GUN CONTROL:
The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her panty hose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound.

FIREARMS QUICK FACTS
By Garry Breitkreuz, MP – Updated April 23rd, 2003

Afraid To Be Involved?
Unfortunately for our sport, there are still some that don't want to become 'politically involved'.  Also unfortunately,  our sport is the 'only' sport in Canada that is COMPLETELY controlled by politics.  Shooters, clubs, and other firearms related organizations and businesses that are afraid of political involvement are only giving the Coalition for Gun Control the smug satisfaction of victory, and the ability to continue the 'political' lobbying that will eventually take your firearms away completely.  The U.K. has already arrived at this point, Australia is 80% complete, and we are next. If you are NOT part of the solution, then you ARE  part of the problem.
The Canadian Police Association only 'SAYS' it Represents Police Officers on the street.
Here's what THOSE  Officers say about this Gun Registry Farce

The Horror of an Anthrax Attack
Although this scenario is a fictional one, it is based in large part on real events, emergency plans, and interviews with politicians, law-enforcement and terrorism experts.

Texans disagree on the effects of conceal/carry
The Texas Department of Public Safety doesn't monitor gun crime, so it's tough to tell statistically how the concealed gun law has fared there. But there’s no shortage of opinion on the issue.  Texas state representative Suzanna Hupp has long been a fervent supporter of her state’s conceal/carry law.  She said, "It saves lives, that's it in a nut shell, it saves lives." In the 7 years since then Governor George W. Bush made it legal for people to carry concealed handguns, she says gun violence has gone down. She said, "We heard that there would be blood in the streets and that it would be Dodge City all over again, that simply hasn't occurred." Hupp has very personal reasons for backing conceal/carry.  She was eating lunch with her parents at Luby's Cafeteria in Killeen, when a man drove through the door and started shooting. That was before the law.  She said, "At the time in the state of Texas we didn't have the ability to be able to protect ourselves from nuts like that." People were killed, including Hupp's parents.  Her handgun, that she argues could've saved their lives, was in its only legal place at the time...her pickup truck.(Most Canadians don't even have 'that' option, unless their on the way to the range. Even then, they have to unlock the trunk of their car, unlock the box containing the handgun, unlock the handgun, unlock the box containing the ammunition and load the gun, all the time hoping beyond hope that the criminal will wait, and not shoot them. Canada's gun laws, and the "Culture of defencelessness": effecting ONLY  the law abiding from coast to coast. Thanks to the Liberals, 'our' criminals are protected by law, and YOU are the endangered species )
Errant gun dealer, wary agents paved way for Beltway sniper tragedy
Gun dealer Brian Borgelt says he doesn't know how his store ended up arming the Beltway sniper suspects with a deadly accurate $1,600 military-style carbine. But law-enforcement sources, for the first time, explain what happened: Not only did sniper suspect John Muhammad hone his marksmanship at Bull's Eye's firing range, but alleged accomplice Lee Boyd Malvo has told investigators he shoplifted the 35-inch-long carbine from the supposedly secure store. An analysis of records obtained by The Seattle Times through a freedom-of-information lawsuit against the ATF shows that between 1997 and 2001, guns sold by Bull's Eye were involved in 52 crimes, including homicides, kidnappings and assaults — a rate the ATF considers alarming. "What you have in front of you is a case study in what is wrong with this system," said Jerry Nunziato, a former director of the ATF's National Tracing Center who reviewed Bull's Eye's 283-page file. "This shop has all of the obvious indicators that something's wrong. When the bureau looked at it and found the problems were true, nothing was done." (Whats alarming, is the ATF had seen all these red flags for years, and did nothing, and continue to do nothing.)
IMPACT ALERT AS X-RAY SATELLITE PLUMMETS TO EARTH
The 1400-kilogram BeppoSAX satellite is expected to break up as it enters the Earth's atmosphere on Tuesday evening, showering the area below its flight path with chunks of metal. Its equatorial orbit has been decaying since the satellite was switched off in April 2002. A report from the Italian Space Agency (ASI), issued at 1105 GMT on Tuesday, estimates that the debris will hit the surface between 2035 this evening and 0517 on Wednesday morning. But they do not know yet where it will land. After the satellite was switched off it became impossible to communicate with the spacecraft. Its location is being tracked with help from NASA, but it cannot be steered. (Heads up folks, it too far south for us. But, with any luck at all it will hit the 'Australian' gun registry)
Crime and Consequence
Campbell was tied up at gunpoint in the 1997 holdup of a west side Vancouver ski shop. He had dreams about it -- that he struggled free while the robbers looted the store and was about to reach for a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun they had left on the floor. In real life, one of the masked bandits walked into the room before Campbell could make a move, and the moment passed. In his nightmare, Campbell grabbed the shotgun. Then the thieves came back. "In the dream," Campbell told The Vancouver Sun, "I knew that if they came back while I had the 12-gauge and they didn't do what I said, they tried to take it away from me, then I had to kill them. "I was a coroner trying to prevent death, advocating a change in how we deal with people who are addicted, and finding myself in the position where I had to kill one."(Had he actually grabbed the shotgun, he could have/would have prevented an awful lot of future robberies. Perhaps, because he 'had' been a cop, he would not have been less likely to go to prison for defending himself,  after all, the shotgun 'may' not have been the only gun. The 'liberal' thinking? Well, no one got hurt because he complied! They don't stop to think that perhaps they might kill someone in the future. There is no shame in defending your life, after all, 'someone' has to take out the trash)
Heston Says Famous Line Final Time as NRA President
NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre then presented Heston with a Winchester 1866 "cowboy rifle" in honor of his service."Chuck this is a very valuable rifle," LaPierre said. "But I think it's about to become priceless because I know you have something to say to all of us."Despite being 78 years old and suffering the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, Heston raised the rifle above his head in a hallmark that has become as recognizable as the Academy Award winning actor's portrayal of Moses in "The Ten Commandments." Then he made the statement - for  the last time as NRA president - that rallied defenders of gun ownership for the length of his term:  "From my cold, dead hands."(This is a decent article compared to the incredibly Left wing 'Your just a bunch of ignorant rednecks' crap spewed forth by another Florida Liberal biased dork and his newspaper NRA bids a loving farewell to Heston)
Whats on the Agenda for California(We maybe next!)
Several Bills are up for consideration and vote in the California Legislature.  Key members of the legislature need to be contacted to ensure proper action is taken on these measures. HANDGUN TEST REPEAL, AB201 (Samuelian) would eliminate the requirement to take the handgun safety test for handgun purchasers every 5 years, will be heard in the Assembly Public Safety Committee On Tuesday, April 29. Please call Assembly members Bermudez and Longville and ask them to vote "YES" on AB 201.  TARGET RIFLE BAN, AB50 (Koretz) would ban the sale of all .50 caliber rifles, will be heard in the Assembly Public Safety Committee on Tuesday, April 29.  Please call Assembly members, Bermudez and Longville, and ask them to vote "NO" on AB 50. AMMO TAX, AB 992 (Riddley-Thomas), would impose a sales tax of ten cents per cartridge will be heard in the Assembly Health Committee On Tuesday, April 29. The tax on a brick of .22 caliber rounds would cost a law-abiding gun owner 50 dollars!  Please call the committee members and ask them to vote "NO" on AB 992. HANDGUN BAN, SB601 (Perata) has been introduced and will be heard in Senate Public Safety Committee on Tuesday May 6. This bill would Ban All 50 caliber handguns.  Please call the committee members and ask them to vote "NO" on SB 601. SEMI-AUTO HANDGUN RESTRICTION, SB190 (Scott) will be heard in Senate Public Safety on April 29. This bill would BAN all Semi-auto Handguns that do not have BOTH a magazine disconnect and a loaded chamber indicator. This requirement would ban the sale of almost all of the Semi-auto handguns currently legal for sale in California. Please call the committee members and ask them to vote "NO" on SB190.(The 'stark' difference between Americans, and us is that THEY get to vote on these little blocks of insanity, where we, on the other hand would simply be expected to comply to any, and all orders, by the Liberal Dictatorship. As Cauchon has said, "Canadians are compliant". Can you imagine what a 'gold mine' the California black market guns & ammo business will become? The gun and ammo dealers in Nevada also stand to make a fortune is this all this insanity goes through.. )
Firearms bill recoils on feds
Federal solicitor general Wayne Easter probably is finding he has fewer friends in the farm community than he once did, says an Alberta Canadian Alliance MP. On April 1, Easter took over responsibility for the Canadian firearms program. Kevin Sorenson said during a House of Commons debate that he understood farmer Easter, a Prince Edward Island Liberal, once opposed the gun registry before ascending to cabinet last autumn. "He was the president of the National Farmers Union," said the Crowfoot MP during debate on legislation to create a Canadian Firearms Centre to administer the gun licensing and registration programs. "I would like him to return to his farmer friends and tell them he is now the one in charge of the firearms registry. He will find out how loved he is in the agricultural sector because that is suicide." The government thought it had finished with the legislative issue in the Commons last autumn when it pushed through amendments to the criminal code affecting both cruelty-to-animals and the gun registry. Instead, the Senate took the almost unprecedented step of splitting the legislation in two and sending the gun provisions back to MPs. In the midst of a procedural argument, Nova Scotia Progressive Conservative MP Gerald Keddy said too much time should not be taken up debating procedure. "I think Parliament has missed the point entirely ...(which) is it's a poor piece of legislation," said the rural MP. "It is severely flawed." ("Flawed" is certainly a understatement! The Feds, again, think they have this program well in hand. People were complaining this billion dollars should have be spent on police: 'wave the magic wand' poof... the cops now have a new billion dollar program.. Farmers are complaining! Wave the wand again: Poof.. The man in charge is a farmer! Somehow, Chrétien thinks this makes everything ok!)
