Cheeko's Comics: Characters
*****************************************************************************
Crysthel
Other Aliases: The Crystal Dragon of All Knowledge
Age: ???
Height: ???
Eyes: ???
Hair: ???
Weight: ???
Distinguishing Features: ???
Character: ???
Special Talents: She knows everything. Come on! Do I have to spell it
out
for you!?
Background: Crysthel is the Last of the Old Ones, or the last
Guardian/god
to be created by the Great Essence. She was granted the power of
infinite
wisdom and knowledge; she literally knows everything. When the other
gods
became jealous of this gift, they sealed her away in a strange head
circlet
so that she wouldn’t expose any of their dangerous secrets. What her
appearance and character are like no one really knows, simply because
of the
fact that so few have ever actually seen her and asked her their One
Question. You can read more about the history of Crysthel in the
“Story"
section.
History: Originally, Crysthel was just going to be fanart for another
webcomist. Not going to tell you who, not going to tell you when, only
that
when I was finished with her... I decided I wanted to keep her for my
own.
Who wouldn’t? You won’t see what she looks like for a very, very long
time,
but she is the character which the entire story of “One Question"
revolves
around and therefore deserves the first spot in this Characters List.
Ranu
Other Aliases: Redeye
Age: Currently, 9 or 10.
Height: Roughly 5'4"
Eyes: Strangely, red.
Hair: Silver White
Weight: 79 lbs.
Distinguishing Features: Four strange “tattoos" are on his face, just
below
the eyes and just in front of his ears. Supposedly he was born with
them,
so they must be a feature characteristic of his race, which is unkown.
Character: Ranu is very adamant and at some times apathetic for reasons
unknown. He loves having a good time and a fun game every now and
then, but
detests meat for some reason. He is caring, energetic, and very
gracious,
and never passes by a chance to help someone out or do them a favor.
For
this reason, he has many admirers and friends within Dart’s Gang.
However,
Ranu has never seen any one individual who looks like he does; he does
not
even know to what race he belongs. For this reason, he is somewhat shy
and
reserved, and very anxious and frustrated with himself for not knowing
what
he is and why he doesn’t appear like everyone else.
Special Talents: Very skilled with his weapon of choice: the staff.
Background: No one really knows where Ranu specifically came from or
what
happened to him; only that one day he just appeared in the back streets
of
Silverport. It seems he had a very traumatic experience and is still
to
this day deeply shaken by it. For some reason he is constantly and
determinedly searching for a girl named Keijina.
History: I’m not really sure how Ranu came into existence. Maybe I
caught a
glimpse of him in a dream somewhere.
Dart
Other Aliases: Chief, Rex, King
Age: 8 and a half, supposedly.
Height: 4' 7"
Eyes: Yellow
Hair: White. He is also covered by a somewhat thin layer of fuzz/fur
and
possesses a tail.
Weight: 85 lbs.
Distinguishing Features: Dart is a member of the Felicitus Race: an
anthropomorphic population of rather small individuals, rather a lot
like
children, with all/many the attributes and characteristics of cats. As
a
result, he has the ears, eyes, tail, hands, fur, and feet of a feline.
Also, he wears large gloves that resemble “paws" with long “talons"
emerging
from the tips. Where he got them is unknown, even to himself, but he
never
removes them and they add considerable intimidation to his already
surprising stature.
Character: Dart is very dynamic and feels a need to be in charge;
rather
like the Alpha Male of a pack of wolves. He likes being loud, active,
and
popular. For some reason he has a strange obsession with fighters and
wants
nothing else but to be a warrior of some kind. His desire to tussle
and
fight with a worthy combatant is unsatiable, but he is a very good
leader.
When not surrounded by his many friends/followers, he actually can be
very
quiet and kind. Like Ranu, Dart feels alone and isolated in that he is
the
only Felicitus in Silverport, which is why (among other reasons) that
he
trusts and confides in him so often.
Special Talents: Good leader and moderate fighter. Very skilled thief
and
stalker/hunter.
Background: Dart has lived in Silverport for his entire life. No one
is
really sure where he came from or where his parents are; they are
supposed
to be dead. Because he basically had to raise himself, he developed a
dynamic and loud personality from the need to survive. Over the years
he
intimidated and bullied nearly all the other orphans and children he
lived
with, eventually pulling together an impressive “Gang" of young thieves
which he called “Dart’s Gang", of which he is the leader.
History: Again the result of a dream, the entire Felicitus race was
created
before Dart was. I knew one of these critters was going to make an
appearance in my comic, but I had no idea to what extent until Dart
came
into being. He was mainly just created to keep things interesting, but
I
just have fallen in love with him. :huggles!:
Narini
Other Aliases: Scarface
Age: 82
Height: 5' 9"
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Silver white.
