Hi Elizabeth,
I've just read your very interesting piece on the barque The George Fyffe.
I'm a descendant of Thomas Belton Kemp and the information I have on the voyage was that it was baby Hannah Kemp 2yrs that died on the voyage. Thomas was 7 1/2 at the time and went on to become my great grandfather. I'm not sure where the info came from that I have, so would be grateful if you can verify anything else that is different. My info also states there was only 1 death on board that of a woman in her confinement, and there were 3 births.
Many thanks Elizabeth for your sharing of ships decryptions etc.
Heather Kemp

My Great Great grandfather Thomas Belton Kemp only stayed in Port Phillip for 7 months then left with his family for NZ on the barque "Bolina" He was employed to travel with a herd of catle being shipped. I noticed that the eldest child Charles 17 was not listed with the family. Is it possible he is listed with the single men as he did arrive with them.