Gun registry unites Tory rivals
OTTAWA—Progressive Conservative leadership candidates yesterday differed on regional development grants, Air Canada and the Iraqi war — but were in solid agreement that the gun registry should be scrapped.(Ya great! But until they join with the Aliance, and quit flogging a dead horse by splitting the vote don't expect any changes soon!)
Every Iraqi has 2 or 3 guns
BAGHDAD - Gunshots heralded what the men in the New Baghdad market were selling yesterday, among the oranges and the eggs -- AK-47s, Beretta submachine-guns and Browning 9-mms, for as little as $15."Every Iraqi I'd estimate now has two or three guns. And we will use these guns against Britons and Americans, if they do not go out of Iraq," car mechanic Dhiab Hamad Khaleifa said yesterday. Nightly, Baghdad resounds with duets of AK-47s -- families letting off bursts of automatic weapons to let would-be robbers know they, too, are armed. Widows and elderly retirees privately admit to toting the weapons. With so many arms on the market, homeowners say they have no choice but to buy weapons.(It would seem that Every Iraqi 'needs' 2 or 3 guns. Because of the Black Market created by gun bans, the U.K. has almost reached that point too! Canada? Well, if the Liberals have their way, we'll have a much larger black market too. After all, a 'unregistered gun', is a 'unregistered gun' no matter where you bought it!)
AntiGun Logic?
But those letters were welcomed and pleasant. Others were neither. Some wondered if I would feel the same way if my life were threatened by a gun-wielding attacker. In fact, many seemed to take particular delight in this possibility. Others had my wife and children as the hypothetical victims. There's no good answer to that question. Would I like it if somebody with a gun threatened me or my family? Of course not, but my solution is to take away that person's gun, not give me one. That's the point. Fewer guns are better than more guns. The statement that taking guns away from law-abiding citizens means only criminals will have guns is a two-wrongs-make-a-right argument. Arming both groups is preferable to arming only the criminals, but arming neither is best. (Uh huh! Well, the bad guy is NEVER going to give up his gun, particularly when he knows 'you did'. Logic has never played a very important role when it comes to the anti-gun group. They want someone to wave a magic wand and turn the whole world into a flower sniffing, peace loving, touchyfeely, grouphug, kumbia singing, kind of  utopian neighbourhood. They have this fanciful carrot held way out on a stick in front of their noses, hoping beyond hope, that someday everyone will reach that impossible goal. In the meantime, try to be as defenceless as you possibly can, stick your head under your covers, and ignore the bogeyman in the closet. When in fact, the 'logical' thing to do, is buy a shotgun, wait for the bogeyman to stick his head out of the closet, and be troubled by him no more. But 'anti's' don't think this way. They prefer to remain self-righteous and rely on 911 to 'hopefully' send someone who's armed, to do their dirtywork 'by proxy' !)
Variety stores improve security?
Ghalib Chudhary was selling a bag of 2 per cent milk yesterday morning in a Scarborough Mac's store when he heard news that rattled his nerves. His supervisor called to inform the 39-year-old manager about Monday night's fatal shooting in a convenience store barely a five-minute drive away. For Chudhary, who has worked in the business since 1994, it was too close for comfort. "We are afraid about it because we think maybe the next time is ours," said Chudhary, who manages the Mac's on Alton Towers Circle. "But we cannot close the store," he said. Toronto's latest homicide reminded variety store employees about the dangers of their jobs and the importance of complying with a criminal's demands.("Slaying highlights danger of resisting"??? Maybe I'm just stupid, but I tend to look at this from a more logical side, a side that could eliminate, or reduce these robberies completely. The advice " about the dangers of their jobs and the importance of complying with a criminal's demands" is CRAP! The police keep saying "comply" and be safe, but their ARMED, and also not the one with a gun stuck in their face. If these 'punks' started seeing the business end of a short barrelled shotgun once in a while, they might not feel so safe when they plan to shoot the old guy in the convenience store for 50 bucks in drug money. The word for people that don't fight back when they have the opportunity, is 'VICTIM'.  I'll bet the ex Korean military officer (Mr Lee) that beat the crap out of the guy that tried to rob him last month, is not going to be robbed again anytime soon! Want to REALLY Improve Security? Buy a gun, Load it, and stick it under the counter, use it when you have too. Yes It's Legal because a gun does NOT have to be in storage 24 hrs. a day (R v. Bowskill ) "Police said cabbie Mohamad Nakib Arbaji was gunned down in the Daisy Mart at Morningside and Sheppard Aves. at 10:30 p.m. Monday after he tried to appease a robber."  (See: Cabbie's vest didn't save him Good Samaritan killed despite bulletproof garb. Friends recall a hard-working, kind family man) If your faced  with a punk and a gun, you may end up dead anyway, and I would much rather die fighting than cowering behind a counter.)
The Sliming of America
Most ordinary hard-working Americans will never pay to see Michael Moore’s Oscar-nominated Bowling for Columbine. For those of us who have, the anger at the deceit in the portrayal of virtually every facet of the film is palpable. Even the title harbors a lie. According to Dan Lyons of Forbes magazine, police later said the murderers, who took the lives of 12 students and a teacher at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo., on April 20, 1999, didn’t attend their bowling class that awful day, as Moore suggests. The entire “gun violence” theme of Moore’s film is built around Columbine and Flint—events which Moore colors and shades with dishonesty and guile by using innuendo, ignoring critically important facts, changing the timeline to create a false chronology and then salting it all down with outright lies.  (The really sad thing is that 'genuine' documentary films were passed over, and their excellence ignored by the academy and their relentless pursuit of a political statement. The awarding of this 'prize' to Michael Moore for this fictional travesty, makes one wonder why many Americans would bother to participate in future awards, that now seem to be akin to a 'cracker jack prize'. A Prize based only on political thinking, and not documentary excellence. The other film makers Moore tricked into joining him on stage must truly feel used and cheated, and will continue to feel that way about the Academy until Moore's Oscar is returned and re-awarded to someone that actually earned it!)
Gun control laws in America
Besides being a long-standing and essential right protected explicitly by the Constitution, the freedom to keep and use a firearm has proven invaluable in self-defense. According to Criminologist Gary Kleck, firearms are used defensively 2.5 million times every year, almost half of the time by women and usually without a shot being fired. Another study by John Lott of the University of Chicago found that, among other things, 1,600 murders and 4,800 rapes would have been prevented if all states not already doing so would have instituted concealed carry laws, similar to those in Texas.(Unfortunately in Canada, your life is not as important as Liberal votes. Any time I'm in a position where my life might be in danger, during a bank machine transaction for example, I should be allowed to carry. Unless the police are willing to show up, and stand beside the machine while I do my transactions they are incapable of providing the protection required to make it unnecessary for me to be armed.  Canada is NOT the Canada it was 30 years ago, the death toll proves it. For example: Star story April 22/03:An innocent bystander was shot to death in a robbery at a Scarborough convenience store last night. As long as drug addicted punks are running around willing to kill you for virtually nothing, Licensed, trained citizens 'should' be allowed to carry. After all, ANY avid IPSC shooter has far more range time, firearms training, and gun handling ability than the vast majority of  Canadian police officers.)
Men arrested after making video of Ambassador Bridge
DETROIT -- Two men were arrested April 20 after police spotted them videotaping the Ambassador Bridge spanning the U.S. and Canada, and found small sticks of dynamite and shot gun shells in their possession. They also were carrying a tape recorder and photocopies of immigration papers, officials said.(What do you bet that these guys 'originated' on the Canadian side. Probably linked to one of the 36,000 deportation orders the government can't seem to execute)
Lobbyist predicts end to Canadian gun registry
Canada's gun registry will soon be history because of Liberal MPs' growing opposition to its skyrocketing costs, says a lobbyist for firearms owners. "I think I can safely say that, within a year or two, the system will be gone," Tony Bernardo, the executive director of the Canadian Institute for Legislative Action (CILA), predicted last week at a pro-gun rally held at Campbellford District High School. But we need your help to make it happen, he admitted. Bernardo told the gathering of about 350 people that "there's been a whole change of attitude in the deepest levels of the Liberal Party of Canada" since the Auditor General revealed last December that the gun registry is likely to cost more than $1 billion by 2005. Members of the Liberals' rural caucus have had a bellyful of C-68, which has turned out to be an absolute catastrophe, said Bernardo. "They just want the whole thing to go away...That's why it's critical now that you get to your MP and tell him how you feel... If we back off the pressure, (the Liberals) will figure they have won and not change anything." However, he said he would like to see the Ernie Eves government win a majority because the Tories in Ontario have been "good to firearms owners." The province has chosen not to enforce gun registration and it has set up the Ontario Firearms Users Group as an advisory body that allows gun owners to present their views "directly into the highest levels of the Ontario Legislature."(Ontario Gun Owners have to decide between their freedom to hunt and keep their firearms, or another socialistic Liberal government that will push Ontario back into the debt they were in during the 'last' Liberal reign! REMEMBER! The Liberals were so bad, so arrogant, so fiscally irresponsible (sound familiar?) we actually replaced them with the NDP.. Think About it!)