Weight: 107 lbs.
Distinguishing Features: (see “Ranu")
Character: Narini is considerably wise for her appearance. She is very
sociable and has no trouble making any friends, and her strange
appearance
doesn’t seem to bother her. She is kind, caring, joking, amiable,
somewhat
quirky, and very loving. She is very aware of the fact that she is
rather
attractive, and is not afraid to tease members of the opposite sex
because
of this.
Special Talents: Has the ability to “read" cards; this means that she
can
take an adequate guess at future events simply by placing normal
playing
cards on the ground in a specific way.
Background: Narini was raised by Gypsies, which explains her laid-back
attitude, talent for “card-reading", and her toleration of those with
different religions, beliefs, and backgrounds. No one is really sure
why
she left her “troupe?and went of exploring/wandering on her own, but
was
immediately thrown into a prison upon her arrival at Nawiern simply
because
of her appearance.
History: Ranu needed a mom. Everyone has a mother, right?
General Orson
Other Aliases: General, Orson
Age: 43
Height: 6' 10"
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black
Weight: 389 lbs
Distinguishing Features: Eyepatch over right eye
Character: Orson is very closed and cold. Every generation before him
has
been involved with war and combat in some way, so the lust for battle
and
fighting is very strong within him. He has a very serious attitude
about
everything, and if he does laugh, it is either triumphantly or an
unconvincing grunt. When I asked him if he had any interest or
affection
for Narini he snarled at me and made threatening gestures, so I was
forced
to leave.
Background: Orson was the General of the King’s army during the 80
Years
War, and when it ended he was very distraught, felt restless and became
very
irritable. This was beginning to become a problem, as he was beginning
to
cause several tensions to arise in the court where he served as advisor
to
the king, so to solve this problem His Majesty put him in charge of the
local authorities, the “Guardsmen". He is highly distrustful of magic,
and
when he became suspicious of the Court Magician, Mask, he found himself
carried to jail by his own troops and without the King’s knowledge.
Turns
out Mask really WAS up to something, but no it’s too late to let anyone
know
about it. Now he’s stuck in a small cell with a very strange
inhabitant...
History: ???
Mask
Other Aliases: none
Age: unknown
Height: 6'7"
Eyes: –
Hair: –
Weight: unknown
Distinguishing Features: wears a strange, smooth, highly polished mask
and a
long white robe.
Character: Everything Mask is is determined by his love for his goddess
and
religion. Why this is no one is really sure, but his faith borders on
obsession. Everything he does, he wants, he desires, is never for
himself
but for the advancement of his religion and to the benefit of his
goddess.
Exactly who he worships is unknown, but he is so wrapped up in his
faith
that he is fully convinced of the fact that those who do not worship
his own
goddess are not worthy of living. Because of this he has a total
disregard
for life and would recklessly slaughter everyone he came across if it
wasn’t
for the fact that his goddess forbids it for some reason. Mask is
basically
the nature of his own namesake: a tool. However, he is insanely
intelligent, which seems to have only worsened his obsession and mental
health. He has an interesting habit of making dolls of his
acquaintances
and enemies and talking to them...as well as other things. Currently
he
resides alone in the top room of the tall tower a few hundred feet from
the
palace, which makes him even more mysterious.
Special Talents: Because he never fully has revealed his talents this
is
somewhat speculative. He does small magic tricks here and there though
never for entertainment purposes. It is rumored that his magic skills
are
unmatched in power and effectiveness, though there is no proof for
this.
Though not nearly as tall as Orson, his size is still very
intimidating, so
we will count that as a factor.
Background: Unknown. Mask arrived in Nawiern about twenty years ago,
he
claims, “at the orders of his goddess.” He immediately found favor in
the
King’s court, though through natural or darker means is anyone’s guess.
He
proved himself a valuable asset to the kingdom during the years they
were at
war in terms of intelligence and magical abilities. This has, in
addition
to other things, spawned an intense feeling of distrust and rivalry
between
him and Orson, which is really not a good thing to exist when one of
them is
secretly increasing his grip and influence of power in the court....
History: Honestly? I was bored one day in Algebra and figured that it
would
be a great time to start designing the bad guy. I wanted someone
simple and
easy to draw but at the same time incredibly scary and evil looking...I
already knew that there had to be some level of mysteriousness and
complete
lack of emotion involved because that just makes bad guys all the more
scary, and a mask seemed to be the solution. People tell me he looks a
bit
like Jason or a hockey mask only scarier, which, I guess, is a good
thing.
:) Mask is easily one of my favorite characters to draw because it
requires almost no effort to do so and he still looks scary!
