September/2000 Tech Notes

This Month:

The September/2000 Tech Notes review the Division's Summer 2000 computer maintenance program. These are the procedures performed by Division technicians on all school workstations and servers. During the summer, all computers are cleaned, including the keyboard, outer case, and monitor. Also, the interior of the case is vacuumed out. Following the physical cleaning, various additional software and hardware upgrades are performed, as is appropriate to the individual system. These updates are detailed in the September/2000 Tech Notes. Due to time constraints and staffing levels, not all Division systems were seen during the summer. Technicians wishing to complete these procedures on workstations not seen during the summer may use these tech notes as a reference guide.
