Traveling can be exciting but also frustrating. When we start our travel schedule and we don’t know the country, we may feel more frustrated than excited. First, we should start by reading a guide book, then we should find some people who traveled in that country, to learn from their vacation experience.
If you decide to go to Turkey, you should try reading and learning about my culture and traditions, then it will be easier for you when you get there.
The best time to go there is from April to November. If you don’t have a long vacation then you have to choose which places you want to see. There are many different choices, but you should choose the vacation you want. Some people want to see historical sites; others want to see mountains or seaside, etc. You should prepare your suitcases or backpack accordingly.
Anatolia is the cradle of civilization. It is very important to see many different civilizations in every part of Anatolia, like the Byzantine, Roman, Ottoman, and Hittite. You will find remnants of those empires and maybe you will start your dreams when you are visiting. Eastern, Western, Northern, Southern, and Central Anatolia will show you many different kinds of civilizations.
My favorite place in Turkey is Istanbul. It is a city like dream, with much civilization. Then I come Antakya city, the city of the first church of St. Peter in the world, of architecture and delicious cuisine. Another favorite place is eastern Turkey. You can see in Eastern Turkey different civilizations, traditions, mountains, and cuisines. The majority of people are hospitable. They will want you as a guest at their house. Another favorite place is southern Turkey. The mountains and Mediterranean is the best rest of this vacation. Which place do you want to go? You should start to read about places, customs, and food.
My other favorite places are mountains. If you are very curious about mountains, you should go to the Black Sea Mountains. They are called Kackar and Altiparmak Mountains. High plateau people who live on mountains are more traditional than city people.
Transportation is usually good. Buses and planes in Turkey are better and faster than railroads. Then you should travel with local transportation to the plateau you want. If you want to travel by jeep you can find a rental car office in the cities. You should use the cities’ public transportation.
You can find nice hotels in the cities. If you think to go to the high plateaus and nice seaside, you should find boarding houses. You want to live in that country’s culture and it will be easy to know at comfortable pensions than at hotels.
If you want to shop you should be careful before buying anything. Most people will want to sell you more expensive things. Please don’t forget to bargain with salespeople.
Finally, a visit to my country can be fun if properly planned, and it will be more exciting than frustrating. You can spend a nice vacation like a dream, without problems.
