Jul 10 - 5:45 PM Thanksgiving Mass for our class' answered prayers and for the repose of the souls of the mother and father of Rosemary Sapugay held at the Greenbelt chapel. in Makati. This was followed by fellowship and Despedida for Tess Domingo Ng and Bienvenida for Dulce (Milagros) Gutierrez at nearby Max's Restaurant. Grand reunion iteniraries and accomodation schedules were also discussed. Dulce then treated us to coffee and dessert at Starbucks.

	Im sharing with you a longtime email reply from Oscar, Betsy's son..this email was a few days after that thanksgiving mass they had for Betsy June 15. Manots From: "Oscar Coscolluela III" To: "Manolita G Custodio" Subject: Re: Message for Betsy Date: Mon, 17 Jun 2002 00:32:07 +0000 Dear Tita Manots, Thank you so much for your beautiful message. It was indeed one happy occassion for my mom to be able to attend your reunion.As I was wheeling her to meet up with you and the rest of her classmates, I too was bursting with joy because that moment seemed impossible a few weeks ago. I have never seen her that happy and giggly for a long long time now since my dad passed away. Everything seemed so perfect for us until dad went to Heaven. It was then that we knew that mom only lived because she did not want to leave us her children. As we were told by the doctors in Bacolod that she had cancer of the pancreas and it would be wise to send her to Manila to see if they can still operate on her to alleviate her pain which we the children could not also bear to see. We the childen definitely expected the best from this and at the same time prepared for the worst. We the children immediately knew that we just had to lift her up and surrender her to the Lord for only He knows best. We all live on borrowed time and what is important is that we try to live in His glory while we are enjoying and celebrating life. Im sorry if my religious lines or terms are somewhat upside down because although I enjoy my relationship with God, i know that i am not what you can call religious. Im sorry if I keep on babbling here but I just have to pay tribute and honor our Father and Mother who has never ceased from making their presence felt and for these grand shower of blessings. I had prayed silently that if my mother had to go, to please let her go quickly in her sleep and not anymore experience the pain which she had earlier felt. God indeed heard my prayers and everyone elses, He not only took away the pain but gave us a wonderful bonus which is her new life. :) As I write this, i too cant help but be a little emotional because it was only some 20 days ago that she was laying on the hospital bed with all these tubes and injections heavily sedated with morphine, barely speaking, not able to sit, stand nor walk. She could not even drink, much more being ambulanced and airlifted from one hospital to another for more tests. Friends and relatives in Bacolod who saw her off at the airport were all crying and believing that they would see her come home in a box. It was at your reunion when it dawned on me that my little words of "hang in there mom, you have a reunion to attend remember" everytime I felt her slipping away had come true. I thank you for your love and prayers, and I truly wish you and your family the best. Mom will be very happy when she gets your message. God bless you, Oscar

061602 Get-together with Susan Gabriel by Sol From: "marisolbalda" Date: Thu Jun 20, 2002 10:35 pm Not much to make kuwento as there were only Susan, Marcia and Nina who came. Last minute nagbackout si Iris at pagod na raw sila to drive all the way to Maryland. Si Bob and Lena naman called also to decline as they still had to pack for next day's trip. Delia had a relative arriving from NJ. But, of course we made the most of it. Susan and Chito arrived from Toronto at around 8 pm on Friday. It was so nice to see Susan again after 33 years! She's still the same except for the added poundage. Vanidosa pa rin. Si Chito ay naging healthy din. We exchanged family albums and kept abreast with our lives since our last contact - would you believe 2 a.m. na when we decided "to be continued tomorrow" and kuwentuhan? Ang dami kasi ng updates. Remember that Susan and I were very close during our HS and CSS days (as Nina would put it, tight). Saturday morning was spent shopping at the mall. Found out that Susan was also a shopaholic. Sunday was Father's day and they were naglalaway for crabs so Lito bought half a bushel. We had these for lunch in addition to Pancit and Honey Walnut Shrimp. Sunday Dinner/Get-together: Since Marcia was farthest from our place (Woodbridge, Virginia), she was the first to arrive at 6:15 pm as she was afraid to get lost. When the phone rang Marcia said "Sol, nandidito na ako sa labas ng bahay mo" this was 45 minutes early. Nina arrived at around 6:45 pm. Beso-beso, updates here and there. We looked at our school album - of course tawanan, tsismisan. For dinner I (Lito pala) prepared Kalbi, and Conching made Apritada, Escabeche, Pancit - and for Nina we had baked Salmon (no salt; only pepper) and tossed salad veggies. And the usual dessert - flan with ube ice cream and fruit tart (c/o Marcia). Nina's cheesecake was eaten the next day. After dinner we checked out the SPCMHS65 loop and again tawanan, bungisngisan sa mga pictures. Looking at pictures in the loop brought back memories. Before we knew it, it was already 10:30 pm. Nina and Marcia still had to work the next day so we sadly said our goodbyes. Monday - Susan, Chito and I with my daughter-in-law Michelle went outlet shopping from 10:30 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. We met Lito and my son Adrian for dinner at the Korean-Japanese restaurant called Woomi. And this was when we parted for now � it was so much fun having Susan's company once again. Pareho pa ring kalog. Miss her already. Well, ladies, can't wait till I see you all in September. And for those not coming in September, I'm looking forward to seeing you all again in December when I visit. Of course, Espie has made some good deals for us so we will be staying at Dusit Hotel. Really, are'nt we all blessed to have this opportunity to be able to see each other again and enjoy each other's company. Also, to share the joys (and sadness as well) but most importantly, to know that we have each other to count on. Praise the Lord for all these.
