Meanwhile, President Connery's attempts at ridding the national capital of the rebel threats, and cut off from his nuclear capabilities, decided to surrender to Indigo Retina. He made the surrender in a televised address from a Denny's in Philadelphia, which had doubled as his headquarters over the duration of his retreat from Washington. At the end of his speech, President Connery called for a second election, devoid of the electoral college, where the popular vote would win. In response to the latest information, several million Americans let out a sigh of relief. President-elect Indigo Retina will make his Cabinet appointments within the week. The Inauguaration ceremony has not been postponed. It is still scheduled for January 20, 2020.
