Video Game Information |
Slayers for Super Nintendo/Super Famicom, with the Super Nintendo version pictured at left. This is the first of the Slayers video games, and, like all the others, is an RPG. This game really has nothing to do with the anime series itself; it merely uses the characters and magic system to create a reasonably good game. The storyline, as far as I know, consists of Lina waking up in a small village, and not remembering anything (like how she got there, how to cast powerful spells, etc.). |
Slayers Royal for Playstation/Sega Saturn, with the Playstation version pictured at left. I currently have no information on the storyline, but this is a very good game, from what I've heard, contrary to prediction that the game would be a "total flop" compared to the anime. This game actually has several fully-animated "movie sequences", as well as a turn-based battle system, similar to the Final Fantasy game. |
Slayers Royal 2 for Playstation. The sequal to Slayers Royal, obviously. This is a great improvement on the original game. There are better-animated movie sequences, the overall look of the game (characters, magic spells) is clearer, and the magic looks cooler. Additionally, during important parts of the game, there ARE actual integrated voices for the characters, which is pretty neat. |
Slayers Wonderful for Playstation. This is the best-animated game of them all, and almost everyone's favorite. Even better 3D battles, complete with "limit break" attacks sort of like Final Fantasy, once again. This game also includes actual voice dialogue, like Royal 2, better movie sequences, and a great storyline. The story goes that while Lina Inverse is asleep, resting in an inn, energy rises from her body and exists out through the window. Outside, energy exits out of all the other windows, all of them mysteriously gathering into a dark evil-looking cloud. Later, when Lina and Gourry are up and about, they battle a group of bandits. When the bandits realize who they're dealing with, they cower with fear, but Lina's magic doesn't work, and Gourry's Sword of Light didn't activate! What happened? That's what this game is all about! |
