to the only proper use of the sd. Payne his heirs afsigns forever & the sd. Bradshaw & Wife for them of their heirs the sd. Land & appurtenances against them & their heirs to the sd. Payne his heirs & afsigns will warrant forever defend by these presents  In Testimony whereof the sd. Bradshaw & Wife have hereunto set their hands & affixed their Seals the day & year above written
