Wildflower
A spiritual rendition
Newbirth
I've faced the hardest times I could imagine
many times my eyes fought back the tears
and when my peaceful world was about to fall in
each time my slender shoulders
bore the weight of all my fears
and  the sorrow no one hears
still rings in midnight silence, in my ear.

When I cry, I hold back the tears
when I dream, i'm full of fear
let the rain fall down upon me
I'm a withered restless flower, growing wild.

If by chance Jesus could hold me
let him hold me for all time
if allowed, he would possess me
and he will pick me from my garden of sin.

Be careful how you touch me
for I will awaken
sleep's the only freedom, from my pain
and when you look into my life
you won't believe
the way I'm always paying
for a debt I never owe
the silent wind from Jesus whispers
where only I can hear, deep in my soul

So let me cry, Jesus will dry my eyes
so let me dream, for I am set free
let the spirit fall down, fresh on me
i'm a free and gentle flower, I am his child.

Even a beautiful garden of flowers can be blemished and what causes the blemish is, no up keep where weeds start growing, wild thorns grow and choke the flowers, trash  drifted in by a breeze ruining its beauty.  If left un-watered the beautiful flowers will wilter and die.  That's why every now and then some watering and pruning must be done to keep the beauty in a garden.

In our lives today, we have allowed trash, weeds and a lack of water destroy our spirit and beauty.  When we have no spirit nor beauty we begin to look like our environment.  With God in our lives, he will swip away the trash cluttered around us. He'll  pull up the weeds that are stunting our growth, heal afflictions destroying our beauty.  He'll break up the fallow ground that is parched by the sun planting new seeds deep in us so when there's heavy rain, we will only receive the nourishment that will saturate our situations and cause growth. When the winds blow, our seeds will be so deeply rooted they can not harm us.  As he pours his spirit over and around us as his blanket of covering, we are now stedfast and un-movable.  We can master any storm with the strength of a palm tree that leans with the heavy winds but never break and when the storm is over, stand tall.  So as a wildflower, let his spirit fall fresh on you, now a free and gentle flower, you are his child.