Boycott the registry
The Ontario government should send a message that the gun registry is not welcome
The province of Ontario has an opportunity to boycott part of the federal government’s ridiculous and unbearably costly plan to register firearms in Canada. Ontario Attorney General Norm Sterling should take this opportunity to send the federal government a message that the registry is not welcome in Ontario. three out of Canada’s 10 provinces have refused to co-operate with the prosecution of the registry is another blow to the federal plan. If Ontario, Canada’s largest province, follows the lead of the Prairie provinces and refuses to help the federal government prosecute registry-related offences, it will be a further blow to the bloated federal plan. The provinces are in a position to do what Liberal backbenchers cannot. Ontario can send a message that the gun registry is an unwieldy and unwelcome intrusion on the lives of otherwise law-abiding hunters and farmers in this province.(The Ontario Solicitor General has told the feds the registry is a HUGE waste of money, it now time for him to take the next step, and tell the fed to piss off as far as prosecuting hunters and farmers are concerned)
Thames Valley trial for police stun gun
Police are to start trialling a revolutionary and controversial type of stun gun across the Thames Valley and Buckinghamshire this week. Thames Valley Police is to pilot the new Taser gun at the same time as the Metropolitan Police and three other forces across the UK. The weapon will be used by Thames Valley's three armed response units alongside traditional firearms.(Pardon me? "Traditional Firearms"? Before the Big U.K. Gun Ban that pretty well insured guns would be a very lucrative product for the underworld black market, the police did not require firearms to keep the peace in the U.K. So, infact there ARE no Traditional firearms for the U.K. Cops. Only the ones that are now required because of Gun Bans for the law abiding)
Death threat leads to takedown, lockdown
OTTAWA  - A death threat from one City of Ottawa employee to another lead to the lockdown of a school and the raid of a home in Westboro Wednesday. On Wednesday, the employee who was threatened by McQuade reported the incident to his supervisor, and police were called in. The police tactical unit assembled near a home on Churchill Avenue after they received word that the man who lives there owned guns. Churchill Alternative Public School and its day care, right across the street, were locked down while the team moved in on the house. Municipal councillors say it's an example of how the city's zero-tolerance policy on violence is working. Under the policy, McQuade was immediately suspended. "I think in this case it did work well," said councilor Alex Cullen. "Not only was he pulled out of the work environment, but the police were called in—showing the effectiveness of the gun registry."(Oh really? If his guns were among the minority of firearms that 'are' in the registry, that MUST mean he has a firearms licence, which also means there is a pretty good chance he owns a gun, which also means a registry is pretty well useless, because the cops don't care 'what kind of gun' he has, only that he has one, and has made a death threat. There are far more guns that are NOT in this useless registry, than guns that are, and that will ALWAYS be the case.)
While Jean Chretien golfs
Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien is vacationing in the Dominican Republic this weekend, where he will tee off with former U.S. President Bill Clinton for the newly inaugurated Soft-on-Terror Masters Tournament. While Chretien golfs, his fellow countryman and favorite accused terrorist Ahmad Said Khadr is still on the loose. Khadr, an Egyptian-born Canadian citizen, is considered by intelligence officials to be the highest-ranking Canadian within Osama bin Laden's inner circle. He studied computer science at the University of Ottawa and worked for an Ottawa-based Islamic charity, Human Concern International, which was generously subsidized by Chretien's government. (The only people Chrétien thinks of as  'terrorists' is anyone who would call him a "deceitful, back stabbing, lying, underhanded, arrogant, doddling old fart of a dictator".. Hmmm I guess I'm on the list!)
And DON'T Forget to Register Your 'ROPE'!
In the last ten years, there has been a continuous and consistent decline in the number of firearms deaths. Suicides with firearms have also seen a continuous decrease after spending much of the last 20 years over the 1,000 per 100,000 mark.  While the number of firearm suicides decreased, there has been an increase in the number of suicides by hanging.  Almost half that increase took place in 1999 (see Table 1 and Chart 1).  Suicides involving other methods have remained relatively stable. Between 1991 and 1999, the number of people shooting themselves decreased by 303 while the number of people hanging themselves increased by 721.  On the surface, there seems to be a substitution effect from firearms related suicide to hanging.  However, there is insufficient information to draw this conclusion.  We cannot clearly state that there is a substitution effect between the two, because the causes of suicide find roots in changing and complex social, economic and personal situations which may or may not effect the method of suicide. (Firearm suicides are down! Now, seeing that suicide by 'rope' now exceeds suicide by firearms there must be a 'great' feeling of relief among the Coalition for Gun Control paranoids! I can hear it now: Well, as long as their not 'shooting' themselves, C-68 is a great benefit to society.. Hey! the registration sticker just fell off my rope! RUN before it goes berserk in the streets, and hangs somebody. )
Guns and Dope in Canada? Only in Trailer Parks?
Besides Canada, The Trailer Park Boys is shown in Australia and Clattenburg is confident of a deal soon in the United States, where the show already has an underground following built through tapes downloaded from the Internet. MTV, the American music video giant, showed interest in The Trailer Park Boys early on and even talked of running it back-to-back with the hugely popular Jackass. But the network ultimately balked at the show's overt drug use and frequent gunplay. Wells says they're not about to tone down the show's content, which includes some of the foulest language this side of The Osbournes, to appeal to a wider audience. "If we got rid of the guns and the dope, I'm sure it would be much easier to sell," he admits. "But this is our show. This is what we wanted to make from the beginning."(I Have never watched 'Trailer Park Boys'! Perhaps I have never been 'that' bored? But it does bring something else to mind: Maybe Americans don't know that the government has made owning guns a 'criminal offence' in Canada? That is of course, unless you have a 'licence' to commit a criminal offence, issued by the government. A firearms licence is a licence to commit what would otherwise be a 'criminal offence'.  Apparently, the Canadian government 'Can' issue a real '00' licence to kill,  rape, or rob. The precedence has been set! At least until the governments ability to issue a licence to commit what would otherwise be a criminal offence has been discarded by a Supreme Court challenge. After all, if it can issue a licence for one particular criminal offence, it has theoretically 'nothing' standing in it's way to issue a licence for the commission of 'any' action that would otherwise be a criminal offence.. This also steps on the toes of another decision made by the Supreme Court in the past. Basically 'cut and dried' convictions are not constitutional.
{I.E. Does the accused have a gun: YES, Does the Accused have a licence for that gun: NO The accused is automatically guilty of a criminal offence and goes to prison for 5 years}, no defence is possible. Apparently, this is possible in 'regulatory law', i.e. traffic court. {Was the Accused driving a car: YES Does the Accused have a Licence: NO = Guilty pay $1000.00}.. but NOT criminal law. THIS is one of the reasons you are not seeing the people who WANT to get arrested and charged under c-68, actually get arrested and charged. The government KNOWS it will never pass a constitutional challenge, but continues to deny you your rights by threats and intimidation. Vote Liberal: Government by Threats and Intimidation! When nothing else works!)
"HappyEaster"?Probablynot!"
Gun Control Program Transferred To Solicitor General Canada
The Honourable Martin Cauchon, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, in conjunction with the Honourable Wayne Easter, Solicitor General of Canada, today announced the gun control program has now been formally transferred from the Department of Justice Canada to the Solicitor General of Canada Portfolio. The Government of Canada is currently implementing a series of changes for an improved, more cost effective gun control program. Plans to transfer the program were first announced in the action plan, after a comprehensive, independent review of the gun control program. The Department of Justice and Solicitor General Canada have worked in close collaboration during recent weeks to ensure an orderly transition of the program. (It's obvious now, that "Honourable" is just a government title, and has very little to do with the actual people involved. Once again the Liberals show their disdain for parliament, by bypassing parliament completely 'yet again', and making this controversial transfer at the very start of a parliamentary recess. Once again Parliament is not needed by the Liberal dictatorship.  They simply used the now familiar dictatorial process, called "Orders in Council" Your task for the day? Try explaining "Orders in Council" to someone from a country that takes great pride in their constitutional freedom! Try and explain "Orders in Council" to an American!)
'BANG' Your Frogged
FORT WORTH - A Denton teen-ager was blinded this weekend and faces reconstructive surgery because a toy gun he was playing with shot a frog into his face. Daniel Berry, 17, was looking down the barrel of a "potato gun" when it went off, his parents, Lisa and Clifford Berry, said at an afternoon news conference at John Peter Smith Hospital. Berry is in serious condition at the hospital, and doctors have talked to the teen's parents about fitting him with prosthetic eyes, the Berrys said. "The frog hit him with a force more than a gun," Lisa Berry, 41, said. "If it had been a potato or a rock, it would have killed him. It would have blown the top of his head off."(Even though a early CFC safety book told you to load your gun, 'then' check the barrel for obstructions. It's not the 'safest' way to look for misfired frogs, or anything else for that matter. Simple, basic firearms education could have prevented this terrible accident, but he 'did' fare better than the frog! )
The 'REAL' Reason Chrétien did not want to oust Saddam!
