I am a student of the writing class in University Settlement. The writing class is a part of the University Settlement Family Literacy Program. Our tutors are Professor June Foley and her students from New York University. They are volunteers to guide us in writing. They work a lot for us; we would like to say thanks to them repeatedly. We write essays every week. It can be of any type. As to the contents, you can write anything that you are interested in. You can write something about America or your motherland. So, in this writing class you can know a lot of things you never knew before. Surely, in writing class, you can comment on some subjects too. We read our essays in class and discuss it together warmly. Then we hand them to Mrs. June Foley. The week after she returned the essays to us and she made corrections and attached with her suggestions. All the essays of the week are typed and nailed together. It is convenient for us to read. We are from different regions. We feel so happy to study together. If you are interested in write something in English. Join us please. By one of students Wah Lee |
We learn to write our stories in the writing class. There are some love stories and true-life stories in our book. |
