From: Carolle Chan Agbulos Date: Thu Nov 14, 2002 3:32 pm Subject: Re: Get-together at Letty's Dear Everyone, Yes, reunions galore and we don't seem to get tired attending it, When Nancy told me about the reunion at Letty's home, I was hesitant. Sabi ko, puro AB yan and that I might be out of place because puro good girls ang pupunta - Cory, Maria, Nina and Nenita, I asked if Lahla was going and Nancy said that it was the "pasyal day" of her mom. At least if Lahla was there, may panabla na doon. Of course, the directions of Letty drove me crazy (as it did to Marilen Ruiz) at naligaw ako. I asked a tricycle driver (bless his kind soul) to guide me to the street where Letty's house was. When I got there, lo and behold, I saw more good girls - Millie, Lily Mangubat, Lulu Carrasco! The sight of Lily and Lulu made me say "Aha! di lang pala teachers natin ang may favorite. Classmates din!" I have been inviting Lulu and Lily to our reunions but there was always a reason why they could not go. Lulu and Lily took my kantiyaw good naturedly and told me that they free that day. In fact, Lulu even drove all the way from Alabang to Mandaluyong!!!!!! Can you beat that! I felt I was in the company of angels - mga good girls during HS. Yun pala after hearing them chatter and giggle like school kids, e di pala sila malayo sa amin nila Lahla, Elvie, Tessie. Di ka ngamakasingit sa kanila sa ingay nila! Imagine this scenario....Sister Caritas tried blowing her whistle to get silence everyone..di tumunog kasi napuno ng small bits of paper ang silbato niya! Every time she attempted to blow it, small bits of paper would come out! Parang confetti! Natawa din siya sa sarili niya. Super laff-in! I was looking at Letty and gee whiz! She has come a long way from a very frail and simple looking high school girl to a smartly dressed woman - fully made up, very smart in her red dress (hoy, terna sila ng husband niya..pareho silang naka red)..she was looking good. Sylvia, Cynthia and Nancy rode with me on the way home. Siyempre, dahil ako ang driver and sila ang navigator, naligaw kami! After taking several wrong turns, we finally got to the main road. Hay naku! When will I ever get my directions correctly. The party was, as usual, enjoyable! So, when is the next reunion? Carolle
From: Nancy Guevarra Narciso Date: Tue Nov 12, 2002 12:40 am Subject: The AB Girls We wanted a photo of the AB girls only because, after all, Letty and Nenita are our AB classmates. Here we are,the AB girls posing with Nenita's son,Jon Rael and her British daughter-in-law,Amy
From: Nancy Guevarra Narciso Date: Tue Nov 12, 2002 1:53 am Subject: Another Group Pic at Lettys If not for the fact that Sr. Caritas would be late for Vespers and some of us had not yet gone to Sunday Mass, hindi pa matatapos ang party. Sobrang saya! In this photo with us is Lulu Siochi Aberion, standing fifth from the left in plaid red shirt, another AB girl, who rushed all the way from Cavite to make it to the party. Better late than absent. Also with us standing at left, are the three lawyer/hubbies, Loy Dichoso, Jimmy Arcangel, and Joseph Cohon. At extreme right, front,is Tony Ganal. Note the Christmas tree and other Yuletide decor. Paskong pasko na kina Letty. She already had parols hanging at the front windows.
From: Nancy Guevarra Narciso Date: Tue Nov 12, 2002 1:13 am Subject: Sing along at Letty's The sing-along started with Sr. Caritas (would you believe?), Corrie, Maria, Cynthia and Letty. Nina was conducting the choir "con gusto like Ms. Agravante" to quote Maria. Sylvia was accompanying them on the electonic organ. Even Sr. Caritas let her hair or veil down, delighting us with her sweet soprano voice. Later on the singing would become more fun and riotous as we all joined in the singing, belting out all kinds of songs, from religious hymns (the ever-religious Corrie had copies of Walk with Faith,Heal Our Land etc with her) to love songs including even Aiza Seguerra's song,Pagdating ng Panahon.(Carolle had a copy of this hit by Aiza in her purse).Did Corrie and Carolle have an intuition that there would be singing at this party? Letty's son, Roald took over accompanying us. He is a composer and SK chairman. Romualdez talaga, di ba? I was not able to take photos of the riotuous singing because I too had joined in the singing by then. But I know that Maria's hubby, Joseph , was taking pics all the time. Overheard Carolle telling Roald, "Sana kasama ka ulit sa next reunion namin". Nancy
