Click on your state below to go directly to your federal congressman's website where you can send him an e-mail urging him to take the initiative to reform the Electoral College or actively support such efforts. Just cut and paste the following sample e-mail into your congressman's e-mail form and send it off for action. Or, compose one yourself.

"Dear Senator, I have reviewed the Constitution and the laws that govern the way we elect our presidents in the United States and I am shocked. Not only do I not vote directly for the presidential candidate of my choice, but my vote in presidential elections do not carry the same weight as voters in other states. A voter in Wyoming has a vote that counts four times as much as a vote in Florida. This violates my sense of fair play and equal opportunity for all citizens regardless of the state in which they live. I believe in the principle of "one person, one vote". If all people are not equal at the ballot box, then there is no equality in America when it comes to electing the president.
I urge you to Electoral College reform in a way that lives up to the founding fathers' principle that "All men are created equal". I urge you to adopt direct election of the president by the people through the congressional districts, with instant runoff voting and without electors for state senators.
Sincerely yours,"
