Friday, January 3, 1840 The Port Phillip Herald reports on Page 3, Marriage on Thurs 26 Dec 1839 by the Rev Mr Waterfield, Mr Edwin Leadbeatter of this place, to Miss Martin, eldest dau of the late Thomas Martin Esq of Deeping Fen, Lincolnshire and sister of Mr Martin, settler, Port Phillip
Thomas Martin was born Abt. 1779 in Witton, Huntingdonshire, Eng, son of Elizabeth and Thomas Martin, and died 28 January 1833 in Deeping Fens, Spalding, Lincolnshire, Eng. He married 12 April 1806 in Witton, Huntingdonshire, ENG, to Betty Blott daughter of John Blott and Sarah, born Abt. 1786 in Witton, Huntingdonshire, ENG, and died Bef. 29 January 1843 in Brighton, VIC
Mary Martin b Abt. 1815 in Spalding, Lincolnshire, d 12 August 1881 Bairnsdale, VIC aged 65. She m. Edwin Leadbetter 26 December 1839 in Melbourne, Vic. He was b Abt. 1817 in York, ENG, and d. May 1866 in VIC aged 49. Mary, Sarah Eliza and Annie were all baptised 1851 at St Marks, CofE Collingwood.
