this weekend i received a last minute email from andreas that he would be free this weekend and if i wanted to i could go visit him in boscobel, wisconsin. i thought a little about going and nearly convinced myself not to go but then i said screw it and left at 7pm. i made very good time and arrived at andreas' brother's party just outside boscobel at a quarter past 10. as i walked in he was playing with his band 'black is the colour (of my true loves hair)', a familar traditional song from our london days. after the song we caught up a little. the last time i had seen my london flatmate was when i left london heathrow in late may so it was good to see him once more. hanging out again felt like old times which was pretty cool. ah yes, as i said before, i tip my cup to old friends.
the place to be
word has it that the place to be is in janesville, wi next weekend. anne rasmussen will be hosting a party of extrodinary magnitude. sadly i will not be able to attend because i will be working :(. this just in, working sucks (however the money thing is pretty good).
weekend sport
arsenal triumps over chelsea 2-1 while the 2-4-3 everton toffees continue to struggle in a draw with southampton. man u also won this weekend putting them in second place behind arsenal but just ahead of chelsea in the premiership.
the minnesota vikings continue to run away in the nfc cental with a victory over the denver broncos (28-20) in week 7. the vikings are one of the two teams left in the nfl that have yet to be defeated (the other being the kansas city chiefs). this only means one thing, we rock.

who knows what this weekend will bring. hopefully an adventure. here's to being spontanious. i am skeptical but nonetheless i tip my cup to old friends. godspede us all.

on friday morning i couldn't sleep but i laid in bed, or rather on the floor of my bedroom because i haven't been sleeping in my bed for about a month now... anyway, i was laying there at six in the morning trying to sleep but i couldn't. so as i laid there i thought to myself, "lets see, i'm laying on my stomach facing left with my right arm and leg out at an angle and and my left arm bent up and my left leg bent down... this is exactly how you see corpse outlines in the movies. i am a model corpse... much like a model employee... i am leading the way for a better tomorrow for corpses everywhere! just think, this could lead to better embolming, caskets, funneral services, and hursts and maybe even unions... ah yes, corpses everywhere will finally get... hey wait, am i still awake? damn it..."

well lets see, in the past two weeks i've made it to 11 out of 21 classes. yeah, thats terrible. i don't know whats wrong with me. of course there were some factors such as getting a cold and getting a flat tire (or some of you might say 'tyre') but that doesn't excuse missing half my classes in a two week period does it? oh well. i think i'm going to drop one of my classes (geomorphology) as a result. i think i'll be better off that way. i might be wrong.
i'm due for a haircut
as i was walking into work yesterday one of my fellow team leads asked me, "what is up with your hair?" after joking around with her for a little bit i said, "what's up with your hair?" and a girl standing a couple of feet away jumped in and said, "i don't think you should ever ask a girl whats up with there hair." but... i was... just... kidding around... damn it people.
anyway, i don't have a new hair do or anything, i just stop putting gel in it and haven't gotten it cut since mid july. i guess i wanted to see if not putting gel in my hair would really improve the overall health of it, but seeing how a receding hair line runs in my family (usually from the front of the head to the back of the head... ha ha...) and it usually starts in the person's early to mid twenties (see: brothers; chieu, minh) the health of my hair becomes less and less important with each passing year. anyways, i don't care anymore, who or what have i got to look decent for?

i, like many of you, have caught a cold. as could be expected from such a virus it sucks. i believe that drinking a lot of orange juice and sleeping a lot helps so i've been doing both. here is a log...

if its broke i can't fix it
the problem today with all the high technology placed in things we use everyday is it becauses harder and harder for the average consumer to fix damages that may occur to these products. for example my external hard drive (which was basically my whole computer) and my record player. i'm ruined without them. so long music and games, you will be missed.

damn you busy mom
on tuesday i had about an hour and fourty five minutes to waste between classes so i went to the computer lab and started checking out people's webpages. on anna marquardt's page i found some comment by 'busy mom' and with me having nothing better to do i checked out her webpage where she had a link to some game called 'rsvp' (linked under her sept 29th entry), anyway i started playing it and completely lost track of time. the next thing i knew i was half an hour late for my class (geomorphology: a fun time for all... z z z z). now i don't usually mind missing class but we were going on some field trip thingy that i had already paid for. some how this reminds me of how steve pease and i missed the 'rock n' roll' tour in london. anyway, i blame busy mom for making me play the game and missing my class and anna because right now she is probably thinking in her head "sucka!"
an odd feeling
i've been having some strange dreams lately including getting a speeding ticket, backing out of a trip to las vegas with my parents at the airport, and other things i can't remember right now. i'm pretty sure these dreams are a result to, well i suppose, how lonely i've been lately. which makes me think, when people talk to me do they like me or do they pity me. i would hope its the first one because that is just simply more ideal in my case but i wouldn't rule out the second one. in either case it seems fairly insignificant seeing how the length of time i speak monday through friday is about a total of five minutes each day. thank god for books, videogames, movies, and the weekends.
a reminder
i put on my coat today (the first time in a long while) and in the pockets i found my scarf, gloves, to bus recipts for the 285, a tube map, a lighter from bangor, northern ireland, a bunch of wrappers from eating polos, the key to my bike lock, a phone card, and half a packet of 'airwaves'. i spoke with andreas this week and he said he went through the same thing when he put on his jacket. ah yes, how the memories all came flooding back as they do when i look at pictures of when i was there. it was a great time but its sad to think that if and when i go back it will never be the same. but that time is over and a new one has begun. (for some reason i feel like i should yell out 'mortal kombat!!!!' and then techno music will follow... funny, but strange)