But what possible reason, ask most Americans, could cause our next door neighbor and closest trading partner Canada to stab us in the back? To side with France and Saddam Hussein against us? To cozy up to Fidel Castro (even though Chretien’s and Castro’s socialist politics are not all that different)? To boo and curse America’s national anthem at Canadian sporting events? To have members of Canada’s cabinet say vile things about the United States and its President – and then go unfired and unpunished by its Prime Minister? A few of us, however, know that Jean Chretien is a grandfather. Canadian oil tycoon and mega-billionaire Paul Desmarais, coincidentally, is also grandfather to the same grandchildren – his son Andre being married to Chretien’s daughter, whose very name is France. One of the French oil companies that had been closest to Saddam Hussein is Paris-based TotalFinaElf. Its biggest shareholder is the same Paul Desmarais, and his son Paul Jr., brother of Chretien’s son-in-law Andre, sits on Total’s Board of Directors. Jean Chretien has followed an anti-American, pro-Saddam Hussein policy that may be bad for Canada, but his family stood to make many, many, many millions of dollars if Hussein could by hook or crook be kept in power. To paraphrase its beautiful national anthem, Oh Canada, Jean prefers greed to thee. If Chretien seems greasy, it apparently is because his family fortune rises or falls by floating on the oil of Saddam’s Iraq and other undemocratic Middle Eastern nations.(Read this entire article! Do 'you' think it's all a coincidence? He might be a 'doddling old fart' but he's a crafty 'doddling old fart'. Unfortunatly, most Canadians are too naive to accept the facts as they lay!)
The Committee 'Grilling' of Flumian and Webster

Mr. Garry Breitkreuz: This contradicts what previous witnesses said, that this was treated as a major crown project. If it was treated as a major crown project, you, as the project leader, would have to be accountable for all aspects of the program and to report to those people. You're not sure those reports got there. You'd have to submit those reports to Treasury Board. id they not get there? Treasury Board should then have been aware of what was going on in the program. Didn't you feel some kind of responsibility to inform your political masters that this project could never be implemented, that all the firearms in Canada could probably never be registered, that the costs would skyrocket?
Ms. Maryantonett Flumian: Again, if the question is whether we reported to all the appropriate officials on our undertakings, we did. My comment was to point to the fact that most of our relationships were at the working level with officials from Treasury Board.
Mr. Garry Breitkreuz: Where are those reports now?
Ms. Maryantonett Flumian: It's been almost two years since I left the centre, but I'm sure they're available.
Mr. Garry Breitkreuz: We have tried to find some of those, and they say they are not available. So there's a conflict here between what you're telling us and what is actually happening. Why was there a need for Treasury Board to oversee this program? If you were doing your job, why did they need to have these oversight committees taking charge of the program? I'm really wondering about that as well.(Interesting reading.. Watch them squirm, watch them dodge, watch them 'try' to explain the waste!)
Manitoba holsters federal gun law
Winnipeg — The Manitoba government said Tuesday it won't prosecute gun owners charged with firearm registration offences. Instead, when police lay charges under the Criminal Code they will request that the federal government prosecute them, the province's Attorney-General Gord Mackintosh said. If Ottawa declines, Manitoba will stay the charges on the basis that prosecution by the province is contrary to the public interest. As well, conservation officers will not enforce or administer long gun registration laws. Mr. Mackintosh said there is no benefit in making criminals out of hunters and farmers. Alberta and Saskatchewan have also said they won't prosecute charges under Canada's controversial firearms law..(If a left of left wing NDP government can provincially dump the gun law, perhaps all the other provinces should stand-up  and be 'officially' counted. The conservation officers in Ontario that I have spoken to, are (personally) not asking for anything other than a valid hunting licence, unless an offence has occurred. Don't break the game laws, don't make an ass out of yourself, and/or commit a criminal offence  and it's highly unlikely you will be charged in Ontario either. Perhaps the Liberals should take a hint.. Nahh their just too thick and paranoid!)
Upbeat PM 'not ready' for retirement
Jean Chrétien has put to rest suspicions that he may opt for an early retirement, waxing nostalgic yesterday about his achievements as prime minister, of which Monday's election of a federalist government in Quebec was "the cherry on the sundae." Unbowed by criticism that his refusal to join the war on Iraq has soured Canada's relations with the U.S., Mr. Chrétien also said he's "very proud" of his determination to pursue an independent foreign policy. He went further down that path yesterday, declaring that Canada has no plans to impose economic sanctions on Syria as the U.S. is threatening to do. The U.S. alleges Syria is stockpiling chemical weapons and harbouring members of Saddam Hussein's former regime. "If the Americans decide to do that, they have the privilege to do that. For us, we're not planning to do anything like that," he told reporters as he wrapped up a three-day state visit to this Caribbean nation.(Oh Great! this doddling old fart plans on embarrassing Canadians for a while yet! What kind of embarrassment? If the U.S. puts sanctions on Syria, and 'Canada' continues to sell technology to Syria (we have no weapons worthwhile) I'm sure the U.S. will have a few 'sanctions' for Canada as well.. This man HAS to go, and quite frankly, there are many questioning his mental stability. He's already 'babbling', I think drooling is the next step! Powell says Bush will reschedule his visit to the Fall! Are you holding your breath? I'm not! Bush will wait until this clown has wandered back to shawinigan before setting foot in Canada. )
CFC POLICY SAYS “PROTECTION OF LIFE” IS A VALID REASON FOR OWNING AND CARRYING A FIREARM
REMEMBER WHEN JUSTICE MINISTER ALLAN ROCK SAID: "... protection of life is NOT a legitimate use for a firearm in this country sir! Not!  That is expressly ruled out!" SOURCE: Justice Minister Allan Rock "Canadian justice issues, a town hall meeting" - Producer - Joanne Levy, Shaw cable, Calgary (403) 250-2885 - Taped at the Triwood Community Centre in Calgary Dec.1994 (I'm sure that people who train people in 'use of force', also belong to gun clubs.. Why not get this hurdle out of the way and take the training.. Also A  Authorization to Carry, may not even be needed, or legal! )
Canada's gun laws will continue to be a cost-'inefficient' way to save lives
As surprising as it may seem, a few supporters of the gun registry have claimed that firearm registration has somehow caused Canadian gun deaths to decrease (see Professor Neil Boyd's op ed in The Globe and Mail, Jan. 20). This claim is surprising because gun deaths began to decline in the early 1990s, but the gun registry wasn't even started until 1997, and most gun owners still haven't registered their guns. Boyd argued that rifles and shotguns account for the majority of gun murders. That is no longer true. Statistics Canada data indicate that the period 19751979, the homicide rate per 100,000 population for long guns was 0.70 compared to 0.28 for handguns. For the period 1980-1984, the two rates were 0.53 and 0.28 respectively, and for the period 1985-1989, the rates were 0.43 and 0.20 respectively. The rates were nearly identical for the period 1990-1994 (0.36 for handguns versus 0.37 for long guns). Then the rates for long guns (0.26) fell below that for handguns (0.31) between 1995 and 1999. The gap increased for 2000-2001: 0.19 for long guns vs. 0.35 for handguns. But the key point is that this drop in the homicide rate for long guns occurred entirely before long guns had to be registered per Bill C-68. Further, it is also erroneous to claim that the number of recovered guns indicates what is used in homicides. Recovered guns include firearms turned over to the police by elderly people who want to get rid of them.(A favourite thing the gun control groups like to say is: "Sources have shown...Blah..blah.." but 'never' identify those 'sources' ! When in fact the 'only' sources that have shown 'anything' that can be backed with REAL, not contrived facts, have shown that gun bans and registration simply don't work. As a matter of fact, they have never worked anywhere in the free world! Have a look at Jamaica, The U.K., South Africa, Washington D.C., and the list goes on. It's been proven over and over again, Gun bans don't stop criminals, gun bans attract them. U.K. London is now experiencing that very phenomenon, and will never be the same again)
Que. Liberals trounce PQ
Charest, 44, born to a bilingual household and previously leader of the federal Progressive Conservative Party, will be the province's 29th premier and the first to come of age in Quebec's modern era."We're extremely happy tonight," Charest said as he left his father's home in Sherbrooke to greet supporters. Charest, meanwhile, kept his campaign focused on improved health care and fiscal management, saying the election choice was between change in that direction and a return to the constitutional strife of past years under a government bent on dragging Quebec into another sovereignty referendum.(Seeing that Charest was once leader of the 'federal' Conservatives, and campaigned on 'fiscal management', it will be interesting to see what he does with the horribly mismanaged Quebec registry. With Cauchon saying that he will be following 'the plan' everything will be consolidated outside Quebec anyway. Charest would be doing all Quebecers a favour if he just dumps it like the B.C. Liberals did. After all, its hard to campaign on good fiscal management while continuing to support funding to a program the 'Auditor General' identified as a 'black hole' of  fiscal incompetence.. Hell a good IPSIC competition in P.Q. might become a reality after all!)
