Yugioh: Stuff

~* Read This if you hate Tea/Rebecca/Tristan *~

NOTE: Below are only my opinions on these characters. You don't have to agree with me 100%, but please at least consider what I am saying. Thanks!

After visiting numerous message boards while surfing online, I have come across many bashings made to these characters. Most bashings consist of "I hate he or she". But some does get violent. Everyone has their favorite and least favorite characters. To dislike someone for a certain reason is okay. But to downright bash someone for no apparant reason is just rude, especially when these characters didn't do anything to deserve these bashings in the first place.

Tea bashing is the most common kind of bashing on the message board. People hate her for many reasons. Some say she is annoy because of all the friendship speeches she made. Others say she steals Yami/Yugi away from them. Now, Tea says those friendship speeches for a reason. She is trying to remind all of us the importance of friendship. Whenever she makes one, it is for a good reason. For example, she emphasized friendship alot when she dueled Mai to win starchips for Yugi. She did it because Yugi is withdrawing himself from all of his friend and Tea feels it is important to let Yugi know that all of his friends are right beside him. About the Yami/Yugi stealing accusations. Yugi does like Tea. It has been obvious through out the show and through out most of the manga. So it wouldn't be fair to say Tea stole Yugi away because it was Yugi who had a crush on her first. Tea does have a crush on Yami. During the fourth season, it seems that Yami does sort of like Tea back (the train scene, for example). So if they both like each other, Tea shouldn't take all the blame for "stealing" Yami's heart, don't you think so? Tea also happens to the be one of the strongest female characters on the show, and there isn't many females (Mai and Rebecca are the only other two who appears regularly). She works hard to pursue her dreams of becoming a dancer and she is brave enough to still believe in all of her friends, especially Yugi, even when the odds are stacked against them.

Rebecca is probably the second most common character in Yu-Gi-Oh getting bashed. Many people think she is plain annoying, whether it be her voice or her attitude. Now, may I remind all of you that Rebecca is the only girl who is good at duel monsters other than Mai? She is also great at other things as well, like computers. She is the one who helped Yami and Kaiba escape from the Doma monster when they were trapped within KaibaCorp in Season 4. So how can you not like her when she has been a huge help in many ways? She is going to appear even more frequently in Season 5 and from the look of the preview, she is going to be even a bigger help to the gang. I think Rebecca should deserve a lot more credit for her role in the series.

Tristan seems to be the only male character getting bashed often. Many people doesn't like his pointy hair style. Ever heard of the phrase "don't judge a book by its cover"? The same logic can be applied to Tristan. He may have a weird hair style, but he is a great friend to Yugi, Joey, and Tea. His friendship with Joey is especially strong. It can be seen in one of the Duelist Kingdom episodes, when Joey was dueling Rex for the first time. Tristan's card and friendship was a big help to Joey in winning the duel. He and Joey are also apart of the whole comic relief thing. Without Tristan, Joey might not be as funny as he is now.
