Pop Cola is poised to fire head coach Derek Pumaren.

Sources said last night the RFM management, headed by president Joey Concepcion, held a meeting with the team in which Pumaren was not invited.

Apparently, the meeting was intended to announce the decision to fire Pumaren who had a much-publicized rift with captain Vergel Meneses late in the 1995 season when the team fell short of a grand slam.

Meneses and Renato Agustin led the players in the two-hour emotional meeting, sources revealed.