Flow of illegal weapons north has police worried
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms in Seattle suspects the gun-smuggling operation stopped that night is just the tip of the iceberg. Now, in an attempt to stem the flow of illegal weapons destined for the B.C. underworld, it has opened an office in Blaine and assigned an ATF agent to the U.S. Consulate in Vancouver. "My experience tells me that when you have a bag of guns, a bag of diamonds and a bag of cash going across the border, this is not a firearms collector," said ATF supervisory special agent Doug Krogh in Seattle. (Unfortunately for the gun-o-phobic liberals, putting a Billion and a half dollars into policing and border security was not as high up on the list as harassing law abiding hunters and target shooters. Wasting  this much, on legal firearms, and their owners, while in comparison, ignoring the REAL problem is incomprehensible to most voters, and the Liberals are going to learn this soon! Perhaps if the Police would tell their 'Kiss-Ass' Canadian Police Association, to stop lobbying for more money to a useless legal gun registry, they might be able to re-direct those funds to where they will actually do some good, and save some lives in the process. Until they do this, they should stop their hypocritical whining for more police funds, and look at what is being wasted.)
13 CHARGED IN SWEEP FOR ILLEGAL GUNS
"They came into possession of (the gun club); they've gone out onto the streets through the conspirators. Serial numbers have been removed and silencers have been put on some of them ... No gun thefts were involved. "How (the guns) got in there (the club), we will be tracking that down," Det.-Insp. Bush said. Police have ruled out any connection with a cache of vintage weapons discovered by a roadside near Barrie and the violent robbery of a Vaughan gun shop last year. And no connection with organized crime has yet been established, but the investigation continues. The Ontario Provincial Police's Organized Crime Section was involved with the searches, according to information released after the raids. (More on the United Sports Raid!)
Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit - Undercover Operation Identifies Gun Traffickers
TORONTO, April 10 /CNW/ - A 14-month undercover operation resulted today in the arrest of 13 persons in the Greater Toronto area for trafficking and conspiracy to traffic in firearms and other related firearms offenses. Project PUN, conducted by the combined forces of the Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit (PWEU), uncovered a network of individuals who worked with a licensed establishment to divert legally possessed firearms into illegal crime guns. In conjunction with this investigation 16 search warrants were executed this morning in Toronto, Hamilton, Oshawa, Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Gormley, Aurora and Apsley. Over 100 officers from PWEU, Toronto Police Service, Peel Regional Police Service, Durham Regional Police Service, Halton Regional Police Service, York Regional Police Service, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Hamilton Police Service, Waterloo Regional Police, and the OPP Organized Crime Section were involved with these searches.(This included United Sports Shooting Ranges!!!  What happens now, to all the poor unfortunate gun owners that had 'prohibited class' guns on consignment with them and are no longer legally able to have possession of them due to not being 'grand fathered' into that class? Does the government get to confiscate them with the rest of United's inventory? This grand fathering is a lot of crap anyway! Why are 'some' people in this country 'more' privileged than others? Why are 'some' people and their descendants endowed with 'the safety gene' while other are not? What makes a 2 inch barrelled .38 'snub nose' more dangerous than a .44 magnum? As they say, it doesn't 'have' to make sense, it's government policy! )
Your help is Needed
Garry Breitkreuz needs your help to expose another lie: Through Access to Information we have obtained a Question Period Briefing Note dated May 28, 2002 prepared for the Justice Minister that states: "Reference and background checks are done on each Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) applicant." Garry needs written confirmation from PAL applicants that know for a fact that their references were never contacted before their PAL was issued. Privacy Commissioner: Liberal Plans: For any 'Good and sufficient Reason'
These initiatives, in and of themselves, violate our privacy. But they are even more disturbing because of the thresholds they cross and the doors they open. They redefine privacy, and redraw the lines of what’s an acceptable invasion of privacy. Mandatory self-identification to the police;monitoring of our communications activities and reading habits; the removal of our right to anonymity; systematic police observation of law-abiding citizens on public streets—on all of these counts, what has long been unthinkable in a free society threatens to become, not just thinkable, but a fait accompli. It’s because of their potential to transform our society that I’ve had to take such a strong stand against these measures. (Should it be 'normal' in a democracy, to have to continuously fight the government in order to prevent them from removing your 'rights' and 'Freedoms' ? When ever a liberal government comes to power, or worse, has been in power far too long. Canadians must spend a ridiculous amount of time, energy, and money in preventing them from passing more and more socialist legislation geared to citizen information collection, under the guise of "keeping you safe". FREEDOM = Safety, Safety DOES NOT = FREEDOM. No other political party, in the entire history of our nation has spent more of your tax dollars in the quest for eliminating your personal privacy. Do YOU think the Liberals have the RIGHT to monitor your private life in a 'democracy'? They seem to think so. After all, we 'have' been witness to the democratic process called 'VOTE YES OR YOUR FIRED' Chairman Jean used to pass the bill that funned even more money to the liberal's failed gun registry! What amazes me the most, is that he has yet to force a yes vote, that would make him 'Canadian President for life' or one that at least outlaws all opposing parties. Certainly looks as if were headed that way!)

*"It has been rumored that we have fired scud missiles into Kuwait. I am here now to tell you, we do not have any scud missiles and I don't know why they were fired into Kuwait." *"Iraqi fighters in Umm Qasr are giving the hordes of American and British mercenaries the taste of definite death. We have drawn them into a quagmire and they will never get out of it." *"What they say about a breakthrough [in Najaf] is completely an illusion. They are sending their warplanes to fly very low in order to have vibrations on these sacred places . . . they are trying to crack the buildings by flying low over them." *"Listen, this explosion does not frighten us any longer. The cruise missiles do not frighten anyone. We are catching them like fish in a river. I mean here that over the past two days we managed to shoot down 196 missiles before they hit their target." * "You can go and visit those places. Nothing there, nothing at all. There are Iraqi checkpoints. Everything is okay." *I just would like to say that it is a valid and important tool for our Canadian society, and that again we must bear in mind as well that we are talking about public safety. * The hon. member should recognize that the policy of gun control is a good and valid policy that works in this country and elsewhere. *  “Revocations of licences are about 32 times higher than in the last five years of the previous program…” *The gun registry is, “...worth proceeding with such a fantastic value as protecting our society.”(Well, those last few were actually from Martin Cauchon! Pretty hard to tell the difference eh!.. All based on the theory that if you repeat a lie often enough, 'some' people, particularly the very gullible,  will begin to believe it! The Liberal government of Canada, places an awful lot of faith in this theory. Just as if , Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf  has personally instructed them in the art!! )
"The Americans got it right. Goddamn, they got it right. And it is to Canada's eternal shame that we wanted no part of this."
It was a symbolic, transcendent moment. It was history in the making. "This is our Iwo Jima," Sutherland crowed, as Baghdadis nearly smothered him to death with gratitude. "Man, I'm loving it." "I cannot express to you my happiness at this moment," said a tearful Shakir Ali Skhil Al Dilam. "This is like a dream come true. Almost all my life, I have waited for my country to be free of this bastard Saddam Hussein. I am 47 years old, but I feel like today I have been reborn. "Please, please, tell the Americans how thankful we are. I love America! And I think America must love us, too, to have done this. I am just sorry that so many American and British had to die in my country, so that we could be free. I hope, for all these martyrs, a place in paradise." But what of the Iraqi civilians, the women and children and elderly, who've been killed in the past three weeks? Al Dilam bows his head. "I am sorry for them. I feel pain in my heart for all these innocents who were killed. But they died because of Saddam Hussein. "This is the shame of Iraq. That so many people had to die, not just civilians but soldiers who had no choice but to fight. And for what? This is how it had to end. Iraq was never going to win this war." The Americans got it right. Goddamn, they got it right. And it is to Canada's eternal shame that we wanted no part of this. (And ALL Canadians should remember this shame come voting day. A great Liberal purge will will do much to bring back the Canadian pride our fathers and grandfathers felt for this country. Jean Chrétien: A Legacy of  Shame, a Legacy of Embarrassment, and A Legacy of Waste...)
'Big brother' travel database restricted
OTTAWA - Canadians have won a historic victory with the federal government's decision to rein in its "Big Brother" database, the privacy commissioner said Wednesday. "It would of course be preferable from a privacy perspective not to have this database at all, or to have it absolutely restricted to anti-terrorism purposes," George Radwanski said in a news release. (Isn't it 'sad' that in Canada, a "Historic Victory" is a 'celebration' of  "Victory" by ordinary Canadians, over their Government! When you have a government that is closer to a 'dictatorship' than a democracy, Canadians need all the "Historic Victories" they can get.. At least until the next election!)
Place the blame for gun violence where it belongs
One thing that has been shown to impact upon the use of illegal firearms is the enforcement of tough, longstanding federal laws that guarantee jail time in federal facilities for criminals caught with illegal firearms. In the cities where this zero tolerance approach has been tested, the prospect of serving time in a federal facility has formed a powerful enough deterrent to actually alter criminal behavior. One such program, Project Exile, mandates an automatic five-year sentence in a federal prison for anyone caught carrying an illegal handgun. While offering recent testimony on the effectiveness of Project Exile, the assistant director of field operations for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Andrew Vita, told the story of a criminal who they caught with a substantial quantity of drugs. "Surprisingly," recalls Vita, "no guns were recovered during the search. It was the first time officers could remember a defendant with such large quantities of drugs not being armed in any way. Later, the prosecutor questioned the defendant extensively about where the guns were, the defendant finally stated, 'haven't you heard, man? Five years!'"(The results of programs such as this, are lost on the Canadian Liberal ideals, that seem to be rooted in the falicy that: 'If every one we can control is unarmed, then crime will some how vanish'.  And, 'there is no such thing as a criminal.  Kindness, education, social acceptance, and rehabilitation is the answer' Ya, remember that while you are attending your childs funeral!)
