What's the name of that character?
Trying to find the name of that squiggly thing at the top left corner
of your keyboard? It's called a "tilde". Every character has
a name, but it's not always easy to find them. There are several lists
of ISO Latin characters on the Web, but not all of them have the names.
I found one list that has both the character description (English name)
as well as the PostScript name (which are sometimes different). Although
the document is mostly aimed at Web developers, it's a handy table for
us in the design/production world too:
