A Memorial to Bubbette,
the Beautiful Iguana.

She took one last deep breath on Friday, May 19, 2006 in the arms of her loving daddy after several weeks of illness.  Her heart got slower and slower, until there were no more beats.

She was a wonderful girl, truly a gift from God.

We are grieving her loss, but we also want to celebrate her life.    She was honored at a memorial service on Sunday, May 28, 2006 at at our home in Durham, NC.  Our pastor lead a short informal service to treasure her memory and give thanks for every moment that we were able to share with her.

She was a reflection of God's love...so caring, trusting, and beautiful.
She touched your spirit and warmed your soul.

Here are some of the passages we read at her memorial service.  Several were written by her mommy, Darry.  Some were contributed by friends and were written at the loss of their beloved green ones.  Several others were found on the internet and were adapted to fit the occasion.  There are partial credits, as much as we could find.  If anyone knows the original authors, please contact us so we can ask permission to use them, and credit them properly, or remove them.

Here is her final resting place...
A very thoughtful gift from my brother who is a professional photographer, and took many pictures of her over the years.  He often tried to show her missing fingers to point out that beauty doesn't have to be perfect.