Crime is rampant in England
The crazy part of this story is not only the increases in crime across the board, but the fact that "police have been ordered not to bother investigating crimes such as burglary, vandalism and assaults unless evidence pointing to the culprits is easily available" (news.telegraph.co.uk, Jan. 12, 2003). The police have new guidelines ordering them to focus on "serious" crimes such as murder, rape or hate crimes. Oliver Letwin, Conservative home affairs spokesman stated, "This news will be regarded as the final nail in the coffin of this Government's policy on crime. Instead of zero tolerance it seems that we are to be faced with total tolerance" (news.telegraph.co.uk, Dec. 12, 2002). What is interesting about all of this is that England has such strict gun laws, that a person is not allowed to own any kind of gun, they are even considering outlawing airguns. One would think that guns are the cause of crime. In other words, more guns equals more crime, the fact is just the opposite. According to the United Nations, England and Wales have the highest crime rate among the world's leading economies. The report shows that people are more likely to be mugged, houses burglarized, robbed and assaulted in England than in the United States, Germany, Russia, South Africa, or any of the world's 20 largest countries (The U.K. Has become a 'Nation of Victims' and all it took was the "Sensible first step" which lead to citizen disarmament, and criminal safety. This is a society where you can be thrown in prison for brandishing a cap pistol which results in  'causing fear' to a home invader! And, as stupid as that seems, it's true. Welcome to the Liberal Socialist Utopia!)
Gun Laws 'Down Under' Start to look very Familiar
HORDES of pre-1900 firearms held by some Midlands landowners would have to be registered under new gun legislation, the Tasmanian Firearm Owners Association said yesterday. Meanwhile, the National Coalition for Gun Control said the bill was a "spectacular failure" because gun-owners would simply swap one class of lethal semi-automatic handguns for another. National Coalition for Gun Control chairman Roland Browne said the amendments were a spectacular failure in removing handguns from the hands of civilians. The group wants all high-powered, semi-automatic handguns banned. "In the short term there will be 1000 fewer handguns in Tasmania because short-barrelled handguns and those with a magazine capacity of more than 10 rounds will be prohibited," Mr Browne said. He said owners compensated in the buyback scheme would simply buy another semi-automatic handgun. "We will substitute longer-barrelled, high-powered, semi-automatic handguns having 10-round magazines for shorter-barrelled, high-powered, semi-automatic handguns with magazines of more than 10 rounds," he said. He said the longer barrel to be made legal was even more lethal because it was more accurate. (The only thing "spectacular" about this, is a classic example of 'Group Paranoia'! A paranoid is a paranoid, and there is no level of control over the object of their fear that will satisfy a classic paranoid! But, they 'should' rejoice that  there is finally 'real' proof of something in their organization! Unfortunately for them it's 'classic' and common among the Wendy's of the world!!)
Perth-Middlesex byelection May 12
Though MP candidates have been gearing up for weeks, the Perth-Middlesex race officially began Sunday as Prime Minister Jean Chretien announced a May 12 byelection. It's been six months since the riding's Liberal MP John Richardson resigned from Parliament due to health problems, and Chretien had until the end of this week to set this vote's date. While some candidates are pointing to the long wait as a sign of Liberal weakness. (The only 'real' fly in the ointment of course, is the Conservative Candidate buzzing around like a fly on a turd accomplishing nothing but splitting the 'right' vote, and giving the Liberal a better chance than should be available)
Gun registry set to come under fire in Wallaceburg
(Canoe link- will vanish in 24 hours or less)
Outspoken Canadian Alliance MP Garry Breitkreuz will take aim at the Liberal government's gun registry at a public meeting in Wallaceburg tonight. The controversial issue was thrust back into the spotlight last month when the Liberal government pushed through an additional $59 million for the program. Breitkreuz, a long-time registry opponent, has dubbed the gun-registration system "a billion-dollar boondoggle." It's a charged issue in many rural areas of Canada. "One of the biggest (activities here) is wildlife hunting and fishing," said Brian Richardson, a member of the Alliance executive for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex riding.  "There are a lot of law-abiding gun owners who find this very invasive." (Boy! The word "invasive" is a understatement if I ever heard one!.. Go get-em Garry.. )
WHY VOTE FOR LIBERALS IF THEY WON’T VOTE FOR YOU?
On Tuesday, March 25th, we saw a clear demonstration of a serious flaw in our democratic system: Many Liberal MPs put Jean Chrétien’s wishes ahead of their constituents’ wishes, by voting to pour another $59 million into the failed firearms registry.  Two days later, an editorial in a major national paper said it all: “So when backbenchers claim they have no influence, remember: People without spines rarely stand tall.” Even on the day before the vote, newspapers trumpeted that a revolt was in the works – that as many as 20 Liberal MPs were considering defying the Prime Minister, despite his threat to expel them from caucus if they voted against the new registry money.  It was reported that more than one Liberal MP was in tears at the thought of flouting the express wishes of constituents one more time, simply because Jean Chrétien told the Liberal caucus how to vote. (Chances are very good that you live in an area that has voted a 'Spineless Liberal M.P.' into office. A Liberal M.P. that's under the impression that 'One Billion dollars and climbing' is not an important issue. A Liberal M.P. that is quick to discard the democratic process and bow to the demands of a lame duck prime minister, simply to save his or her job and the perks that go along with it. A Liberal M.P. that thinks registering duck guns is vastly more important than supplying your local hospital with a MRI unit. A Liberal M.P. that promotes more funding to a fantasy gun registry, aimed squarely at the law abiding, than increased funding to Cancer research. A Liberal M.P. that thinks YOUR NOT THAT IMPORTANT!!  Perhaps they should be taught once and for all just how important the 'ordinary' voter is.. The Ontario riding of Perth-Middlesex is about to have that chance in a by-election May 12, 2003 . It's time to send the message to Ottawa. We're Mad as Hell, and Were not Going To Take It Anymore!!)
Boiling lobsters could be prosecuted under C-10B: Senator Furey
OTTAWA--It could be a crime to boil lobsters if the government's cruelty to animals bill is proclaimed in its current form, says the chair of the Senate's Rules and Constitutional Affairs Committee Grit Senator George Furey, who declares that the legislation is so vague it could open the door to a host of new offences. Liberal Senator George Furey (Newfoundland and Labrador), whose committee is in the final days of its study of Bill C-10B, said expert testimony convinced him that the legislation must be amended because the wording is so vague it could include cephalopods, or molluscs with distinct tentacled heads, such as octopuses, squids, and cuttlefish. "There was no definitive evidence on that but there was enough to show that if we didn't tidy that up there could be some vagueness there that could create problems," Sen. Furey told The Hill Times. (Another group of 'wack-o' lobbyists is supporting this bill, and doing their best to force it through without thought. If allowed to pass as is, Fishing for example, would or 'could' be outlawed because the fringe groups tend to ignore scientific data and continue to think fish feel pain. If  ridiculous groups such as PETA get their way, we will all be out on the front lawn grazing.. Oh wait, better not try that either! Scientist have discovered that Plants Scream.  )
Gun sales stop at California  Wal-Marts
Sacramento -- Wal-Mart, the nation's largest seller of guns, agreed Friday to immediately halt the sale of firearms at its 118 California stores after an investigation by Attorney General Bill Lockyer found numerous violations of state gun laws. Lockyer said six Wal-Mart stores inspected by his office in the Central Valley and Sacramento had violated state laws 490 times, including two incidents where guns were sold to convicted felons. Along with numerous paperwork errors, some guns were released before background checks were finished or fingerprints were taken. (One of the absurdities of the Canadian F.A. is that although YOU need a licence to obtain a simple box of .22 cal., The pimply faced adolescent at WalMark/Cdn Tire/Et. Al,  that has the keys to a cabinet containing thousands of rounds of various types of ammunition, does not!)
Liberals... I Hate those Bastards!
Two-thirds of Canadian corporate leaders say their business is already being hurt by strains in Canada-U.S. relations, a new poll has found. "The strength of opinion is that it's beginning to hurt Canadian business," said Conrad Winn, chief executive of COMPAS Inc., which conducted the poll for the National Post. "An overwhelming majority are saying that if we didn't pay a price for this today, we certainly will tomorrow." Up to 87% of business leaders believe Americans are especially resentful of anti-U.S. comments made by senior Canadian politicians. About 65% say that strain is beginning to affect or has already hurt Canadian access to the giant U.S. market. The poll is based on a survey of 168 chief executives of small- to medium-sized Canadian companies, as well as executives of local and national chambers of commerce from April 1 to April 3. "I am terribly worried. There is definitely some damage that has been done," Thomas D'Aquino, head of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives, which represents more than 100 of the country's most influential companies, said yesterday.(When 'Stupid' Liberals open their mouths and embarrass themselves, it's funny. But when Stupid Liberals open their mouths and embarrass the country it's disgraceful. Unfortunately, 'Stupid Liberals' make up the majority of our 'current' government. Perhaps it's now time for Canadian Business to start looking at the political alternative to the proliferation of 'Stupid Liberal Tricks' that are endangering our economy)
Meet the New C.F.C. er.. Iraqi Information Minister
BAGHDAD - The U.S. army fought its way into the heart of Baghdad on Monday morning, seized a presidential palace, blew up a pair of statues of Saddam Hussein, destroyed the Baath party headquarters, and surrounded the information ministry.  The Iraqi information minister denied any of it had happened. Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf told a news conference that U.S. forces were not in Baghdad, that they had been killed trying to enter the city. (Word has it, that when the war is over, and Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf  has immigrated to Canada, a job is waiting for him at the C.F.C. right next to David Austin. I am also told the 'only' requirement for the job, is to be able to bend over and stick your head up your ass in a moments notice!!)
