| Personality: Being brought up as an only child, Jamie tends to be self-reliant and works alone. He doesn't
like to admit when he needs help. Sometimes edgy to what people might think of him. Other than that, he
is kind at heart and willing to help others. In costume, Jamie is much of a thrill-seeker who sees the
whole superhero business as a game for now. |
| Motivation: |
| Why That Name?: The name use to be the name of a previous hero who once wore the mask. Jamie found out
through research that he is now the third person to own the same mask as the previous wearers. Finding
out that they went by the name Nightmask, Jamie felt an urge to carry on their legacy as a superhero. |

History: Jamie had a normal up bringing by his parents in Paragon City since birth. The Lawson
family lived in the suburbs with no real problem except for the occasional racial slanders but that did not bring them down. He was always an observer of
people and why they do the things they do as a small child especially when he saw his first sighting of
costumed people doing battle with other costumed people on TV. Since then, Jamie has grown more and
more fascinated by these people. Jamie started to collect books, magazines or anything related on super
beings.
One day while shopping downtown in Paragon City with
his mother, they passed by an old antique shop and they both stopped to take a look inside. His mother
went to check out a nice coffee table as Jamie wandered about the store in boredom until he noticed a violet and black case that did not seem like an
antique but more so a semi-antique. He opened it up to peek inside and there was what seemed to be a
simple black mask sitting upward. The type one would wear to a normal
Halloween party. But there was something different about it Jamie noticed. It was
not of cheap material where it would break easily. Being a collector of such, Jamie begged his mother to buy it and she did so after giving in.
On the drive back home that evening, Jamie tried on the mask admiring the look in the side mirror. When
they got home, he rushed into the house without turning on any of the lights but when his mother
turned them on a bright flash appeared to him and as a reaction, he took the mask off frantically as he ran
into his room. After some time, Jaime began to realize the powers of this mask and quickly knew what
he must do.
