Slayers Reviews
(by the Slayers)
The following are reviews of the Slayers anime in general by none other than the Slayers themselves!
Lina: Slayers is an ultra-exciting fantasy action/adventure/humor anime starring me, Lina Inverse! This anime is truly a great one, since I was able to defeat all those mozaku. It's very familiar, in fact. It's almost as if that stuff really happened to me. But, when I saw myself kissing Gourry at the end of Slayers Next (ugh), I knew that this series was simply a really REALLY big coincidence, and that it's purely fictional. My  favorite character was me, and my least favorite character was Xellos! He was always hiding information from us, disappearing, and even betraying us! He tried to trade my life for Valgaav's joining the monster race! And he was going to steal the Final Weapon! He even hit me in the back of the head to steal the Final Weapon back! And, I also hate those "girls" in the Kingdom of Femille who called me a guy! Me, a guy? *growl* Finally, I also hate Software Sculptors for describing me as "flat-chested" and a "teenage tomboy"! *sigh* The storyline was good, though, and some parts were exciting, and some parts were funny. So, I still thought Slayers was a really cool anime. Go watch it, and see me blow up bandits!

Gourry: Well, I think Slayers is a good anime, but I didn't really understand it. Like, I was confused about the first Slayers season. And, I was also confused by the second season, and I was also confused by the third season. I didn't get what that Rizzo guy was trying to do, and I don't remember that me and Lina were fighting Shabradingo at all...  Then, in the second series, I didn't get what the "Claire Bible" thing was. I tried to get Lina to explain it to me, but she just did one of her deep sighs, and told me to forget it. Then, later, when I asked her again, she yelled at me, and hit me over the head. Slayers Why was the most confusing series of all. I had no idea what was going on. Valgave, or Balgave, was this Old Dragon, and I think he was the Supreme Elder's brother, because they're both old, even though Valgame didn't look all that old. Then, Balgave grew these wings; I guess he became an angel, because he was so old. And he attacked Alface, and knocked Xellos aside! Then he started getting these weird bumps all over him; I guess he's allergic to being an angel. Then, Blackstar was summoned by the seven Weapons of Something, and he ate the Old Dragon, and Valshave was smiling for some reason. After that, I had no idea what was going on. Oh, and in Slayers Nexus, or whatever it was called, Gabe or Gave or something had this red hair, and he wanted the Claire Bible. At least, I think he did. And Zibraizo was a Dark Lord that betrayed the dragon race, and had these weird yellow marbles that helped people. No, wait. I don't remember. And in the first Slayers series, Reeses was trying to take over the world so he could hear it, because he was deaf, or maybe mute. And then Copy Raiza came back with new servants, and he tried to take the original Rizzzzzo's legacy and revive Blackstar, or was that in Slayers Why? I don't remember. But anyways, I think Slayers is a good anime.

Amelia- Slayers was a very interesting anime. I can't believe how much I changed from the first series. I kept on falling down and stuff before, and I was a total klutz. Also, Mr. Zelgadis and I seemed to hate each other at first. I was chanting justice speeches every chance I got! Then, as the second and third series passed, I was a lot more reserved, and only ranted about justice occassionally. I mean, I still believe in it, but I changed a lot. I guess it's just "character development". Some of the episodes were really funny! Every time Gourry dressed up as a girl, he always threw such a fit! Dressing up Mr. Zelgadis was probably one of the funniest things that I've ever seen happen. ^_^ It's kinda nice just to sit back and watch all that we accomplished, and how weird some of the stuff would've been seen by outsiders, instead of having to live it. They skipped a lot of stuff we did between Slayers and Slayers Next, and between Slayers Next and Slayers Try, though. I guess they only decided to show the times when we were together. Gee, after Slayers Try it was really sad. That was like the only time they showed us individually. Miss Filia had her own shop, I was attending to royal duties, Mr. Xellos was telling his master something, and Miss Lina and Mr. Gourry were still together (I guess that's not so surprising ^_^). I was really surprised to see that Mr. Zelgadis was still hanging on to the bracelet that I gave him. It made me feel like I really accomplished something for him. Besides, I don't think that we're going to be seperated for too long. Even if they don't film what we do next, the Slayers are still going to live on! In other words, it was a cool anime. ^_^

Zelgadis- Slayers was a so-so anime. It wasn't all that encouraging to watch me repeatedly look for my cure and fail. *sigh* I can't believe how many times they showed Amelia and I together! It's like they intended us to be a couple! Not that I'm... suggesting anything... Some of the parts were exciting, some of the parts were comical (the part when I was used as an anchor was NOT comical!!!), and some of the parts were moving. I really did worry about Lina at the end of Slayers Next. Those people that say Slayers is all about humor are wrong; I saw a lot of sorrow in it as well (take a look at Slayers Try). In any case, I'm continuing to search for my cure. There's still more of the New World to explore, I believe. I'll keep wandering, but my heart tells me that I'll meet up with Lina, Gourry, and Amelia again eventually. Filia might come in with a new prophecy, or she'll feel that she knows us enough to travel with us again. And, Xellos will pop in whether I like it or not (not). So, go see Slayers if you want something to do.

Filia- Wow, I had no idea that Miss Lina and the rest of the "Slayers" group had that many adventures. No wonder they were able to overcome the prophecy! In any case, obviously Slayers Try was my favorite series (it's the only one I'm in ^^'). I think the journey of our achieving the prophecy was very well captured. And, they did a brilliant job of portraying how angry I felt at certain times. ^_^ I also thought the end of Slayers Next was very sweet, when Lina and Gourry found each other again. In the first series, the stories of both Rezos were sad and involving. It's a great anime; go see it! I've got to go tend to Val (the end of Slayers Try shows that I'm definitely not letting him out of my sight!). ^_^

Xellos- Well, my complete and honest opinion of Slayers is a secret, of course. After seeing that she was shown a few times in the opening and closing songs of Slayers Next and Try, Lord Beastmaster decided that too much was being given away about her, the result being the refusal of me telling any more. My only question is, did they HAVE to capture Gaav hitting me so brutally? And, the part when everyone else is using optimism to defeat me in the temple of the Ancient Dragons was VERY degrading (I had to hear it a second time, too). But, the scene where I stabbed Valgaav with my staff was VERY satisfying. *evil grin* Well, that's all I have to say. 'Til next time!