A 'Legacy of Shame': Thanks 'Jean' You have Done What No Other P.M. has done since Trudeau
Americans have poured out expensive French wine and have boycotted the Bush-bashing Dixie Chicks in the name of patriotism. When France opposed in the United Nations America’s position on Iraq, “French” fries became “freedom” fries. After Canada aligned with France in the United Nation, Canucks also found themselves in the crosshairs of American anger. A Lawrenceville businessman has even taken his anti-Canada political statements to eBay, refusing to sell his wares to a Canadian man who was the high bidder for a laser printer.  Sid Mitchell, owner of CompAtlanta in Lawrenceville, sells nearly $10,000 worth of computer equipment on eBay every month. He decided to use his business presence on eBay to make a pro-American political statement, after Canada and other countries in the United Nations voted against an invasion of Iraq.(For the first time in Canadian history, 'ordinary' people are taking out ads in U.S. newspapers and holding 'Pro American' Rallies to counter stories such as this.  Ads to tell Americans we are ashamed of our government.  Ashamed of a government that does not speak for the majority of Canadians, but speaks only for the cowardly liberal yuppies, that if under attack would be quick to hide behind the coat tails of the American Military! A government that has abandoned the democratic process by passing laws that directly, and continuously, undermine our constitution. A government that is so ripe with scandals,  patronage, and waste, that they actually have to threaten their own members to pass and extend even more wasteful 'people control' spending.  A government that buys 100 million dollar corporate jets for the use of top politicians, while watching our old decrepit military helicopters fall from the sky injuring their crews. A government that has been lined up at the trough for so long, that it can no longer comprehend what it actually takes for 'real' taxpayers to earn all that this government wastes. A government that will be quick to learn, come the next election, that Saddam's regime is not the only regime that has it's days numbered!)
Conflicting Iraq motions dominate Parliament
OTTAWA - Deputy Prime Minister John Manley said he regrets recent anti-American comments made by some Liberals, but that the government would not support an Opposition motion to apologize for the remarks.(Kind of says it all Doesn't it? Also See: Canada's war stance prompts U.S. backlash )
Media-Induced Gun Myths
Lott's The Bias Against Guns Exposes Slanted Coverage
Dr. John R. Lott has done it again. The best selling author of the aptly-titled More Guns, Less Crime has penned an appropriately titled sequel: The Bias Against Guns: Why Almost Everything You’ve Heard About Gun Control is Wrong (published by Regnery, a sister company of HUMAN EVENTS). Lott, an economist who has held positions at Yale Law School, the University of Chicago, UCLA, and Stanford University, has put together an original study from empirical research that demonstrates every plausible facet of the pro-gun position. With this book in hand (which includes more than 50 pages of notes), you can confidently debate that disbelieving brother-in-law or naive neighbor.(If  people like Wendy had her way, every gun in the world would display a sticker that says "Evil Inside" ! There is no other reason for her paranoia regarding firearms. Knives for example, wound and kill more people in Canada than any other weapon. They are also responsible for far more accidents! The problem is not, and never has been 'guns'. We live in a increasingly dangerous world, and disarming law abiding citizens only makes them victims. History has shown over, and over again, those who beat their weapons into plowshares, will end up  plowing for those who didn't, and no amount of  Flowerpower Liberal Politics will ever change that fact. Canadian are different from Americans only in the fact that Canadians have lived in this safe little cocoon for the last 50-60 years, and when faced with a violent situation, have been taught to run and hide.  Therefore, the perpetrators of the violent situations usually win, and worse yet, usually expect to win. This is life in a disarmed, defenceless society. If consecutive Liberal governments continue to 'rule', you better get use to it! Remember, when all guns are banned and confiscated, people who own 'sharp sticks' will still be free'er than those that don't.)
Nunavimmiut press Cauchon on gun control
Nunavik officials pressed Canada’s justice minister last weekend to explain why many of the region’s hunters have yet to receive gun licenses they applied for months ago. "We informed him that there were still some applicants that had taken the gun safety course that had not received their license and had been waiting for some time and we would like the minister to check into progress and see what the delay was," Gordon said. These delays have ranged from several months to years, he said. Gordon passed on concerns that some hunters in the region are now having difficulty purchasing ammunition or firearms. The delays, he said, are beginning to affect their ability to provide for their families. Cauchon reportedly made no promises but agreed to check on  application delays and funding possibilities.(Ya, but the city political yuppies are so much safer now that northern sustenance hunters are not migrating southward with their guns to rape, pillage, and rob. The fact that these people even have to bother with city Liberal gun control paranoia is absurd anyway. And oh ya Cauchon.. Go find MORE funding to further increase the waste, simply so city people can falsely feel safe in the knowledge that they will never be shot by a un licensed seal hunter!)
Bag full of weapons found in rural ditch
A large-calibre find was made last week in a rural roadside ditch in New Tecumseth, south of Barrie. Nottawasaga OPP were contacted by someone who found a large supply of firearms, most of them dating back to the Second World War. Sitting in the open in a ditch, the two dozen or so weapons included two .50-calibre machine guns, light machine guns, rifles, an artillery shell and even a bazooka. "They appear to be part of a collection and had been left in a ditch apparently for quite some period of time," said OPP Sgt. Jeff Oerton. The cache included German, American and British weapons. Among the more exotic was an American bazooka, a German shoulder-fired anti-tank rocket launcher called a Panzerfaust (literally "tank fire"), a couple of Thompson machine guns and a heavy German MG42 machine gun. There was also a water-cooled machine gun dating back to the First World War. However, in this case, police are left scratching their heads since some of the weapons were already disabled. "That sounds like an interesting collection," said Col. Stuart Beaton, curator of the military Museum at Canadian Forces Place Borden. "I wonder why they would have thrown them away in a ditch like that?" (This sounds like the 'inheritors' of a firearms collection, faced with the fear of being instant criminals, decided to dump the guns. Legally, there is no amnesty in place, and most people who are unfamiliar with firearms would not recognize the fact the many were disabled. What they see, are 'guns' and lots of them. What do we do? Get rid of them! Where? who cares, as long as 'we' don't go to prison! Their guns, their evil, their dangerous, and the police will arrest us.. DUMP THE GUNS! .. Boy would I have loved to 'cherry pick' that pile first! Hopefully, they go to a military museum, instead of a date with the hydraulic iron worker in a scrap yard)
In a world of violence
MANY OF US have grown up on violence: point-and-shoot video  games, "professional" wrestling, music lyrics that describe thug life, television programs and movies that leave no act of carnage to the imagination. Fictional violence. The images pale beside the realities of America at war, now dominating TV programming. War is real. The rest of that stuff on the tube is entertainment, and with a click of the remote, we can make it go away. And if there are children watching, especially at this time of pervasive images of bombs and masked soldiers, perhaps that's just what we should do. It's an urgent challenge: Research shows that kids who are saturated in TV violence grow up to behave aggressively as adults. (Those who were around in the 60's and early 70's, will remember there were lots of guns around.  At 14 you could walk into a store with a note from your parent(s) and buy what ever you wanted. usually it was a .22 cooey.  ALL of my friends had .22 rifles, and the thought of using one to shoot at someone never even entered our minds! Why? Well, there were lots of examples on T.V., Every television cowboy was armed with a handgun, and a winchester, and the 'bad guy' ALWAYS Lost., The 'Bad' Guy' was always depicted as a villain, not some 'cool guy' that dropped out of school, shoots his gun sideways, and slaps his girlfriend around! Perhaps there's something to learn from this.)
Government backs off on second registry bill
The government has withdrawn plans to ram through another controversial bill dealing with the firearms registry next week, but the retreat could add millions of dollars to the already ballooning cost of the program. Government House leader Don Boudria took the bill off the legislative agenda in the face of stiff resistance from the opposition and Liberal backbenchers and because of legal complications caused by the proposed transfer of the gun registry to the Solicitor General's Department. Easter admitted that the savings the government planned in order to keep the cost of the program at $113 million over the next year will not occur until C10a becomes law. Even with the savings, the government estimates the program will cost $1.072 billion by 2005. It was introduced in 1995, and took effect in 1998. Alliance MP Garry Breitkreuz said the government is fearful of bringing the bill to a Commons vote next week because of the political fallout as well as the legal complications.   (As if Discussing 'savings' regarding a program of dubious benefit, that is already a BILLION Dollars over budget is not ridiculous enough! But thinking Canadians will accept that those 'savings' won't come into effect, until this latest piece of garbage gets rammed through our farce of a democracy provided by the Liberals, is not simply a ploy and something to blame, while paving the way for EVEN MORE FUNDS is even more ridiculous! (Whew Long Sentence!) As in ALL Liberal fiascos, something else will happen, and the cost will go up again, and again, and again..! It would seem, that Allan Rock placed a HUGE cow pie in the middle of the Liberal Caucus, and now they all take turns jumping in it,  and watching it splatter taxpayers all over the country! Canadians are starting to rebel! I have heard people that have voted liberal all their lives say they will never vote Liberal again. Perhaps, when the economic fallout from the Liberal American bashing starts to effect Southern Ontario, even 'they' will come to realize what a bunch of wasteful clowns we have running this country. From the Chrétien 'Legacy of Waste' to the Paul Martin 'Blind Trust' (Currently in the hands of his children, whom he believes, we assume, he will never be in contact with). Canadians are starting to hold their collective noses, as the Liberals plunge in and out of the trough. But you know what, Chrétien/ Martin / et al - You can only hold your nose for so long, before the 'Stink' starts to become unbearable, and a election is publicly demanded for no other reason, than to take out the trash!)
