Louis John Antonio Pedrana was shipwrecked about 1793 on or near South Uist. Louis was born C1753, died 29/4/1844 aged 91 and is buried in the Church yard at Kettins near Coupar Angus. Louis at the age of 42 had a son John Pedrana in 1795 on South Uist. Louis remarried in London and had another two children, Lewis and a daughter Frances Lewis (Jr) came to Sydney, Australia with his wife Jean Symington in 1836 and moved to Melbourne in 1837.
Lewis Pedrana was in Melbourne 12 Sep 1837 when he was appointed Overseer to superintend the work of the convicts in constructing roads - salary 5/-d per day. Hr resigned from this position in writing on 1 Apr 1839. | ||||||