American eco-terrorists declare war
As war unfolds, Iraqi sleeper cells and al Qaeda operatives aren't the only threats we face on the domestic front. Homegrown environmental radicals cast their own fatwah on America this week. And they're not just talking about lighting tea candles while they sing Bob Dylan tunes in their Birkenstocks. These anarchist menaces are deadly serious about undermining national security through physical and economic harm. In a manifesto published this week across left-wing Internet sites, infamous eco-thug Craig Rosebraugh called on his antiwar troops to take "direct actions" against American military establishments, urban centers, corporations, government buildings and media outlets. (Hopefully as Treasonous Terrorists,  they will provide entertaining 'moving targets' to Americans that 'carry' and KNOW they have the right to protect what's theirs.)
Transfer on hold: Glitches keep gun registry in Cauchon's hands, and
'Another' target the Registry can't hit!
OTTAWA — The Liberal government, citing bureaucratic and political glitches, has put off transferring responsibility for the federal gun registry from Justice Minister Martin Cauchon to Solicitor General Wayne Easter. The shift, part of a wider plan to defuse criticism of the financially troubled registry, had been scheduled to take effect Tuesday, the first day of the government's 2003-04 fiscal year. But Easter confirmed Monday it wouldn't be possible to meet that self-imposed target."It's still in flux," he said outside the Commons. "It's basically completing some of the detail, in terms of transferring from one department to another, but it will happen in the not too distant future." The exact timing will likely depend on passage of legislation currently before the Commons that creates a new post of firearms commissioner, likely to be filled by Baker, to oversee gun control. The legislation - Bill C-10A - also establishes new procedures to help streamline the program. One key provision would stagger gun registration renewals rather than have them all expire at the same time and thus create a bureaucratic bottleneck. The government hopes to push the bill through Parliament as early as next week. "There are no certainties in this business, but we shouldn't be looking at a long delay," Baker said.(Or, perhaps Easter is really not that happy? After all who wants to be a Lightning Rod for Liberal screw ups anyway? As Baker, the soon-to-be gun 'overseer' said, "There are no certainties in this business".  It's plain to see, that  the taxpayer is STILL getting "fluxed". What I find highly amusing is, every so often one of them will speak of a slight Snafu!! With virtually NO liberals with ANY military experience, they do not seem to be aware that Snafu is actually the acronym S.N.A.F.U. which means Situation Normal - All F..ked Up and THAT may be the most accurate explanation of  all)
It All Boils Down To Un-Treated Symptoms of Paranoia
Wendy Cukiers 'message' that contained all the 'to-be-expected' propaganda that now seems to be the C.F.C. mantra.. i.e. 7000 (un documented) refusals, 1500-2000 police requests per day(resulting in largely useless information, or none at all), the (now waning) support of 70% of (uninformed) Canadians.. blah..blah..blah.. However, this excerpt from the first paragraph of  her diatribe hits the nail right on the head, and reveals what this is all about. Uncontrolled, un treated paranoia: "The FAC system was not a licensing system. The FAC was required to acquire guns, not to possess them. Consequently, two-thirds of gun owners in Canada did not have valid FACs. In addition, there were approximately six million firearms in circulation and no one knew who owned them. "(Who Cares who owns them? The extent of the paranoia is evident! 99.999% of the guns in circulation, will NEVER be a problem to the police, or society in general.  To claim that simply because there are 'items' in public hands, of which only a fraction of 1% will ever cause a problem to society should cause 'everyone's' alarm, says vastly more about the people making these silly paranoid statements, than the items themselves. What's next? Pointed objects? Blunt objects? Bridges over 3 feet high? Closets, corners and basements without lights? Where does it all end? Why are the inmates controlling the asylum?)

For Those that 'Don't' Support the U.S. in Iraq, Read This and Think
What emerged was something so awful that it is difficult even now to write about it. Discussing with the head of our tribe what I should do as I wanted to stay in Baghdad with our people during their time of trial I was told that I could most help the Assyrian cause by going out and telling the story to the outside world. Simply put, those living in Iraq, the common, regular people are in a living nightmare. From the terror that would come across the faces of my family at a unknown visitor, telephone call, knock at the door I began to realize the horror they lived with every day.  Over and over I questioned them `Why could you want war? Why could any human being desire war?` They're answer was quiet and measured. `Look at our lives!`We are living like animals. No food, no car, no telephone, no job and most of all no hope.`(In my opinion, our government has chosen a 'shameful' approach to this conflict. To abandon our greatest friend and protector, in favour of some 'flowerpower' approach in trying to relate what might be politically correct in our world to the suffering of the Iraqi people at the hands of 'their' dictator is simply WRONG. The sooner we have a 'Regime Change' here, the better!)
U.K. Gun amnesty 'will help cut crime'
The national firearms amnesty to help rid the streets of illegal guns – first reported by The Independent – runs until 30 April. The move precedes the introduction of tougher sentences for illegal possession of prohibited firearms – a minimum five-year jail term for those convicted. Every police station will accept the weapons. Police chiefs called the first amnesty in seven years amid growing concern that gun crime is becoming commonplace in many cities. During the last amnesty, which  followed the school massacre at Dunblane in Scotland, 23,000 firearms and 700,000  rounds of ammunition were surrendered.(They weren't "surrendered" they were stolen/confiscated by the government, under penalty of imprisonment. In a country that throws citizens in jail for 'defending' themselves, a gun could be useless anyway. Once your DEAD you don't need one.. The U.K. 'is' the safest place for criminals, no wonder they 'flock' there )
And the "Culture of Safety" Continues
A 16-year-old black man from Ottawa South was apprehended after the robbery. Police say items related to the Friday swarmings were found on him. He was charged with four counts of robbery, one count of use of a firearm while committing an indictable offence, four counts of breach of undertaking and obstructing police. Police are looking for 15 black men and one white man, 17 to 20, for the swarming of the girls. Meanwhile, about 9:20 last night, three black men with guns and a hatchett robbed a video store at 1787 Kilborn Ave. After taking video games, they robbed a man of his wallet and his car. And at 10:10 p.m. two masked black men with guns held up a Harvey's restaurant at Bank Street and Hunt Club Road.(Mabe if Ottawa starts to look like Toronto, their police Chief might decide the Gun Registry is pretty useless as well.. Nawww, but I do think the Ottawa Police Chief is in for a rude awakening if he ever crawls out of the Liberal backpocket)
Awards for waste go to Chrétien, gun registry
OTTAWA - Prime Minister Jean Chrétien and thhe federal gun registry were the two big winners in the fifth annual Teddies, the Canadian Taxpayers Federation announced Monday. It gives the awards to civil servants, politicians and government agencies it feels has squandered public funds, overtaxed, excessively regulated, shown a lack of accountability or any combination of those. (Chrétien's) legacy of public debt, record spending and a visible contempt for parliamentary democracy earn our prime minister the 2003 lifetime achievement Teddy," said a tuxedo-clad Walter Robinson, the federation's director. The gun registry won for costing more than 430 times its original estimate. Provincially and municipally, the city of Winnipeg won for spending $1 million on a toilet for a footbridge as part of a $5-million urban facelift project. (I could also see the Liberals spending a Million on a Toilet. After all, they 'do' need it!)

BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE Documentary or Fiction?
Bowling makes its points by deceiving and by misleading the viewer. Statements are made which are false. Moore invites the reader to draw inferences which he must have known were wrong. Indeed, even speeches shown on screen are heavily edited, so that sentences are assembled in the speaker's voice, but which he never uttered. These occur with such frequency and seriousness as to rule out unintentional error. Any polite description would be inadequate,so let me be blunt. Bowling uses deliberate deception as its primary tool of persuasion and effect. Serious charges require serious evidence. The point is not that Bowling is unfair, or that its conclusions are incorrect. No, the point is that Bowling is deliberately, seriously, and consistently deceptive. A viewer cannot count upon any aspect of it, even when the viewer believes he is seeing video of an event occurring or a person speaking. Words are cheap. Let's look at the evidence.(The Oscar for this edited crap, only degrades the award below the gilded fraud it already is!  Michael Moore, is the Michael Bellesile of the film industry, and it's coming back to haunt him. This link shows Moore for what he actually is, A Liar and distorter of the truth. This 'sham' of a 'documentary(?) is as phoney as Bellesile's "Arming of America" fraud. Which only shows, the ignorant are quick to heap rewards on what they 'want' to believe, regardless of the truth.)
